Designed by the Republic Engineering Corporation, the REC-AP/01 "Javelin" - Pattern Scramjet was intended to become an effective and wholly capable alternative to a Planet’s aerial defence force. Due to the simple fact that Starfighters were far more of a drain on the Taxpayer’s wallet, these Airspeeder’s would be the perfect addition to any Planetary Government’s standing armed forces. Utilizing a design that once saved the world of Mon Calamari from utter destruction, the Javelin seeks to reforge that ancient legacy in the modern era. The Airspeeder was small in comparison to other vehicles of its classification, but with such a narrow attack profile - coupled with powerful engines and maneuvering vanes? The Javelin would easily threaten even the most heavily-armed of Starfighters, as well as giving the most experienced of Pilots a run for their Credits.
However, the key differences between that ancient V-wing and the newest iteration of the Airspeeder - lay within and without the entirety of the Repulsorjet. While it may appear to be the same vessel, in many respects, they weren’t even comparable when one started to break down their functionalities. Firstly, through the advancements in technology throughout the centuries - Javelin found itself blessed with a heavier armament than its predecessor, alongside a dedicated deflector shield. Adding in a comprehensive countermeasure suite alongside the trademark automation that made Republic Engineering Corporation a household name? Their appearance was the only thing between those two powerful Airspeeders that could be remotely shared.
And so, with everything bound together into a wonderfully potent frame - the REC-AP/01 "Javelin" - Pattern Scramjet would take flight, and see to a Planet’s defence - whilst their more expensive kin took the fight to the stars.
