Recon Run: Hoth (Kathol Outback, First Order, etc.)

"The plan? If you're tech people, go for the comscan room and get the logs. If you're not, either escort them or fan out and see what there is to see. I'm not ruling out the possibility that there's a First Order presence here of some kind, and of course there's our friend with the jetpack. So stay alert, stay quiet, and above all, folks -- travel in pairs or groups."

He examined his sensor pack again, but the enclave was stoutly constructed, and its walls baffled his scans. Pinning down jetpack boy's exact location wasn't in the cards, not unless they blundered into him.

"Oh, and keep an eye out for any signs of Sith or Dark Jedi activity. Saber scars on the walls, bloody symbols, I don't know. This place was never really used as a Jedi enclave, never used as more than a secret bolthole, so if you think someone's been living, working, training, digging through here, let me know about it."

Actakos reached the top of the stairs, and looked out across the next dark hallway. He groaned, walking down another dark corridor. He pulled his hood of of his head. It was starting to sink down in front of his eyes and it was getting on his nerves. Speaking of getting on his nerves, Spezz-5 came over the comms. "Sir, would you like me to send your probe droids? They could help you scout out the base."

"Spezz, stop asking questions." Actakos growled as he kept walking.

"But it could make this process much faster. Besides, I am getting bored."

"You're a droid! POWER DOWN!" Actakos was so annoyed by his droid that he wish he was there to knock his head off.

"But sir, someone has to keep you company."

Actakos growled again, hoping he ran into something down here he could kill to get the anger out. It wasn't too long before he reached the next set of stairs, leading him to the top floor. He had passed so many rooms and other corridors, but his goal was upstairs, not down here.

Bellum noticed that the commander of the patrol looked familiar. He started to look through the screen to get a good glimpse of the commander but could not see him clearly due to the snow. Bellum turned to his pilot who was focused on controlling the walker. It takes an experienced to pilot a walker in the snow without it getting stuck or falling over.

"Move a little faster. Close the distance between us and the patrol."

"You got it!"

The walker began to move a little more faster. Bellum could start seeing the figures more clearly from his hatch. The walker is now very close to the patrol. Bellum unfastens his restraints and opens up the hatch. He gets out of his seat and pokes his head out of the hatch to find the commander. He finally spots him and sees that it is [member="Garett Van"] the officer that Bellum's walker was replaced with, when Bellum and his pilot was transferred to 242nd Armored Battalion.

"Won't you look at that? How's it going there Garett?" Bellum yelled happily at Garett.

Bellum knocked on the walker three times, signalling to Ben to stop the walker. It was much more cooler outside then in the walker, but Bellum was amazed that they were in the same area, and did not know. Garett's troops looked at Bellum with confusion. They knew what Garett did before he was an officer in the Planetary Defense Force, but did not know that Hextar replaced Garett as Liuetenant.

Garett turned around to look at the walker, his replacement, he chose personally was standing out of the hatch of said walker.
"Things are fine down here Lieutenant. As for the Company, it isn't official yet, just here temporarily"
Garett motioned to his troopers to continue the patrol, the only one who stayed with Garett was Sgt. Illerian.
"I see you have my old walker and named her too."
Garett didn't name the walker as he never thought making a piece of equipment that might be lost something personal. He rather give the nicknames to his soldiers, or units as those would last forever, hopefully. Each officer though had their own way of doing things, so he didn't knock Hextar for doing what he did. They just had different styles.

Bellum placed his helmet on the top of the walker.
"Oh, did you not hear?"
Bellum paused for a moment.
"This... this isn't your walker. This is the one I had before I was transferred to the 242nd. I have no idea what they did to your walker. The Ordo has protected me and my pilot for 5 years and it's probably going to protect you someday. "
He messed with his helmet while he talked. It was getting very cold and he wanted to get back inside the walker which was less cold inside. When he talked about the Ordo, he looked around it and admired it. The walker has been through alot and it's going to go through more until it either scrapped or destroyed.
"I heard through the outpost comms that you and your men were searching for something that caused the sensor readings to go off. Maybe me and my pilot can continue our patrol and find this object. If we do find it, we will either contact you or the outpost... Or just kill it."
Bellum waited for Garett's response to see if he liked that plan that he just thought of.

Simone pushed her hood off and shook stray flakes of snow out of her hair as they slipped inside. It wasn't much warmed inside, but at least there wasn't snow. Tech people? That would be her. Grinning and excited to do something she was good at she looked around her. "Alright, who wants to be my escort? I pay well, and I don't bite...hard"

A short burst of laughter escaped Leo's lips as he cocked a smile the girls way. "Sounds like my type of woman." He scoffed, "Let's go." He said, slyly winking as he began to stroll forward into the empty hallway ahead. Leo was silent as he walked upon the steel floor, making no sound as he casually strolled forwards. He cocked his head backwards as he walked, looking in the general direction of Jorus, "I'm just gonna go... this way." He said pointing down the corridor to the right, "You guys make sure to have fun now." That charismatic grin appeared once more.

OOC: I know this is a little bit of necromancy, but I'd like to give this operation some sort of conclusion, be it success or failure. If any of you are around and feel like hopping in again, maybe we can wrap this up.

Five minutes' work later, Jorus had acquired two things: the sensor logs he'd come for, and the bone-deep certainty that they needed to bail. He felt the latter in the same way he used instinctive astrogation to avoid a supernova: the only safe course was 'thattaway'. And he could feel safe options vanishing one by one.

Putting up his hood, he opened the front door and looked down the snowy mountainside. Down on the plateau was an assortment of troops and walkers, some closer than others.

"Welp."

As quickly as humanly possible, he set off across the mountain. His most likely path to safety was the impromptu trail they'd taken from the ski resort on the other side of the peak.
