Question regarding an existing custom ship

Maybe the factory team can help me sove a question.

End of last year I contacted Queeko´s Starship Emporium on the marketplace to aquire this ship:

Since the shop owner has not been sen in Chaos since early December I presume that the business is cosed idefinetely.

Is there a way to stil aquire the ship when the seller is gone?

I presume for now the tech was already approved at one point or another to appear in the marketplace in the first place

No you cannot use the submission since it’s closed market without the permission of the creator.

Yep. There’s others out there you can also go and make your own custom ship.

OK, so a closed market ship from a non-active player is no bueno. But, is it ok to steal, copy, reverse engineer an approved submission from a player that has not been around for a long time, make any needed permission changes and perhaps a few minor changes but otherwise use the former players submission as a template (given credit as due) or would that be frowned upon and be considered plagiarism. Asking for a friend.

You cannot use someone elses approved submission as the basis for your own without their prior approval, as it is their work. If you can't reach out to the person to get their approval to use the submission, as well as make a custom version for yourself, your likely better off creating your own custom ship how you want it. As long as your not copying down someone elses work. You can draw inspiration from work, and you can also see about acquiring a ship from someone more active now. Theres tons of ships submitted through the factory. Hope this helps!
