Ranking system Adjustments

My dear fellow members of the Protectorate, but especially our faction staff. Hearby I, Credius Nargath present to you a proposition for the reorganization and internal strengthening of our beloved Corporate Protectorate through the addition of more specified ranks within our government, military and more.
Current Government ranking: [X]

To improve upon these ranks with a more diversified and specialized system, I hearby show you the additional ranks and their standing | purpose within the government.

1. Consul [1]

They are the absolute top when it comes to legislative and executive power within the Corporate Protectorate. They are responsible for the final decisions on proposals from lower ranked officials, military and other entities within the faction. There are always two consuls who will be democratically elected by the lower ranking officials every two months. They speak for the entirity of the government and military and can only be overruled or veto'd by a majority vote in the body of officials or by another consul.

2. Legate: [0 so far]

The Legates are the first step down from the Consuls in terms of executive power. A single Legate handles the bureaucracy and political governing of multiple systems. [minimal 3 hexes, max 5 hexes] They oversee the Hex Prefects and in concordance with the Prefects, they can decide on everything within their territory; going from the production of goods, making contracts with companies and the overall military presence. They can be overruled by a majority vote of the prefects or by a consul.

3. Prefect [0 so far]

Prefects are the governmental position which grants rule over a single hex/system within the greater Corporate Protectorate. Just like the Legate, they can run their territory with absolute impunity as long as they have the majority support of the lower ranked officials and are not being veto'd by their higher ranking superiors. A prefect can be Veto'd by a majority vote of their representing Magistrates or their superior.

4. Magistrate [2 so far]

The Magistrates are the lowest "high" officials within the government. They are the ones closest to the actual people of the Corporate Protectorate and are tasked with both the cencus of people, statistics within the faction, etc.

- Aedile: The Aedile's are planetary Magisters, those who govern a planet and are responsible for all of said planet's aspects. They can be veto'd by their anyone above their rank.

-Quaestor: The Quaestors are the Magisters that do not serve as planetary rulers, but as advisors to practically every rank within the government. These could be merchants that have loyalty contracts with the Protectorate or who have holdings within the protectorate. They can be secretaries, accountants, even former military personel. Their job is to keep the wheels turning and to make sure that every proposal or contract which has been formed is made knowledgeable throughout the government to ensure transparancy.

Current Military Ranking: [X]

I actually do not see much reason for change here for now.

New Branch: Intelligence and Security Management

The Intelligence branch is as the name implies reponsible for internal security and screening. Their agents can operate both in and outside of the Corporate Protectorate's jurisdiction. Within this branch there are simply three discernable branches, namely the Defenders, the Hunters and the Overseers. These three departments each answer directly to the Legates or even the Consuls depending on the severity of the issues.

The Defenders branche is responsible for rooting out possible spies and threads within the Corporate Protectorate.. They also handle the more localized security forces when either a military presence is not recommended, not necessary or simply not possible. To still maintain order and ensure safety and stability. They work closely with the Government body, both local and higher.

The Hunters branch is responsible for defending the Corporate Protectorate's external interests and safety. They make sure to root out any possible spies and bounty hunters not yet within the Defenders' jurisdiction and are also used as spies and assassins themselves. They work closely with the Military.

The Overseers are probably the most feared and at the same time respected branche. Their task is to prevent corruption and misconduct in both the government and the military. They operate with impunity and under direct control of the Consuls, though they CAN investigate the consuls as well if this is requested by a Legate or consul.

1. Adjudicator: [max 1]

overseeing all the branches within the ISM, they are in term of governmental influence only partially below the Consuls, tasked with delegating the numerous operatives throughout the political and military web of the faction.

2. Executive Commander: [3 in total]

Each of the branches has an executive commander. This is possibly one of the hardest jobs within the Protectorate, as they have to manage an entire branche and must keep a constant vigilant watch over both their own subordonates as well as the provided and gathered information

3. Agents:

These are the dedicated workers, they can be trainers and managing directors of local security forces [defenders], they are the ones hunting spies both internally and externally or acting as a spy or assassin on the Protectorate's behalf. They are also the ones who do the makority of the investigations on orders of the Executive Commanders.
