Invasion Rains of Contruumere [One Sith vs GR Invasion of Contruum]

Vrag

The Second Seal, broken.
Rains of Contruumere
The One Sith vs. The Galactic Republic
Invasion of Contruum

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU8eL2CjzHw

The world of Contruum had been the stage of many a tragedy throughout the long history of the Galaxy, its people subject to slaughter by warlords of ages past, its surface ravaged by countless conflicts. These acts of violence had long left their mark upon the planet, tainting the very air with the scent of strife and death, a seeping wound unhealed.

And like killers oft return to the scene of their crime, so warlords urge to revisit the battlefields of old, to fight and shed blood alongside the ghosts of their predecessors, to partake in that unique flavor of demise, and to carve another souvenir into the relief of time, greater and deeper than all that have come before:

Conquest.

The One Sith had come on its wings of metal and yorik-coral, their numbers blotting out the sun with shadows and sinking flames, had there been a sun that day to shine upon the soil that would soon grow bloated with rain and blood, unearthed roots wrapped in taut sinew. Not even the stars would bear this sin witness, averting their gaze to the doom and decay that now descended upon the world; one final nail in the coffin that had been long in the making, struck hard and fast into soft tissue, everwanting and always inviting.

Ships flooded the skies like a swarm of ravenous locusts, birthing their mechanical and organic offspring alike as dropship after dropship was ejected from the bellies of the hulking beasts. The armies of the One Sith would spread across the hapless land below, a fast-growing shadow that would meet whatever resistance its ancient enemy could muster, and crush it beneath simple presence. Much like a creature cannot hope to fight its nature for ever, so the light could not hope to struggle for eternity, for He is ever-present, and He is all-consuming.
bL5us1K.png
The soldiers, the Sith, the Legion Yun’Do, they would all bear down upon the world with a singular purpose, united in ambition and burning devotion. A fire that would never be extinguished, that could never know the cold.
7oAPYs9.png
They would advance upon the enemy and reduce them to nothing but dust and regrets, forever a memory to haunt the future generations with lamentations of loss and remorse.
hfqVM0A.png
A memory, and a warning. A story to be passed down in hushed whispers, a cautionary tale that could never hope to capture the true horror a mortal heart felt that day, as the power of His words shook the very foundations of this planet down to its core.

crzlNkw.png
In the rhythm of His timbre, the peal of artillery and thunder would resound across the firmament.
3mXFhMQ.png
To the melody of His cadence, the cries and pleas of the dying would ring across the fields.
Bi2xFk2.png
And when all was said and done, the victor would stand baptised in the flame deluge, their adversary broken on the ground before them. There would be no turning back, no terrible dream to wake up from. Just that final fall, the last step before eternal sleep.
O0DesLj.png
No amount of prayer and good intentions could make up for the years of decadence and willful corruption, for the slumber of the arrogant upon their laurels and hollow triumphs. The leaves had wilted and rotted long ago, the bark turned out and broken, nothing more than a putrefied shadow of what they used to be; all that remained was a crown of maggots fit for a corpse and the bloated remains that bore it.

And as with all things, their fall always was and always will be of their own making. The One Sith would merely put the relic of a bygone era out of its misery. A kindness, given to them free of charge, to bring about that final peaceful silence.
4FswOun.png
Once and for all.

Terms:
1. 5 Allies each Faction

2. Only defenses that have been in place through RP up to October 18 or in verifiable Canon will be allowed.

3. For PVP duels:

PvP will determine victory. NPCs may be brought in for background/flavor, but they are inconsequential to the duel(s). You are not required to post NPC headers, as we trust that you won’t spawn pointless NPCs mid-fight.

(E.g. Darth Jeff sics his 300 Elite Sith Supertroopers on Jedi Bob. As Jedi Bob lies dying, pierced by a hundred or so blaster bolts, Darth Jeff comes in and stabs him to death, trying to claim his win. The above won’t be allowed.)

Wins not awarded by matches, but by felled opponents (also otherwise incapacitated, unable to walk away from the fight, or retreating from the engagement) OR mutual agreement between all participants. A participant automatically loses upon failing to respond within 24 hours since their opponent’s last post (barring any agreements between the participants).

(E.g. Darth Jeff faces off against Jedi Bob and Jedi Kate. He kills Jedi Bob, but then Jedi Kate breaks his legs and knocks him out.

That’s one win for the OS, and one for the GR. This also makes sure that uneven (e.g. 1v2, 2v4, etc) matches are still judged in a balanced way.)

4. Two week time limit starting from October 18 through November 1. Opposing Faction Leaders must decide on the outcome. If no outcome can be decided within 48 hours of one side proposing victory, an unaffiliated RPJ will be assigned to us by the SWRP Staff Team.

5. No second chancing the first RPJ's decision. We accept it and move on.

OBJECTIVES:

Objective A: The Killing Fields (PVP duels determine victory)
Invaders (OS): Win as many PVP duels/battles as possible. Winning is defined as killing, incapacitating or otherwise forcing from the field a PC character, or from mutual agreement between all participants of that duel/battle. Points will be awarded for each battle won.

Defenders (GR): Win as many PVP duels/battles as possible. Winning is defined as killing, incapacitating or otherwise forcing from the field a PC character, or from mutual agreement between all participants of that duel/battle. Points will be awarded for each battle won.

Setting: An abandoned battlefield left over from the ancient Yuuzhan Vong war. Weapons and skeletal remains still litter the ground, half-consumed by the nutrient-rich soil. The sky above is thick with dark clouds, and the peal of thunder shakes the land every few minutes, instilling a sense of foreboding in all who tread there.

Objective B: Battle in Orbit
Invaders (OS): Capture the orbiting shipyards of Contruum by defeating any defenders on or around the shipyards. This will primarily be a PVP based objective that can comprise naval and marine/ground troops, should defenders and invaders agree to it. In these situations, the combat would still be viewed from the PvP perspective. Successfully capturing the shipyards is considered a victory.

Defenders (GR): Defend the orbiting shipyards of Contruum by defeating invading forces. This will primarily be a PVP based objective that can comprise naval and marine/ground troops, should defenders and invaders agree to it. In these situations, the combat would still be viewed from the PvP perspective. Successfully defending the shipyards is considered a victory.

Objective C: Taking the Garrison (NPCs determine victory)
Invaders (OS): Destroy or incapacitate the defending garrison. This is a PVE objective that involves troops. Judging elements will be based on casualties inflicted vs casualties taken. The standard writer-courtesy and writing quality elements also apply.

Defenders (GR): Destroy or incapacitate the invading troops. This is a PVE objective that involves troops. Judging elements will be based on casualties inflicted vs casualties taken. The standard writer-courtesy and writing quality elements also apply.

Nerius flipped a few switches, and his ship decelerated from hyperspace. Instantly he noticed a battle already beginning in orbit around the planet. Moving the ship to and fro, he avoided the majority of the blasts that neared. A few pushed against his wings, but for the majority, he was okay.

Before long, he broke the line of enemies, and was descending into the atmosphere.

Jedi Knight Ella Nova lifted her hooded gaze to the skies of Contruum; and they were met with the signs of war. The Galactic Republic had known this was coming- the recent movements at Telti suggested that the Imperial war machine intended to continue it's march to victory- and so the Knights of the Republic had gathered to defend the Galactic Republic once more against the evil of the One Sith.

Lightsaber in hand, the Jedi Knight discarded her dark robe. The snap-hiss of her lightsaber announced her intentions to strike back at the incoming invaders. Spinning the blue beam, she released a victory and waved the defenders forward into the face of the incoming Sith invaders.

Spotting a transport landing in what was the killing fields, Ella spotted a monster of being in the form of Nerius. Slowing her charge, Ella began her approach to the Sith Acolyte to engage him in battle. The Force flowed through her body, keeping her calm, centered and balanced for the Battle of Contruum.

Landing mid the grassy bones of a long dead beast, Nerius rose from the seat of his ship. Climbing over the lip of the cockpit, he stepped free of the wing and landed on the ground nimbly. Straightening Thon's Robes, he glanced up as he calculated the amount of time before the planet was taken.

Mid staring at the sky, he felt eyes upon himself. Without turning his head, his eye moved to take in the appearance of the woman heading his way. Had he not the Robes of Thon on, with the beneficial lightside boost, he would have outright raced to battle the other. As it was, his mind began to notice many of the smaller things about her.

Her gait, the saber she held, all sorts of quick observations that would in the end aid to building a warrior profile.

Continuing to stand still, he let his dual saber hilts slide down his sleeves, each landing in an awaiting hand with a soft tap. The gauntlets of his Phrik armor made the sound hollow, yet he still enjoyed it. Finally, in an almost agonisingly slow motion, he turned and brought his face to the Jedi.

He could leap to battle, but that was not the proper way of doing this...

Objective:Find Verus Cane A
Allies:Republic and their allies
Enemies:One Sith and their allies

Blane was on the planet for a couple of hours now... his search for the terrorist Verus Cane kept him busy for a while, it was part of his duty... to himself and his family, yet... it had to wait now. He could only stare as the beautiful sunshines are dissapearing as the sith fleet arrived on the orbit. Then he felt it.

Hatred, the adrenalina was already into his body, the only thing that said "MOVE!" as he watched the fleet with a cold expression frowning deeper and deeper. He could remember the times of the past, the wounds he suffered, the deaths of his closed ones, caused by the dark siders, dark jedi, sith or whatever they are... it didn't matter, at this point in his mind there was only one thing: Vengeance, it happened again like on the space station, the thirst for battle was taking control over him once again.

"Listen to it my son... it is the sound you will forever hear before and after the battle, silence, it is the sound you will make your enemies to hear when they will threaten you, it is the true music of life." His father said in the past, it didn't matter, he checked his weapons, the ammunition and, of course, Dasy. He then attempted to use his holocommunicator, contacting the rebellion of course "This is lieutenant Blane Nightfall on the world of Contruum, sith fleet is arriving, I repeat the sith are attacking the planet! I need reinforcements as soon as possible. The garrison may hold them back for a time, I will try to offer aid wherever I can, over and out."

He could only hope they will arrive in time. With that said, Blane and Dasy begun departing, he had almost everything with him, his 2 FWG-5, his ysalamari, his Sentinel-series utility belt, AR-47, Knife, Cardinium grenades, Vanguard-series BDU, even the DC-17 hand blaster. he couldn't help but think at the chaos they would create, the chaos he will not allow to happen. "The war is here, but so I am, sith... I am here, the one which's life was destroyed by your actions, the one who will die ONLY if you will die with him... For in this day... I will take EVERYTHING from you... as you took everything from me..." It was the only thing he was thinking about, the hour of justice has come.

Nubica had arrived almost a day ago. She’d done the research. This was an industrious planet with ore-smelting plants and a modest shipbuilding franchise, it was often touted as being the most Core-like world outside the Core, in a class with Eriadu, though not nearly as ecologically devastated. Certainly there was no planet in that part of the Mid Rim to rival it. The fact that it had thus far escaped enemy attention was nothing short of miraculous. That Contruum had continued at its own peril to contribute generously to the war effort had rendered the planet a model of courage and sacrifice.

But now the One Sith had decided to strike. A win here and they’d cut the Republic in two. It was her first Invasion — but she was no rookie when it came to active service.

So she glanced around the abandoned battlefield. A leftover from the Yuuzhan Vong war they were taught about in history lessons. Ancient weapons and the debris of war still littered the ground. She glanced up — amongst the dark clouds, and the peals of thunder, she could hear the war machines arriving, ship after ship carrying the enemy.

Her hand went instinctively to the hilt of her saber and she smiled. This was what she joined the Jedi Order for. To oppose evil on the battlefield. She was no diplomat, or scholar. She was a Jedi Guardian. And the One Sith were about to find out just what that meant.

See, things generally had a tendency to sink into Erebros' wrath whenever a Talith was at a fast food joint. It always seemed to go that way. Here he was, on Contruum, visiting to meet up with his family. Aela and his mum were down planet side, he was up here making sure things were prepped for the ship and for eating at Yum Bunnies.

The Sith always had a bad tendency of ruining his dinner!

SO! Lo and behold, now there were under attack. It was a flashback of Telti over five years ago. Figures. At the very least, he was prepared this time around. He rarely went out without any of his gear, so when the sound of the Klaxons ran out, Micah was ready.

"You have got to be kidding me." He swore under his breath, a comm directed straight to @Vexen.

"Vex! Prep the ship!" She had learned by now the basics of preflight procedures. It was a ways from Yum Bunnies to the docking hanger. Already, the Lepi eared, short short, and white t-shirt ladies and patrons were already evacuating. Standard procedure and all.

Micah shook his head.

This was going to get a might bit interesting.

The One Sith?

Corvus stood on the desolate fields, radiating inner calm. She’d shut down her emotions already but despite the fact, her logical mind played the identity of the invaders over and over again. She was a pragmatist. Sooner or later she’d face her younger sister. If not directly, she’d be close enough to see her — to sense her.

The simple truth was that she was a Jedi first. Foremost and only came with the territory. In reality that meant she would fight Melori if she had to. She loved her and would do anything and everything in her power to redeem her — but she would not allow her to harm anyone who defended the Republic. And duty came before her attachment to her little sibling — regardless of how much she loved her.

Maybe that was why she was thinking of her now? Reports of her sister fighting for the One Sith had abated abruptly. Initially she assumed she had died — but suspected she’d know somehow. Or at least Taeli would — as they shared a Force Bond of some type.

Then she’d heard the rumours that her younger sister was branded a traitor by the One Sith and for a short while had hoped this meant she’d turned to the Light. But no, there was information saying she was now operating solo — but remained a Sith. Which made no sense to Corvus, but here and now it was little more than a distraction.

So she closed her eyes and meditated. She was at one with the Force and trusted it to inform her when she was required to act. For the Sith and Dark Jedi would come. Her hand instinctively went to the necklace around her neck. But her mind was at peace — her connection to the Force deep and calm.

Dark fire rains down from Contruum's skies in the form of the Conqueror's of the One Sith.

Breaking free from the One Sith fleet, Mullarus' hands begin to coat the joystick of his starfighter as he begins his descent into the atmosphere. Around him fly troop transports and other sith starfighters alike. The dark clouds were fightening, covering up the land below them and preventing the pilots from seeing where they were flying. There could be a Republic dreadnought twenty feet in front of them and they would never see it.

Thankfully, there was not. Mullarus and the other starsips began to breach the soft wall of clouds and touched down on the surface. Sith soldiers poured out of their transports and Mullarus touched a button, popping open the cockpit.

Showtime

The young man hopped out of his Blade starfighter's seat and onto the war-scarred earth. He did not wear any special, sith-enhanced armor. He just wore his normal black robes over a flexible sith jumpsuit. The only true gear he wore into battle were his lightsaber and his ambition.

Sith soldiers began to move out onto the fields of battle, and Mullarus followed, feeling dead grass and ancient, half-decayed bones crack beneath his boots as his dark blue eyes scanned the battlefield before him.

May chaos reign upon the Republic today.

They were supposed to be dress shopping!

Figures things never get to go how they were supposed to. [member="Aela Talith"] and her mum Kira were set to have some girlie fun time where dresses were involved and maybe even some lipstick. However - enter a small shaking fist at the stormy weather and the Sith who were now there - plans changed!

Right now, the 1.524meter tall blonde Jedi with the cute fringe was glowering. Nothing like a mum who is rather ticked off at some special mum and kid time being interrupted by Sith. [member="Soliael Devin Talith"] was sure to get an earful later on tonight about it. He would likely draw her into an embrace and hold her while she vented. She would work herself up. He would work her down. Both would be rather sated with the results.

Ah, marriage! The lovely destressing perks it had! At nearly twenty three years of being together, it was easy to see that the two were very much obnoxiously in love with each other. It was rather wearing, one supposed, for their kids, but then again, that meant that they had super high standards on love.

In any event, the point was that in the right here and right now, Kira was not amused. Oh there would be no fancy gear or anything, save the necklace she always wore that Soliael had crafted for her and her lightsaber crafted years ago out of the leg of that big red monster Sol gutted back on Exocron.

So, wind whipping her blonde hair everywhere, short and diminitive in stature, but NOT in omph, the Jedi Master by the name of Kira Talith shook her tiny fist in the air and shouted to any who would hear her.

"HEY SITH, YOUR MOTHER WAS A DUMMY AND YOUR FATHER SMELLED OF ELDERBERRIES!!!'

"Sithspit!" the curse flew from Cho's lips as the sound of blaring klaxons went echoing throughout the entire Shipyards. This... was not good. She was right in the middle of heavy repairs on the shuttle, and well, having a random sith invasion was not conducive on making said repairs in a timely and safe manner.

SO! Quick inventory check. She had her tool box, hydrospanner, Servospanner. a lightsaber, and one QQ-83N Sidearm given to her by Chloe. Okay! She could do this! She could likely...

Her eyes would scan around the obviously panicked individuals who were now storming into the shipyard hangers wanting to evacuate.

A small boop-beep of her astromech droid beside her brought her attention.

"Okay! Arr-Four, time to get a bit creative!"

Stormfall. Slender cerulean fingers would reach up into the heavens. Wide, large, green eyes would quietly study the fat drops of liquid as they fell from the gray streaked clouds above. The Jedi Seer was quiet, contemplative. A deep breath would fill her lungs, and she would close her eyes.

Images rose behind the veil; pain, suffering, and a deep well of hurt. A wound in the Force. Voices danced. Shadows reigned. The Darkside clouded everything. What did it all mean? Where would it lead them all.

Her fingers would curl unto a small fist, the Shi'ido Princess lifting her face up onto the oncoming gust of wind and approaching rain. She felt the current flow over her, ruffling the hem of her robes. In that next moment, the Jedi would sink into the sea of the Force. Further and further still, floating in the depths of the black water that surrounded her.

Drawing her focus, she would capture it all in, weaving that energy, sifting through it. Searching... searching...

Always searching.

Kentarch's Main Theme.

The Black Mercury slid through space. A Phasma-Class Infiltrator, it allowed Kentarch to get almost anywhere unnoticed. As the main invasion force had jumped into the edge of the system, the Sith Lord had already staked out a nice landing spot in one of the shipyard hangars. Unnoticed and undetected the ship silently hovered into a landing bay, the hatch to the ship opened and Darth Kentarch jumped out.

The Sith looked up the ship and gave a nod, then the Black Mercury floated back out into space. Then the ship blasted off to safety where it would wait to exfiltrate Kentarch. Dressed in a black cloak, and holding a Sith Lightsaber, Kentarch reached into the force and caused himself to vanish from plain sight. Using a combination of Force Cloak and hiding his force presence Kentarch could move about without the Jedi even able to detect his presence.

Republic forces had come running out into the hangar. No doubt they noticed the Stealth ship coming through the containment field, but it was long gone, and they had little eivdence of its presence. Despite being invisible, Kentarch had crouched behind some shipping containers. Doing his best to avoid any accidental bump ins with the enemy. His fellow Sith would be arriving soon enough en masse, and Kentarch could use that as a distraction to move about the shipyrds. Peering out over the containers he looked to see if there were any Jedi or Senior officers were with the team that entered the hangar. A few grunts would not determine this battle, and Kentarch would not blow his cover to kill them.

He sat in the Captain's chair of Phoenix Bravo an Anti-Fighter Frigate ready to support the larger vessels in the Vanguard group. Maybe it was the fighter jock in him but he was expecting some heavy fighter resistance. After all is was a common tactic to use fast moving fighters as defensive patrols.

Vengeance kneeled down in the back of the ship. He took deep breaths looking across from him where his Apprentice should be. He had been here way too many times. Speeding off to another planet fighting another battle. This one was different though. Deep in the pit of his stomach he knew this one was different. Maybe it was the force trying to tell him something. Maybe it was just the knowledge that a whole lot of people were going to die. He cared little for the Jedi but his Apprentice however had shown such promise. He was not afraid to admit he was worried about the young man not making it. Then there were the thousands of troopers and pilots to consider.

Vengeance shook his head. He needed a clear mind.

"Vaulkhar." "Get ready." "This is like nothing you have ever experienced before." "To be surrounded by nothing but death and destruction." "I have fought Jedi before." "Do not underestimate them." "Trust in your training, trust in the force and stick to my side."

Vengeance smiled but he knew it would not be enough to conceal the nagging feeling in his gut. Something told him this was going to be a very long day he was not a hundred percent sure he would survive. His thoughts drifted to his beloved Melori. It had been too long since he was last with her. In the last moments before the Captain signaled the exit from hyperspace into real space the picture over Melori in his mind made him smile a genuine smile.

Objective: Setting up, doing surveillance, unleashing cyberhell
Opponents: Republic forces at C

In between running the planet of Csilla as its puppet Imperial Governor and his dalliances with slaver [member="Crix Meriet"], one would think that Cryax Bane, Chiss slicer for the One Sith, would have too busy of a schedule to make an appearance on Contruum for a Sith army push into a key garrison belonging to the Galactic Republic. However, slicing on the battlefield was one of his all time favorite pursuits; he’d even sacrificed a leg on Kashyyyk to the lightsaber of [member="Varus Shatterstar"] for a chance to unleash cyber warfare on the Republic. Even worse, he had to figure out how archaic Wookie technology worked. Still it wasn't like he could comfortably say no. When the Wrath of the Dark Lord, [member="Reverance"], said jump, Bane generally said “How karking high?”

Unlike on Ord Mirit, where Cryax had to fight off his intense, nausea-inducing, phobia of the Legion Yun'Do troops that the Wrath and the Hands commanded, the armies storming this particular garrison were not comprised of hordes of Vong troops. Bane himself commanded an army of ten-thousand shiny new Hegemonic “Chiss” Battle Droids that he’d commandeered from the Chiss Ascendancy. The Aristocra of House Chaf was not pleased at all about releasing the droids to Governor Bane, especially since she'd traded Chiss technology secrets to [member="Gerion Ardik"] for them, but a few vague threats and a promises of clemency later, and the Chiss Aristocra had piped down quite a bit.

Along with his droids, were siege weapons from the armory of the One Sith. Four AT-AWs and 10 Tartoros-Class Walkers all spilled out of their carriers and clanked onto the field. Lastly, Cryax brought a team of slicers from the Coruscant Underworld, all taught by the master themselves. His geek squad wasted no time tapping away on their souped-up datapads, quickly finding a satellite overhead that they could commandeer. It was too bad Acid wasn’t here. His favorite gum-smacking teenage slicer had always enjoyed hacking on the fly. Sadly, Acid was worm food now. RIP, Acid. Great, now he was depressed on the battlefield.

Steering his focus back to the task at hand, Bane ordered four probe droids to hover around the garrison and record what they could. Whatever intel they gleaned would be sent back to Bane’s ARCs, giving him a general idea of the garrison’s defenses. In a matter of minutes, valuable footage would hopefully be sitting in his hot blue hands.

Supreme Commander Ali Hadrix
Republic Garrison of Contruum
2100 Hours [Local Time]
Objective C
Contruum was a planet of mountains and seas, a landscape of rising and falling peaks and depths. The jagged teeth of mountaintops scraped the sky for thousands of miles around, and oceans filled the spaces in between. The terrain was sharp, dangerous, and death attacked from above and below without a moment's notice. The Republic Garrison was located on a large hill tucked within one of these mountainous regions, it was nearly a mountain on its own. It's structures penetrated the ground below and spread like the roots of a tree to the South-West, into the side of the nearest mountain. A river ran through the valley North of the garrison itself, creating a channel of lowlands that angled North-West. A great number of ravines and valleys separated the mountains themselves to the North-West, where the Sith forces were originating from. Their travel through the mountains to the Garrison Valley would be treacherous, and they would be harried by the force of the Republic each step of the way. However, the greater burden was upon the Republic's shoulders, defending the sole garrison that separated the Sith from the civilian populations of Contruum that the invaders sought to destroy and enslave. Dirt roads spread in and out of the garrison, leading through the valley into the surrounding mountains.
The Republic defenses were austere, overlooking the valley below and the mountain clefts in the distance. The Sith would be forced to descend the mountain ridges and enter the valley below the garrison before making the climb to its elevated structures. The hilltop itself was treacherous, large with a wide base riddled with fighting holes and surprise openings from which to fire offensive weaponry. Shield generators were located evenly around the massive hillock providing an amount of protection for the Republic foot soldiers. Artillery cannons were installed as well, among the blaster cannons and leadslingers' positions. Barriers, vehicle caltrops and a variety of other missile emplacements protected the various roads. Once the valley began to slope upward to the garrison hill, rocks and boulders riddled the ground, preventing travel to all but walker vehicles and funneling any tracked, wheeled, or low-floating repulsor vehicles onto the dirt roads.

The fight would be long.
And it would end in nothing but blood for the One Sith.

Ali watched the smoke drift from between her lips before pulling the cigarette from her teeth and exhaling through her nostrils. The landscape was sprawled out before her, snow-capped mountains surrounding the Garrison Hill and leading down long, rocky slopes to the dark valley below. She was standing atop one of the MAT-TE walkers, her rifle resting on the Chanlon armor plating. Night was on its way, the sun would be setting in the next couple of hours. Reports were already coming in of Sith forces making landfall, and the Republic was surely ready for them. Fleet actions had already been initiated in orbit above the planet, and Ali had initiated orders for the A-10 Gunships to make their debut. Their thrumming engines were heard around the area, and six different attack groups had been dispersed throughout the terrain. Republic soldiers were milling about their fighting positions and guard posts, their weapons as ready as their fighting hearts. Forward observers were located in the mountains surrounding the Garrison Hill, reporting Sith force arrivals and numbers and plotting artillery targets.
Communications jammers were located with the FO's, allowing only Republic comms traffic in their area of affect. The Sith would suffer with dispersed communications disruptions, though no jamming job would be wholly effective, and there were many areas they were not able to cover. Snipers armed with anti-tank rifles were located in secret hovels all throughout the mountains. Teams of Republic mountain soldiers were working to set up mines and remote-detonated ambush locations that could be followed through with artillery barrages. Anti-air craft guns were prepped and ready and Ali had been told Rogue Squadron would be operating alongside her own K-Wing bombers and A-10 Gunships.

"We're all set and ready folks," Ali barked, looking over her shoulder to the soldiers standing within ear shot. "You lot ready?" She asked. Several solders nodded and gave her a thumbs up. Ali smirked. "Good." She turned to face them. "Don't feck up Contruum's reputation for repelling invaders." She ordered, pointing with a finger rather sharply. "The last ten fecking battles you had osik leaders running things." Ali jammed herself in the beskar chest plate with a gauntleted thumb. "But now I'm here, and as long as I am, you lot will be, understood?" A chorus of affirmative cheers sounded, none of them too enthused. Ali smiled, she knew these soldiers. They weren't afraid, they were professionals, and now was a time to be professional.

Objective A: The Killing Fields
Location: Contruum
Allies: [member="Barrien Siegfried"] -Galactic Republic
Enemies: The One Sith

It had come at last, soon to be his first true test. Yet this was a battle, not a test. Test wasn't the right word to be used. The One Sith had come, and Aston could heard the cries that weren't there from a thousand battles that were the Sith and the Jedi. While the dark clouds from above shrouded what was obviously an in mistakable battle above the clouds. Thunder rumbled along as he could see what was inevitable, the one sith.

Aston tended to look on the brighter side of things, and when there wasn't in this desolate land beneath the dark clouds. Aston himself shined brightly, while just a padawan he knew his path, and what he fought for. The One sith could not win this day. Aston pulled his hood back and thus tossed his cloak to the side and reaching for his lightsaber.

Aston glanced over to his friend and ally @Barrien Siegried . The Jedi padawan ignited his lightsaber as he readied himself closing his eyes for a few moments and centering himself with the force as he opened them moments later prepared for what was to come.

Kurt Meyer

Let Me Push That Button
Objective B: Hangar 23
Location: Contruum

"Look kid, the ship is ancient, I mean really ancient. When was the last time they actually manufactured these things? 120 ABY?"

Kurt looked down at his feet in shame. The truth was that the ship was old, really old. The VCX-820 was manufactured during the time of Krayt's Sith Empire. The ship was designed as an escort frigate, created to be fast and hard hitting but capable of transporting a little bit of cargo. Kurt liked the ship, though he hadn't paid for it, in fact he didn't even own it.

That honor belonged to the company he worked for.

"Yeah. I know." He said finally as his eyes wandered to the mechanics. "Can you fix it or not? I have deliveries still and If i can't make it out of this system my boss will have my ass."

It was an annoyance, and a pity. Despite its age he rather liked the old VCX. The ship had hardly ever let him down, only failing once or twice when he had been a bit rough with her. This time though it looked like the damage was a bit too big to fix. In the back of his mind Kurt already knew that he would have to replace her, or rather he would have to petition the company to do so. That thought made his stomach turn, after the last time he hated asking the Company for anything. Pricks.

"I can get you home."

Kurt ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah....Alright."

A sigh escaped his lips, and he turned away from the mechanic as exasperation carried through him. He supposed that he didn't really have much of a choice. No ship meant no work and no work meant no money and no money meant no fun was to be had. A loud groan escaped his lips, could today get any worse?
