DESCRIPTION
Acting as the newest addition to the Republic Engineering Corporation’s catalogue of New Class vessels, the Ravenna-Class was designed to operate as a modular civilian transport. As much of the Shipwright’s offerings were considerably larger in scope, there was a potential stream of untapped revenue that revolved around smaller vessels. It was then that the various technological architects began scrolling through their databases for inspiration. When it was found, they elected to render such inspiration into reality. But, the first iteration of their design was far too large to match their corporate overlord’s expectations. Thus, the schematic was shrunk - with many of the attached systems tossed aside and subsequently replaced.

And so, the Ravenna was born. With her original schematic gutted, the Shipwright’s design teams began to recompile the data - fleshing out the interior and putting everything back in its respective place. As much of the exterior remained visually similar, with partially exposed weapon mounts and long-range communications dishes, it was the interior that was truly the technological marvel of this vessel. As it was gutted and rebuilt from the ground up, the Shipwright was able to make almost every compartment wholly modular; allowing the vessel to be reshaped to suit the needs of those that occupied its interior.

With entire modules that could be retracted into various bulkheads, the Ravenna’s primary purpose as a means of transport could be adapted with minimal effort. This meant that the internal layout could be altered into an improved ambulance, as the medical bay could be expanded to house up to a total of ten sentient lifeforms in a comfortable fashion. Naturally, this meant that additional medical supplies and equipment could be stored aboard where the living quarters once resided. The same could be stated for those that had a more luxurious taste for comfort, as their quarters could be expanded to accommodate more creature comforts.

Thus, the Ravenna-Class Transport would serve as a wholly modular platform for whomsoever purchased the design. This allowed the Corporation to expand its retrofitting service to include repurposing the vessel’s interior to suit their client’s desires. Not only would they make a pretty credit in the production and sale of the Transport, but in the interior renovations as well.
