GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Ra-Set
  • Designation: Semi-Sentient
  • Origins:
  • Average Lifespan: 300 Years
  • Estimated Population: Inter-Planetary
  • Description: Massive in size and their power, the Ra-Sethave with exposure to force users begun to change and be able to bond with them. The infused energies caused the lizards to grow massive and evolve. With gleaming scales and long whiskers on their face... with protruding bones coming from its head. With fangs a handful of meters long and forked tongue they radiate the lightside of the force.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 10m
  • Average Length of Adults: 1000m
  • Skin color: Dark blue, Greens
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions:
    • Giant snake-like creature with durable plates
  • Races: There is only one type of them
  • Force Sensitivity: All
Strengths:
  • Natural flight: Evolved as both a hunting method and a defense tactic, Ra-Set have developed organs capable of an organic form of repulsorlift travel, much like the famed Star Dragons. They are known to burst out of the sea to escape a potential enemy, such as a Ta-Wa-Ka flying into the air where they cannot be followed. Likewise, they are also known to hover over the ocean's surface, searching for the heat signature of prey udnerwater, before diving down and attacking it's good by suprise. However, their repulsorlift organs cannot sustain their hovering mode of 'flight' for long- no more then a few minutes at a time before they must rest.
  • Amphibious: While Ra-Set cannot breathe underwater, they are highly amphibious, known to easily transfer from air to water and vice versa. Though not as fast as they are when flying, Ra-Set can move with agility at high speeds underwater, making them formidable underwater predators.
  • Hard carapace: Developed as a further defense mechanism, the Ra-Set have evolved lightweight but durable plates of natural armor. The carapace of sorts is extremely strong- able to stand up to even a Ta-Wa-Ka's bite. However, this does not come without downsides, and mentioned below.
  • Heat pit: A distinctly serpentine feature, the Re-Set's boast heat-sensing organs which they use both to hunt and detect predators. This means they can easily track down and follow prey- but it also means they can easily be confused if faced with abnormally hot areas, such as underwater volcanoes.
  • Force Bond: Years of being around force users and raised by them has infused a deeper connection. To preserve the species the jedi bonded with some to maintain them like murakama orchids and it created a unique connection between some. To the poiunt the Ra-Set could sense their emotions and even share impressions and thoughts.
Weaknesses:
  • Poor eyesight: As mainly aquatic creatures adapted to underwater gloom, as well as relying on their heat-sensing organs, Ra-Set have horrible vision- unable to make out much more then light and dark.
  • Weak spots: Despite how durable their plates are, the small weak spots between the hard plates of Ra-Set are vulnerable- the only defense being soft flesh underneath.
  • Destruction: Dangerous and powerful even though it is born from the wall of light at Jar'kai. The creatures while being of the lightside are not entirely cognitive.. they operate on instinct and hunt down powerful traces of the darkside on the planet that is coming to attack them.
  • Force Sensitive: The species is infused with the force on a cellular level and such force nullification/dampening effects from voidstone/steel, yasalimiri or other things can kill them or leave them near death (depending on exposure)
  • Darkside: Being infused with the lightside of the force the Majokoi are highly vulnerable to powerful darkside attacks (similar in style to darkside objects vs force light)
  • Force Nullification: Over time their bodies became dependant on the force. THe larger they are the more they need it and removing it can harm many of them depending on the size. Smaller ones can move around but the larger ones won't be able to move with their sheer mass.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Ambient solar energy and heat
  • Communication: Verbal Hisses
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs:
    • The Ra-set in the culture of the Asobi system are a strange creature often seen depicted in the swamps and near coves on the coast. They lure things in at night using their colors in the dark and then strike taking them down into the water. They are not the largest predators on the worlds but they are skills and dangerous when encountered alone with their small and limited flight. The murals of them show the creatures might have been larger at one point and have been able to fly across the world. The years of exposure to force users and being transported by the jedi to other worlds rich int he force has changed them.. some for the better and worse. Bonding with force users has allowed them to grow massive in some cases for the adults and they will bond with a force user being able to sense their thoughts and distress.
  • General behavior:
    • Ra-set are usually solitary creatures, only being seen in numbers during breeding ceremonies- which are actually quite a sight. When ready to breed, a male Ra-Set will travel along the surface of the ocean, diving in and out of the sea for perhaps days at a time, until it finds a female, who also travel to the surface when ready to breed. Upon finding a female, the male will dive into the ocean and activate the naturally photphospherant yellow markings that cover the males' bodies, giving something of a light show for the female. If the female likes the show, breeding will follow, if not the male may continue to travel the surface for days until he finds another one.

Another interesting display is the hunting methods of Ra-set. Though they will occasionally chase a prey animal through the ocean, their most common tactic is to stay near the surface until sensing a large heat signature, in which case the hunter will hover above the ocean's surface. When the prey, whether it's a school of fish or a larger aquatic creature, comes close- the Ra-Set will dive into the ocean, ambushing it's prey and killing it as quickly as possible. Their preferences on the planets they have been moved to are the swamp lands and deeper rivers with the medium temperature. The sleep at the waters surface coiled moving with the currents keeping their nostrils above water.

Their bodies to not need a constant source of heat but it retains heat and warmth for longer periods of time. They can process and push the air within their bodies to keep themselves warm (an almost natural state of being able to use tapas) while they have air in their lungs. Inhaling fills the organs and allows for between forty to seventy minutes of air depending on the age of the creature. With the older ones being able to hold their breath longer. Their bodies able to float naturally in the water and dangle when they sleep allowing for dangerous predators to mistake them and try to bite them. As long as their nostrils are able to breathe they can be fully submerged underwater.

Their frontal claws serve a small purpose... well two, on the one hand they are for holding the large serpent in place when they are skimming the surface of the water to keep their bodies from disrupting the sediment to much. Their ability to be under the water and wait for prey to come to them (much like an alligator) and use the powerful muscles in their arms to lunge forward quickly as their jaws clamp down on the prey. The second purpose is with the females using it to grasp when they are within piles during mating season. (anaconda mud pits) The eggs that are birthed afterwards are left alone in the mud pit and hatch with the babies fighting for their own survival.

There is no mated couples or things together but generally the females travel across great distances when in mating season to attract the most males to them allowing them to follow. The males might fight for dominance during the season but are usually more interested in other things. In the wild normally when two males encounter each other they are aggressive if they get to close to each other. The females will seek each other out should they catch one another scents fighting to the death or eating each others eggs. The death matches between them can sometimes go into the air with flight allowing them to get stranded on land.

The repulsor organs and parts of them are between the carapace sections acting like small exposed nerves. They are a point of weakness when stabbed or scratched. The thin membranes easily damaged but able to be healed in time. (akin to an eardrum ruptured). It will heal on its own but have scar tissue that if enough builds up over time could prove a dangerous and detrimental thing to the creature. If damaged and on land they can use (albeit to tiring effect) their arms to pull their bodies forward. This is easier when they are younger but as they get older their bodies mass makes the strain on their arms more and more.

Their digestion is slow with the body digesting over weeks or in some cases months larger predators or prey. Relative to their size if they eat some of the smaller creatures it might be an hour and if they eat each other. The Ra are hard or slower to move when digesting (much like a normal snake)
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The history of the Ra is old, they were larger and used by the Go Nagai in ancient times spreading across the worlds for use in the water. Their ability to fly and swim making them a great mode of transportation that was quieter then a ship or vehicle. They fell out of use as the Go Nagai seemed to disappear and retreat from the system to their sleeping tubes on Haven. The species became more primal and secluded slowly retreating within the oceans and swamps of the worlds as civilization encroached upon them. Then as more and more cities sprang up they were found and taken to zoo, as pets and things for some of the more opulent beings. A dangerous creature and something great to be used by criminals who feed their victims to them. The zoo's domesticating them and showing some of the ancient creatures that were depicted in legends of the system.

Interesting creature.

Heat pit: A distinctly serpentine feature, the insert name here's boast heat-sensing organs which they use both to hunt and detect predators. This means they can easily track down and follow prey- but it also means they can easily be confused if faced with abnormally hot areas, such as underwater volcanoes.
Easily distracted: An odd trait to find in a predator, Insertname heres seem to be very easily distracted. When faced with multiple prey animals at once, they are known to become confused, often going back and forth between attacking one of them, and then the other.
Please change these to reflect the proper name.

Designation: Noni-sentient
Typo. Please fix.

  • Amphibious: While Ra-Set cannot breathe underwater, they are highly amphibious, known to easily transfer from air to water and vica versa. Though not as fast as they are when flying, Ra-Set can move with agility at high speeds underwater, making them formidable underwater predators.
The correct spelling of this is "vice versa." Please fix.

Other notes:
You state that they can't breath underwater but it seems that they must spend a majority of their lives there. Perhaps make a note on enlarged lungs that allow them to hold their breath for extended periods of time like a watersnake. An hour would be plausible, considering their size.

On the point of being amphibious, please go into a little detail as far as how they utilize the land. Is it primarily for hunting? Do they seek shelter to sleep in at night since sleeping underwater would likely be difficult as they can't breath there? Where do these creatures bed down? On the shores? In coves? In swamps?

If their natural repulsor organs are harmed, would they still be able to move about on land like a common snake, given their body structure?

Is this a cold blooded creature? Does it require other sources of heat to stay warm and keep it's body functioning?

Please go into a little further detail on differences between males and females appearance wise. Are males bigger than females? Aside from the yellow markings, what else delineates a male from a female? Body color? Different sorts of spines or fins? Fine-ness of structure?

Does it lay eggs or give birth to live young? How many young do they typically have? Are the young self-reliant from birth/hatching or do they stay around the mother for a time? How does the mother tend to her young? Do mated pairs stay together or do they remain solitary even after mating?

As solitary creatures do they claim territories or are they nomadic and constantly following their prey? Outside of mating season would a run-in with another of the same creature result in a battle, or are they fairly apathetic towards one another? (Note: if they keep territories, it would be assumed they would defend their home rather viciously.)

How common are these creatures on their particular home planet? Can they be found everywhere there is water, or do they stick to warmer oceanic areas (likely if they are more reptilian in nature, as they'd die in cold water.)

Out of curiosity, simply because they're in the picture, what do they use their only set of legs for?

Really like how you expanded beyond my questions. The bit about females hunting each other and eating competition's eggs is definitely interesting.

Approved pending secondary.
