GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: R3B3L SCUM
  • Format: Album
  • Distribution: Common
  • Length: Medium, with 5 songs totaling to a 16 minute 32 second runtime.
  • Description: A five song album dropped by a breakout artist and DJ known as "Nine Ball," an alter-ego created by Toby Russen to serve as a deep cover for investigations. The songs all fall under a category of music that could be described as 'between electrofunk and club music' while not sticking to a specific genre. Pieces in the album include Thermal (a club piece), Gyroscope (a slow-dancing piece), Pathfinder (a soulful piece), Cloud Jumper (a club-metal piece), and E.Y.E. (a club-funk piece).
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: Toby Russen as "Nine Ball"
  • Publisher: Self
  • Reception: The R3B3L SCUM album was a sleeper hit, initially starting out it's run as an underground mix of club pieces. After being used in a viral holoclip, the album quickly skyrocketed to fame, bringing the artist behind the album into stardom. While it has wide spread appeal, many find it to be slightly generic, with a few being highly critical of the album.
FORMAT INFORMATION
All pieces can be found sold in album form or listened to over the Holonet. Because of the implications that the name of the album has, R3B3L SCUM has been banned in Imperial space.

CONTENT INFORMATION

Songs:
  • Thermal: A fast-paced club piece intended for both dance and background noise in social establishments. The base of this song was created using sound captured from the explosion of a real Thermal Detonator.
  • Gyroscope: A slower piece with heavy Tatooine Blues inspiration intended for slow dancing.
  • Pathfinder: A soulful piece with jazzy undertones and a less rigid cord structure. This is the least popular song on the album, but has gained a following as a go-to piece to listen to while studying for an exam.
  • Cloud Jumper: A club piece with Heavy Isotope inspirations, combining electronic beats with heavier, more metal-associated sounds.
  • E.Y.E.: A club piece with a prominent funk vibe, intended for quick, multi-partner dancing.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Produced circa 874 ABY, R3B3L SCUM was initially created by Toby Russen to legitimize his alter-ego 'Nine Ball," a DJ/songwriter alias he was using for deep cover investigations. Due to use in viral holoclips, the album was unexpectedly shot to fame, finding a place in the popular culture of the galaxy. It has since been Nine Ball's breakout album, of which he has yet to produce any more. The name was deemed offensive enough to have the album banned within the holdings of the Empire.
