"Rain" on Upekzar

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

"I'm elated, sis," Taeli said. Yes, this journey had originally been about recovering the and claiming the legacy of Darth Zannah for herself as Sith, but that had changed in recent times. "It's still the culmination of a quest for greater knowledge, and I'm very curious to hear what the gatekeeper has to say and what information it is protecting. I'll be careful though, examining a Sith holocron needs to be delicate work, even for a Jedi Master."

It truly was because the gatekeeper would try and persuade her to fall into the dark side again, withhold certain bits of information until she completed a lesson for example. Taeli would be recording everything she gleaned from the holocron though, and would be sending a copy of its contents to be logged into the new archive at the Lothal academy. The holocron itself, as they had discussed, would be going into her vault on Erilnar ... for now anyways. Perhaps Jen'asha Station might be a better location for this and another recent acquisition she had made.

Corvus glanced around. "I'm glad you found it and I'm sure you'll put it to good use...knowing our enemy is never a bad thing is it? But I'll be honest, I won't be sad to see the back of this place. I seem to be spending far too much time in places strong in the Dark-side of late. When do we ever get a chance to travel to a Light-sided nexus, eh?"

She smiled. Life was never that simple. Never.

"Because we either already live at them, lost them, or nothing interesting ever happens at them," Taeli laughed as they started back along the path to their ships. "Honestly, I don't mind the danger and craziness that traveling to such sites entail, but then I've also been traveling to other places to learn about the Force. You know me, always the researcher, always learning."

It took far less time walking back along the path than going to where the holocron had rested, but that was probably because there were no more challenges in their path.

"Sis, I do have to ask, what other places have you been other than Upekzar that are dark side oriented?"

Corvus smiled. "Maybe I exaggerate." She looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking again. "Andeddu's Keep on Prakith, the Dark-side cave on Dagobah, the Valley of the Sith Lords on Korriban. Some locations on Tython. Those stick in my mind. And a fair few Sith temples that were really Dark."

"What places do the Sith see as particularly Dark? Or Light?"

Knowledge was always valuable. Always.

"Well most of old Sith space is pretty dark, you know Korriban, Ziost, Malachor, Oricon, here, etc.," Taeli said, their ships coming view. "Tython is sort of a middle ground ... or it was before the place was twisted into the Eye's fortress. Ossus and Ilum come to mind of really light places, Ruusan as always. Ummm I suppose Chandrila, as an old Jedi academy world, might be one. Oh Umbara has an old Sith academy on it and it is pretty dark, even the native flora can eat people."

She hadn't been to Umbara herself, but she had done some reading about the place and it was the inspiration for one of her company's new products. Jaxson should be heading there soon too, but that was neither here not there.

"I guess we all have sacred worlds that lean one way or the other," Taeli said, shrugging.

Corvus shook her head. "Intelligence says the One Sith are about to destroy the Ilum caves. No crystals for any Jedi for the next few generations. And that's even if they can be moved off the planet once they claim it."

"And I forgot Umbara. I met Lugus there. The guy we had a picnic with. And it felt quite dark but I was concussed, so probably not in the best place to judge."

"Ossus was special to me - but for what it meant for me at the time in my life. I mean, I'm a proud Corellian, but places are just places to me. Same with buildings and possessions. People. They're important. Family."

"Do you know something? That Sith Corvus, she gave me hope over Melori. Her hatred of me was born out of love for mum and dad. Love. If she still loves, there is still hope. I believe it. There is still good in her, I'm sure of it."

"Well, she didn't even try and fight me so yeah, I have to agree there might be hope for her yet," Taeli responded. "We just have to hope she isn't too far gone yet."

She didn't comment on the unsettling feeling she had that her Sith mirror had seemed to be making a prophecy that the dark side wasn't done with her yet. She certainly had no desire to go back to what she had been, so she wondered if that could be interpreted a different way. She supposed that it could be because as she was gathering dark side artifacts.

"So what do you plan to do next, sis?" Taeli asked as they reached their ships. "I still have more things to take care of, but I would imagine you'll be on your way back to Lothal?"
