Ranger's Assemble

[member="Face"] [member="Brooklyn Justice"] [member="Thoja Arlos"]

Work on the construction efforts and the bigger things were all there. Willa had been working on part of the base to try and give it the best results they could as she spoke to the different ranger teams that were there with them. "Alright we have been working on this location for awhile now and we want to make sure it is very secured and touched up. The outer perimeter that we have developed is being sent to have pillboxes and turrets with scanners around to look into the jungle. Then an outer wall that will serve for us with Hijarna stone and defensive turrets. The main gates will serve as the sole entrance aside from air ships that we will have anti air turrets and towers automated to track, the space between the inner and outer wall is designed to have a main pathway that will be protected and shielded with a no ones land we can leave opened with mines and gravity traps. Able to soften and decimate enemy forces that are invading. Then leading to the inner wall and within range of mortars that we can target and control. Blisters on the wall of cannons as well as flame units to spew flames all around. The modular and new construction of the base allows for us to shield it and it is self sustaining to allow us to survive a siege from an invading force." She was looking and working with the locals who were getting them a series of natural defenses within the jungle itself that would serve to make a third barrier we can use to create funnels and chokepoints to sensor locations or trapped areas. We do not want uninvited guests coming here." Willa crossed her arms over her chest from the communications area as they were continuing to import slabs of hijarna stone to develop the base and its walls.

Arisa was no ranger, but she was a soldier and thought it would be best for the Jedi to work closer with their NFU counterparts. In her reviews of past conflicts, she had noticed a trend of Jedi shirking command as they tunneled in on their Sith opponents. That definitely wasn't her style, opting to make use of her troops to pressure enemies in way that neither could accomplish alone.

From Klatooine, she had brought soldiers from the newest military units she had mustered on behalf of the Silvers. Lancers, Raiders, and now Paladins. The last group was her newest creation and the most important in her eyes. Modeled after the Paladin units of
Kiribi, these Force enhanced cyborgs were meant to directly engage hostile Sith and their more powerful Sithspawn. For the job, they were equipped with a modified variant of the Guard Armor, optimized do away the need to wield the force with some systems. Most other changes including incorporating new technologies that had been developed since the Guard armor's initial production.

Today, she hadn't come to assist in base building, but to test its current defenses in a
mock raid. On the flip side, it would help her own units get some experience in conducting a proper assault. They all waited in orbit aboard their carrier for all of the Rangers to assemble.

This was Brook's first day on the job. She had no idea why the Rangers had wanted her, she was small and somewhat weak. But none the less she had accepted their invite to join them. She would listen closely nodding at everything that was said. She would then wait for instructions.

Willa was looking and listening to everything that she could see with the others. They were working on upgrading the defenses of the area as well as pulling in the different units with a nod of her head. "Welcome, now we have everything getting set up as we need it to be and there is more incoming. Some of the prototype locations and equipment that has been getting developed for the ranger's themselves." Willa stood there with her arms crossed and ghost squad was around just outside the room, providing them with defenses until she was letting Brooklyn one of the newest recruits get a place for herself here. "Also want to welcome our newest recruit to the ranger's."

It appeared as though all the rangers had assembled. She placed her units on alert to prepare for deployment. The plan was for two main waves. Ships and shock troopers to soften up the defenses, then a follow up of ground forces to for mop up and finally seizing the base. Arisa was going to be part of the first group, having a desire to test out the new armor system herself.

"Attention to base forces," she called over a secure line. "Opertions will begin momentarily. Be ready."

That was about the extent of detail they would get from her warning. She had not provided a specific time for the insertion, or her unit composition. Meanwhile, she didn't know much about the base defenses, though she was quite familiar with the inventory of the Silver Jedi, and Sasori, who was their chief supplier.

At the signal, her flotilla of corvettes and frigates descended to orbit, preparing to make a pass over to insert the first wave of fighters and transports. She finished calibrating her armor, then slipped inside her heat shield for the orbital drop. She was a tad nervous. The Sentinel was no stranger to airborne insertions, but this would be her first one from orbit. The technology of the heat shields was all proven stuff having been used for centuries, but there always came the risk of some fault causing a breakup of the shield at the most dangerous point of reentry. Not even mentioning sharpnel and blaster fire, but that was one thing shhe didn't have to worry about today.

Willa stood there as she was looking over it and there was the message from Arisa as she gave a nod of her head. "Confirm we received her message and have everyone prepare. Assume battle readiness of the base and establish anti-air defense towers along with warhead batteries. Nothing is going to get within range." She looked at it and was setting up a few other things, for safety they had changed out for practice mines and everything to be safe but there was always a chance as the hardlight image changed showing the shield for the base going up to cover to the outer wall but not the exterior barrier. The rocks and areas they had set up to funnel ground forces worked for the ranger's when she was pointing out a couple of things. "Have Ghost squadron prepared and ready, I want snipers marking targets and our combat engineers getting firing solutions."

When the Rangers on the ground had confirmed that they were ready, the exercise was on. Minutes later, and her operation would begin. Since it was just a mock raid, none of their weapons would actually be fired, but their systems would still register hits from targeting arrays and tracking systems. Soldiers would receive feedback from their HUDs and comms.

She opened up by dispatching a squadron of
tri-fighters to the surface. Once they passed through the atmosphere, the formation broke off into smaller elements of two man ships, targeting the largest structures of the complex with their beam weapons as they maneuvered to avoid being tagged by AA fire and launchers. Arisa didn't expect to bring down the base with just a single squadron of light interceptors, this was only a move to probe the base defenses and keep the defenders on their toes as she proceeded with her operation.

"Alright, Ghosts, prepare to drop in five."

Among the myriad of ground units she had brought, she had picked operatives from the Republic's Saber team and the 228th to assist her own Silver Raiders in infiltrating the base. Under the cover of her flotilla and the tri-fighters playing
weasel, she would have the joint team of special operatives (all rolled under the call sign of Ghost) transported to ground by a stealthy gunship.

Sergeant Valkren Calderon looked to the soldiers beside him, holding his helmet in his gloved hands. He was out of his element, without the rest of Saber team, his team of elite Republic commandos that he had led into the crucible of combat so many times before. As he heard Arisa speak up, he slipped the helmet directly over his head, his visor lighting up into a bright blue flash as his HUD initialized.

The young commando stood up, pulling his assault blaster around from it's position it hung from behind his back, he now let it rest directly over his chest plate, it's sling keeping it perfectly in place. The sergeant was well prepared for this operation as if they were prepared to enter an actual combat scenario. As he stood in the troop carrier section of the stealth ship, he occupied his short time there by checking his fellow Ghost's equipment before their deployment. Once on the ground, they wouldn't have time to gather their bearings, the Jedi would probably want them to get to work straight away.

After he secured the kit of a comrade to his left, he went to work on the communications pack of another trooper, glancing from behind his Visor over at Arisa. It had been quite some time when he had taken part in any combat scenario with a Jedi. It felt strange to him, after taking orders from them for so long in the Republic due to the Jedi order..After the fall of the Republic he hadn't seen nearly as many of the Jedi leaders/commanders, yet here he was, following the orders of another force user.

I guess some things never change

Thoja Arlos

Grand Marshal Contemplation
General Thoja Arlos stood with the other operatives within the dropship. He wished that he was with his men, at least he knew that they could complete the mission quickly. Then again, those he was with now were special forces like himself. The one that stood out to him was the leader of Saber team, who'd been on his radar for some time. Potential 228th candidate, however that would mean removing him from his unit, which probably would cause some problems.

But focus was now needed, and the Jedi had issued the order. Thoja placed his helmet upon his head, a slight flash occurring as the HUD activating, producing the familiar crimson that Thoja had come to love. Checking over his equipment quickly, he made sure that his rifle was ready, and that the stealth feature for his armour still worked. Tapping the correct sequence into his onboard system, he briefly disappeared from view, before reappearing a couple of steps ahead.

It was odd taking orders from a Jedi, more so from one that was a padawan. Before moving to The Silver Jedi, Thoja had been the Grand Marshal of the Republic army, a position he still held, though it's power was no longer as great as it had been. Even as a General it seemed that his power was greatly reduced, though this was a concern he wouldn't voice. The Jedi were the main power, and so he had to follow them whether he liked it or not. Looking round the troop section, he saw the Saber team leader, and approached.

"First operation without your team?" He asked whilst checking his pistol over.

Willa was looking at everything they could get as the shield generator was activated, the ranger's were moving around and the massive facility had what they needed to get. Anti air defenses turrets were going up as they started tracking ships. The commander was getting her equipment ready when she was looking at more fo the things they had developed. Willa was prepared for it going from the main communications everywhere. "All forces begin engagement and find targeting solutions. Air defenses are up first and I want rocket troopers calling out targets and prepared to work with it." The rumbling of the sield was there in the background when she felt the force coming outwards with all of her thoughts to the battle ahead. She was getting her smg's with the safety rounds just in case and the small targeting computers to show it for those that were coming.

The fall of the Galactic Republic really hindered her training as a Jedi. As such, she had to abide by a new master and have a new refresh. Her friend, Arisa was conducting some kind of mission. She never knew about the rangers, until now atleast. She decided to participate with her and started to suit up in her uniform. She grasped her lightsaber and placed on her Sassori necklace. Her Sassori Armour and... hmm... she glanced at her circlet and placed it down, thinking she might not need it. She went towards the others and listened to her orders to drop in to the planet. She was quite prepared. Atlast, something that ISN'T Synthweaving. She really hated that.

The exact layout of the base hadn't been known, but as expected, there had been some kind of deflector shield in place to protect the complex against air strikes and orbital bombardment. The tri-fighters were only able to hit emplacements outside the inner perimeter of the complex. The system registered successful hits against crude fortifications at the very edge of the base, but several fighters would also go down to a hail of AA fire. When a fighter was deemed destroyed by the system, it would zoom out of the airspace as fighter lost for use.

As expected, she learned some things in her initial probe. Energy receptors picked upped on the location of targeting arrays that had been used to track the tri-fighters, and now the massive energy signature that was the shield emitter. When that shield came down, it would be open season on the rest of the base.

The tri-fighters would continue to be used as a distraction as the next phase of the assault began. A frigate within her flotilla would simulate launching several
EWAR missiles in staggered salvos, intermixed with dozens of normal concussion missiles to overwhelm the targeting sensors of the AA with sheer numbers. No doubt that many of the missiles would be destroyed, but she was confident that at least one of the EWAR missiles would make it through to detonate above the base and the range of its shield in an airburst, creating a screen of
nagnol gas to baffle their sensors.

"Alright, it's almost time. Ghost team, I'm transmitting the coordinates of the shield generator now. Your primary objective will be to disable the generator for the flotilla. The secondary objective will be to disable their defense grid entirely."

"It is currently unknown what sort of assets the base has to repel ground attacks, so tread carefully. Bioscanners were picking up a division sized force within the walls of that base. The transport is going to try to drop you all right past the outer wall, but if that's not possible, then you're taking the scenic route from the northern perimeter on foot. Any questions?"

As she issued her orders to the commandos, the first wave of ground forces would be now be dropping from their carriers in individual heatshields. The battalion-sized unit consisted entirely of heavily armed
YVH-1 battle droids. Their purpose was to soften up the defenses of the base under the shield as shock troopers. She expected heavy casualties, but then that's why she started out with droids. Everyone present would be joining the next wave with her Paladins, and another Jedi, her friend Satyana.

Kayda would stand along side her master, the young boy was unaware of what exactly was going on. His Master rarely filled him in on what they were doing when on missions. Kayda held his arms in front of him, waiting patiently for his personal orders from Arisa.

Not wanting to speak out of place; as his Master was clearly busy ordering the other passengers on the ship. Yet he wanted to ask her what they would be doing themselves.

Sergeant Calderon looked up to catch a glimpse of Thoja before he placed his own helmet on and approached him. He offered a quick, vocoded and gruff chuckle in response to the General's question. "It's been the first time in quite a while, Sir." He stated, taking a glance down to his assault blaster after seeing the General study his own sidearm. Seemed to be a habit for him by now, checking his weapons before every deployment and mission..He had sure been on a lot of them aswell.

It was true, he'd been out in the field for almost too long ever since him and his team came back to the world of the living. He had only one stop on Alderaan before shipping back out with the remains of the Republic fleet, and that was mainly to visit his mother and sister. So in truth Valkren had practically forgotten what R&R was, plus he had been out of the dating scene for this whole time. Or..more so the club scene with his entire crew. He quickly dismissed these thoughts as Arisa spoke up, taking his full attention away from the General infront of him.

After she finished giving her orders, Valkren nodded, looking back to General Arlos again as he shifted his grip on his assault blaster. "Look's like it's game time."

Willa kept her attention on more of it as the information was coming to her now. Missiles were being fired at the shield as the interior area of the walls were able to withstand a lot more. The walls were made to attacks and it was easier to have the shield generator protected itself from attacks as they were working to get the enemy ships to set down in the jungle itself. The sounds able to attract the larger predators that stayed away from their exterior barrier. The exterior walls were reporting when the anti air confintued from the two walls giving them a good area of dispersion to stagger it when someone spoke. "We have detonation in the northern section of the shield network going for the sensors."

Willa stayed there until she was ready to go looking out the one section of the window towards the area they were obscuring. "Use the ion cannons and target their larger ships, then start assembling the troopers and position them where we need them. Their soldiers should be coming towards the barrier next once they start touching down. I want shots called and snipers plugging up all of the major chokepoints we have set up. It will keep them from a lot of the defenses." She stayed there looking over all of the things keeping her arms crossed until the rest of the squad leaders in the room were heading off to start working on things for them. Her small space up on the one scout box was there so she could get a full view.

Mabbik sat next to one of the inner walls with his large eyes closed. His fur had turned a soft white and every once in awhile his relaxed ears twitched. It was clear the padawan was in deep meditation. Any of those who could detect the currents of the force would have felt them flowing through and around Mabbik as he drew strength from them.

As he concentrated allowing himself to sink deeper he sensed the defenses going off. It didn't matter yet, the enemy forces wouldn't be his concern for some time. Dismissing the energy surges he was sensing and put his nose to quivering the Kushiban calmed himself. Battle was what he'd been brought up to do, large predators well over twice his size always seemed to give him a focus which somewhat countered his not terribly strong connection to the force. Indeed that was his biggest flaw as a padawan, out of combat or deep meditation he couldn't focus to the extent needed.

As Mabbik sat deep in his own thoughts and blotting out his surroundings troops rushed past him to last minute defensive positions he seemed at peace. The only things that moved was his quivering nose, flickering ears, and padawan braid which swung slightly in the breeze that came down over the walls after it had skipped off the tops of the trees into the compound.

"Indeed. Everyone check your gear, won't get another chance to do so!" He'd yell in response, taking his place in the group. He'd pin his pistol round his index finger before placing it into it's holster. Removing his assault rifle and checking the clip, he'd smile with satisfaction and await further orders.

The Warrior walked out slowly of the entrance of the base. He was clad in his green jungle armor made of metal and the bones of the creatures native to the Felcian jungles with his traditional brown weighted robes rested over them. He patted himself down to ensure the armored was fitted and not tight makes for more agile and brisk movement. It was time for him to give himself a test drive with this mock battle to see if there have been improvements to his person from the talented doctor, [member="Suravi Teigra"] as well as the rich and prominent Ike family. Despite his old age, his body remained youthful and strong with his battle scars removed stacked with his healing factor, he looked like he was still in his mid-twenties though many would never see the difference behind his mask. All of the battle experience of a old veteran, the battle stagger of a new warrior, who could complain about that. The giant of a man stopped in place for a moment and bounced from foot to foot and readied himself after hearing blasts at the inner wall.

"Master Jericho here, status report."

Satyana prepared herself for what was to come. She didn't care if there was any questions in her mind. She wanted to go and get it done. The Mission was definitely clear to her as she prepared her lightsaber with her. She glance at Arisa and did thought of something. "Is there any chance I can draw the enemy's attention for a time? After all, I could try to stall them while the others go and complete the mission." she said. "How about you drop me off and have me stall them, while the rest take the scenic route and disable the shield generators and the defense grid?" She could do with some tanking off enemies. After all, she could take some hits and learn a thing or two with her form fighting styles.
