+ Advanced Targeting & Tactical AI

Weaknesses:
- Large target
- Unable to fit into most transports (counts as a "Large" infantry unit)
- Noisy
- Can be hacked, though doing so is easier said than done
- High-powered internal power cell and generator can explode causing massive amounts of friendly collateral damage.
- Weak to heat-based weaponry
- Weak to Ion & EMP artillery/heavy weapons
- Extreme weight for a infantry droid means that it can become very slow and vulnerable without a sturdy floor surface

DESCRIPTION

The R-36 "Rush" is a super-heavy infantry unit used to support light and heavy infantry squads. Equipped with a heavy laser cannon that can also make use of the versatile wrist-rocket style rockets, the R-36 hardly finds itself in a situation where it is totally helpless. The Rush is able to provide cover for friendly troops as it jogs up the battlefield, taking shots at light-vehicles or groups of infantry.

The Rush is a large target and will be quickly overwhelmed if it does not have another unit supporting it. The Rush is a great point defense droid and performs well in urban combat. Due to the weight of the Rush, the Rush can find itself being bogged down by drenched soil and will quickly sink without recourse in water.

Valdus Bral creates these units one at a time with great care. It would be a rare occasion and a large expenditure of resources to see more than a single squad (4 droids) of Rush droids on any given battlefield.

Love droids like this big heavy ones. Just a few things I am curious about. How is it resistant to EMP/Ion damage from light weapons but not artillery and heavy weapons?

Also you say it can be hacked but it is easier said than done, this sounds like more of a strength that although it can be hacked it is hard to?

Also it has an AI within it why isn't that a part of the strengths?

And just a final question how is it so heavy and large but moves fast?

I'm using the same logic as weapons having different physical damage when comparing a rifle to a tank cannon. In this scenario I imagine that small arms ion weapons (those commonly held by infantry) would have comparatively weak energy output when compared to something mounted on an artillery piece. While the droid is hard to kill from infantry using standard Ion weapons, the R-36's resistance to EMP/Ion weaponry is not great enough to stop dedicated ion heavy weapons (infantry based or otherwise) nor ion artillery or larger.

The hacking comment is more of a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that if you're trying to hack it, you're probably not its friend, and now you have to try to hack a very angry very large war droid. The comment is not referencing the difficulty of cracking the code, which I assume would be not child's play, but a professional would be able to manage it. However, the R-36 does not have a "network" connection so to speak, so physical possession of the droid would be required to hack it. It's not controlled like B1 battle droids, it makes it own decisions based on orders given.

As for the AI being a strength, good point. Fixed it.

The speed would be due to the high powered motors that are used for motion. In reference this is about 1.5x the weight of a IRL car and those can reach high speeds. Now that is a bit disingenuous to compare it to a car as bipedal machines are notably slower than those with wheels/tracks. I would say that it is faster than most infantry units due to large strides but significantly slower than the top speeds of standard vehicles, which is fast for how big it is. I can be more specific and/or tweak that. It is supposed to be a battlefield capable droid that can hurdle over debris, run with infantry in the front, and so on. To make it as slow as a Super battle droid (not what you're suggesting, just an example) would severely limit the viability of it being useful.
