DESCRIPTION

Created as an analog to the electronically-based ordnance of the Galaxy, the Pyroclastic Missile is among the new generation of armaments shaped by the Yuuzhan Vong colony of Rodia. Designed to be launched from a Rock Spitter, in the same manner as the Magma Missile, the Pyroclastic Missile incorporated an additional step in its creation within the firing chamber of the Rock Spitter itself. This additional step revolves around the consumption of rocks, minerals, and other like substances laced with a conductive filament beforehand by the Shapers. When the Pyroclastic Missile is formed and subsequently fired, the weapon is guided to the target and collects a charge via the counterspin of the shell itself. After traveling an allotted distance, or impacting a target, the total charge amassed by the Missile is released in the form of a strong, electromagnetic pulse. Depending upon the size of the vessel that this Missile is fired from, which dictates the size of the Rock Spitter itself, the charge can either be immense enough to interfere with the electronic systems of capital ships or be small enough to fry the systems of starfighters. Of course, it will take much more than a single Pyroclastic Missile to drop the shields of any vessel.
