POINTS OF INTEREST

Grand Foyer:
The entrance to the lap of culinary luxury, and the first thing most visitors see. A snooty-faced headwaiter stolidly turns away the unwanted and the troublesome, and a half-dozen examples of local muscle loom nearby to enforce any such dismissals, if need be. Those with the means to gain a reservation, or even more rarely, to simply come in and sit down are instead received with the utmost grace and civility.

Dining Room:
Where the magic happens. This room is seldom lacking for visitors, being full at all hours with the low hum of conversation, the dulcet tones of a string quartet, and the sizzle of freshly-served delicacies. As a rule, this area is kept spotlessly clean, and as with the foyer outside, any troublemakers are quickly escorted off-premises.

Here one might find local big-shots of all colors, eating meals that cost a king's ransom. All, however, are unaware of what lurks beneath their feet...

Kitchen:
Home to some of the most illustrious culinary professionals in the region. Rare Consequence's kitchen is a notoriously cutthroat environment, but nonetheless produces wonderful dinner courses. Given the kitchen staff's proximity to more... closed-off sections of the building, they are often handsomely paid to keep their mouths shut.

Meat Locker:
A sizeable walk-in freezer dedicated to holding the fresh meat served in Rare Consequence's meals. It is well-stocked at all times, and absolutely off-limits to visitors. This is partly a matter of simple hygiene, and partly because the restaurant's owners do not want anyone discovering that the rear wall hides a doorway...

The Undercroft:
Should one open the door in the kitchen's freezer, one will be treated to the sight of a poorly-lit staircase descending down into darkness. Should one repress their self-preservation instincts and venture further, one would find that the restaurant above is but the tip of a very dark iceberg indeed...

The restaurant's basement is gargantuan in size, easily dwarfing the sizeable building above. It is here that Rare Consequence's true purpose lies. This basement is home to a number of operations, with the primary one being information gathering.

One entire room is dedicated entirely to listening in on conversations happening above. As the establishment is mostly frequented by the wealthy and connected, idle chatter picked up from the dining room can often convey surprisingly useful information, particularly when the alcohol flows. Blackmail material, state secrets, all collected by the myriad of concealed audioreceptors around the building.

Still other areas are dedicated to drug running, weapon smuggling, and overseeing a number of small-time criminal operations nearby.

SECURITY
HIGH

The publicly-accessible areas of the restaurant are closely watched by well-dressed but imposing local talent. These hired guards are most often seen standing, hands crossed, in the corners of the dining hall. Most of these men know nothing of the true nature of Rare Consequence, but will nonetheless not hesitate to escort any troublemakers elsewhere.

The restaurant's basement is another matter. The guards here are fully-armed and alert battle droids (typically B1-HL models, with a small smattering of AZY Assault Droidekas to repel particularly-determined intruders). Any unauthorized persons found wandering the basement's labyrinthine corridors will be detained on sight, and most likely shot shortly afterwards if the guards deem they've seen too much.

Aside from physical guards, the restaurant contains a number of cleverly-concealed security systems in the event of an attack by law enforcement or rival criminal syndicates. These include a large number of ZRB holodroid projectors hidden within the dining hall's elaborate wooden upholstery, as well as dormant Hellwasp Drones lurking in the building's corridors and ventilation ducts.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

On its face, Rare Consequence is a new and mysterious player in Coronet's culinary scene. The restaurant seemed to spring up from nowhere over a period of a few days, and quickly cultivated a reputation for quality and exclusivity.

This unprecedented taken-by-storm rise has incited suspicion from a number of older, more established restaurants on Corellia, but Rare Consequence maintains a squeaky-clean public image. The restaurant duly pays its taxes, cooperates with authorities (to a point), and in general stringently avoids giving law enforcement any reasons to take a second look.

Despite its short tenure so far, Rare Consequence has primarily earned its reputation through quality control alone. Each dish is impeccably prepared, every table spotless, and every employee gracious, helpful, and friendly.

Many of the restaurant's detractors (primarily the aforementioned rival businesses) whisper that Rare Consequence must be cheating on its taxes, skimming off the top, or even peddling substandard ingredients mixed with psychoactive chemicals.

The truth, of course, is far worse.

Rare Consequence's actual purpose is to be a listening post for the Dzara. Given Corellia's proximity to the Core, the shadowy organization has extended thin tendrils of its influence to the galactic northeast. Needless to say, the restaurant serves as one of many Dzara fronts in the region, and is an epicenter for criminal activities of all sorts. Given the sheer size of the complex under the restaurant, it can (and often does) play host to such diverse activities as slave trafficking, drug and weapon smuggling, and other, far worse things besides.

While the building seldom hosts actual bona-fide Sith visitors, it nonetheless functions as a local extension of their will, hidden well under the noses of local officials. Regardless of who owns the core in the future, it is doubtless that Rare Consequence is just one of many such fronts to come.
