- Remote Midichlorian Scanner: Obliterator Droids are equipped with an experimental scanner, which allows them to identify force-sensitives just by scanning them.
- Adaptive Stress Resistance: Obliterator Droids can make certain parts of their structure more resistant to stress than others at any given time, which keeps them safe from abilities like Force Crush.
- Jedi Killers: Obliterator Droids excel when fighting Jedi (or Sith), as they were designed to. These droids could easily wipe the floor with any Padawan and most Knights.
- Strong: Obliterator Droids are much stronger than most battle droids. These droids could crush a human skull with a single foot stomp.
- Covered In Weapons: Obliterator Droids will never run out of things to kill their enemies with, from their extendable blades on their heads, to their skull-crushing feet.
- Lightsaber Resistance: Obliterator Droids are made out of solid Ultrachrome, which is naturally lightsaber-resistant. A lightsaber strike will merely bounce off harmlessly. Add this to the deflecter shield, and lightsabers suddenly start to look like very pathetic weapons.
- Overspecialized: Obliterator Droids were designed with the sole purpose of killing Jedi, and sometimes struggle against more conventional opponents.
- Singular Optical Sensor: Obliterator Droids have a single optical sensor. If it is disabled by any means, the droid will be blinded.
- Top Heavy: Obliterator Droids are not hard to topple. If they are knocked down, it is very difficult for them to right themselves.
Obliterator Droids are the latest attempt at creating the “Ultimate Triumph of Machines Over Organics” that has been attempted since the days of legendary droidsmiths like Wat Tambor. In other words, Jedi-Killers. The droids that would eventually become the Obliterators were commissioned by Grand Wsjirari Jej Ulchtar. Ulchtar was convinced that he required droids capable of killing Jedi or Sith warriors in single combat for reasons that remain unknown to the general public. The task of creating these Jedi-Killers fell to the Pyke Syndicate’s foremost scientist and engineer, Posati Eriats.
Eriats designed the Obliterator Droids to have a domineering and terrifying presence on the battlefield, or as she referred to it, “The Darth Vader Effect”. Their 3 meter tall frames and unblinking eye certainly achieve the desired effect. She also designed them to have a variety of exotic weapons in order to counter force abilities, such as railguns and miniature rockets.
Only four Obliterator droids were ever constructed. This is mostly due to the fact that Ultrachrome is an incredibly expensive material, and the fact that four would be more than enough to kill any Jedi or Sith who threatened the Syndicate. These droids were designed as follows:
