OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Organization Name: Reaper Squadron
  • Classification: Elite Starfighter Squadron / Mercenary Unit
  • Affiliation: Rhea Corvus
  • Organization Symbol: A jagged, blood-red scythe blade set against a black field, often painted on the fuselage of their starfighters.
  • Description: Reaper Squadron was a short-lived but skilled starfighter unit composed of five elite pilots bound by the shared trauma of the Fall of Coruscant. They were not soldiers of hope, but avengers, their tactics defined by aggressive, unforgiving efficiency. For a brief time, they were an almost unstoppable force, a perfect, deadly machine. Their story is a tragedy, ending in betrayal and annihilation from within.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

  • Headquarters: Mobile; primarily operated from the Hidden Path's secret base on Odessen after their alliance.
  • Domain: Reaper Squadron had no fixed domain. Their influence was projected through fear, operating wherever their contracts or their vengeance took them across the Mid and Outer Rims.
  • Notable Assets: The squadron's primary assets were their highly customized and meticulously maintained starfighters: Rhea's T-85 X-wing "Hell's Scythe," Chy'ran'till's BTA-NR2 Y-wing bomber, and Lyrielle's stealth-modified CloakShape fighter.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Hierarchy: The hierarchy was simple and absolute. Rhea Corvus, "Reaper One," was the unquestioned commander. The other pilots (Reapers Two through Five) were her hand-picked equals in the cockpit, but she held ultimate tactical authority.
  • Membership: Membership was by invitation only, extended personally by Rhea to pilots who had not only survived the battle at Coruscant but had been irrevocably scarred by it. It was a brotherhood and sisterhood of shared rage. There was no formal initiation; proving one's worth in combat alongside the squadron was the only test.
  • Climate: Internally, the squadron was a pressurized capsule of focused fury. The atmosphere was intense, professional, and marked by a deep, unspoken bond forged in mutual loss. While not outwardly affectionate, the pilots shared an absolute trust, each a vital component of a deadly weapon. This made Lyra's betrayal all the more catastrophic.
  • Reputation: To their allies in the Hidden Path, they were revered but feared—the ultimate weapon to be pointed at the enemy. To their Imperial foes, they were a mythic terror, a ghost story told by TIE pilots about an enemy that struck without warning and left only wreckage.
  • Curios: Each pilot wore a personalized version of the Reaper Squadron patch on their flight suit. The only commonality was the red scythe.
  • Rules: The squadron had only one true rule: Never leave a Reaper behind. This rule was the bedrock of their unity and the reason Lyra's betrayal was an unforgivable sin.
  • Goals: Their goal was singular and personal: vengeance against the Sith Empire for the destruction of Coruscant, and specifically against Commander Isla Sable's Shadow Wing. Their alliance with the Hidden Path provided the means to this end, but their war remained a private crusade.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The unit was formed in the immediate aftermath of the Fall of Coruscant. Rhea Corvus, arriving too late to save the world but in time to aid the shattered survivors, found a new purpose in vengeance. She gathered the first members: Dubois Voran, a grizzled veteran whose ship she saved; Chy'ran'till, a 200-year-old Wookiee warrior who shared her fury; and the enigmatic Sephi, Lyrielle, who saw in Rhea a perfect instrument of retribution. The final, vital piece was Lyra, a passionate pilot who became Rhea's lover and the squadron's emotional heart. Together, they were Reaper Squadron. For a time, they were magnificent. Operating as mercenaries, they carved a path of destruction through Imperial interests. Their synergy was unparalleled as they were able to do a lot for themselves. It was during this period they allied with the Hidden Path, finding a cause that gave their vengeance structure.

Their success drew the attention of Commander Isla Sable of Shadow Wing. Isla, Rhea's former wingman and rival, devised a cruel strategy: instead of destroying the Reapers, she would corrupt them from within. Over months, she secretly manipulated Lyra, preying on her insecurities and twisting her love for the squadron into a fanatical belief in Isla's ideology. The betrayal was absolute. Lyra, now fully indoctrinated, led the unsuspecting Reaper Squadron into a perfectly laid ambush in the Calamari system, under the guise of a high-value strike mission. The ambush was a slaughter. Shadow Wing forces, led by Isla Sable herself, emerged from hyperspace and engaged with overwhelming force. The Reapers, caught in a deadly crossfire, fought with the desperation of the betrayed.
  • Dubois "Reaper Four" Voran was the first to fall, his command ship shredded by concentrated fire from Lyra's own X-Wing, her final act of severance.
  • Chy'ran'till "Reaper Three" died as she lived: in a raging, last stand. She took two Shadow Wing pilots with her in a fiery explosion that consumed her Y-wing bomber.
  • Lyrielle "Reaper Five", attempting a desperate stealth run on Isla Sable's command ship, was pinpointed by Lyra's intimate knowledge of her tactics and vaporized by an interdictor's ion cannon barrage.
Rhea, witnessing the destruction of her entire squadron, engaged Lyra in a final, furious dogfight. It was less a battle of skill than a brutal exchange of pain and hatred. Rhea barely survived. She escaped the Calamari system as the sole survivor, the Reaper Squadron wiped out, its legacy ending in blood and betrayal. The unit was officially destroyed.
