Question Real World References for Comedy?

I’ve read through the rules that prohibit the use of real world references to describe or name places, objects or any other mcguffins. However I wanted to ask if it was permissible to make references for the purpose of humor. Such as a book or entertainment program that starts with “in the distant future, I’m a place not too far away”, that being a reference to Star Wars but in reverse, instead being used to describe our real world universe from the perspective of the characters.

I didn’t think such a thing would be too egregious, but I wanted to make sure before doing something like that.

Those rules only apply to Codex and Factory entries. Anything you chose to bring up in threads is entirely up to you.

That's not entirely true. The RP Rules have this:
2. Cross-Over Role-play is not allowed.

References are fine, hints are fine, but we can't get to the point where you start having Stellar Troopers or similar.
