"You wanna take the Mara Corridor straight up through the Scar Worlds, don't bother stopping to see that Hypergate. Ain't been touched since that business with the ghost bots a few months back. Once you hit Lianna's where it all gets dicey. See, that's right on the NIO's border, at least on the maps. They'll probably be out even further than that what with their new decree and all. From there hop onto the Shaltin Tunnels. If you've hit the Thandon Cluster you've gone too far. Ain't nothin' out there except Brosi, and nobody goes to Brosi. OH! You wanted a smuggler's route? You got another drink for me then Red?"

There's Imps in every sector set to blow us from the sky...
(Hoist her up! Stow her down! Look out for the law.)
But we'll be riding lanes that lesser pilots couldn't fly...
(And we're running down from Kessel through the Maw.)

There's not a route more dangerous to get us to the core...
(Hoist her up! Stow her down! Look out for the law.)
But every risk is worth it for the credits that we'll score...
(And we're running down from Kessel through the Maw.)

The ecumenopolis of Lianna was breathtaking. Out in the Outer Rim it was rare to see city planets like this. She felt that if she squinted enough she'd be able to see the light from the star, which dubiously had the same name why didn't people from the early days of space exploration have better imaginations?) glinting off of the fresh chromium of the New Imperial Academy. That is, if the shadow of a half a dozen ships didn't block her view. There were more here than she remembered. The biggest change was the intimidating battlecruiser that seemed to dominate the traffic lines in and out of the system. With a sigh she ran a hand through her red hair and bit the inside of her cheek. Well, she wasn't much for sightseeing. She'd better be on her way and-

Beep.

"Burn me," Miri muttered before letting her hair fall back over one side of her face. Her eyes fell on the source of her immediate annoyance and potential death. A hail from one of the star destroyers. A little guy, though its bulbous turbolaser batteries told her that it was just as deadly as the others. A little wedge blinked onto her tactical display in yellow. Miri bit her bottom lip, hoping to whatever gods existed out there that it would just go away.

Beep.

She didn't have clearance to be here. It had been risky but at Chandaar she'd done a few hyperspace skips to pass the NIO's interdiction check points where if she had been legally aloud to enter New Imperial Space, she'd have gotten a designation chit or had her Imperial transport authority card updated for her recent travels. She had neither. She thumbed the switch.

"-ified transport. Please provide Transport Designation Chit or ITA Card number. Your escort into the system will arrive shortly. Lianna is currently on lockdown. Any and all transports are barred from leaving the system until further notice. I repeat-"

"I heard you the first time chrom- err sir." There was a pause.

"Transport-"

"Give me a second I'm trying to find it. Damn droid must've shoved it somewhere..." Another long pause. Three more indicators appeared on the screen. Red. Their weapons were active and trained on her. She cursed. "These Imps aren't really fond of second chances are they? Burn me. Storming burn my kriffing salt." Just at that moment, KIX stepped into the cockpit.

"Ah, Mistress O'Hare, its just about time for your-" The droid didn't have time to finish its sentence. Miri jerked the control yoke to the side, sending the Aquarius into a dive. KIX stumbled and clanged loudly against the door pannel before slumping to the floor clumsily in a mess of gangly limbs. Its photoreceptors blinked for a moment before it shook its head and stood, leaning against the door frame for support.

"Mistress!?" It shouted in pure simulated fear.

"We're takinga detour," Miri gritted through clenched teeth as emerald bolts streaked past their vision.

"Man, if I had known patrolling was this boring I'd never of let you talk me into this." Sara lead the way out of the Imperial Academy, hands behind her head and a frown on her lip. This wasn't honorable war. Protecting the peace on a planet like Lianna was a newbies job. Who cared if Lezus and her had only just graduated themselves? They were Imperial Knights! Here to beat down Sith and protect the people from the threat of those who abuse their powers.

There wasn't anything like that happening here. Her Nautolan companion simply shook his head, trying to give her a reassuring smile. "I'm sure things will be fine. We'll head to the front lines some time soon I bet. When they need our help. Right now we should just focus on doi-"

"Holy chit do you see that!?" Sara cut him right off, pointing towards the sky with a wide grin. The signature green of laser fire filled the sky. There was a fight! Or something. A chase? The planet was on lockdown, but was someone trying to sneak on world only to get caught? There were no reports on the com, so it wasn't anything too big. Too excited for her own good Sara took off in a run, grinning back to her now incredibly worried looking friend.

"I'm gonna go check that out! You keep on guarding here, alright?"

"I don't think that's a good idea theyshouldhaveithandle- and she's gone." Lezus let out a sigh before turning towards the couple cadets that had watched them. With a frown he shooed them off. "Nothing to see here. Move along."

Sara sped along the ground in a 'commandeered' speeder. She'd explain why she took it later, if that ever came up. Right now? She watched from below, her eyes glued to the sky as her speeder roared through the air. Too bored, too curious, she was only going to get herself in trouble now.

Spin. Juke. Barrel roll. The maneuvers got her blood pumping, maybe a little too hard. She could feel an attack coming on. The burning sensation in her forearms and thighs as she pressed against the flight pedals and yanked the control yoke. She was starting to sweat and they hadn't even started to enter the atmosphere.

"KIX, our life support system is fine isn't it?" It was a stupid question, she knew what was happening and what the droid would say. She looked to him anyways. Seated in the co-pilot's seat the droid twitched its head as it took in the data from the various readouts and panels before answering.

"No damage to the life support system, though it does seem as though there is a jam in the concussion missile launcher." Great, more bad news. She cursed as a green bolt glanced off their shields and sent the Aquarius careening to the side. She took the big transport into a spin, diving again into the atmosphere now. The ship shook as it took on a red glow. Now her throat was closing up. She could hardly breathe and the fire was consuming her now. She shook violently in a seizure but held on to the yoke for dear life. KIX's chest started beeping and he looked down in surprise.

"Oh Mistress!" He stood up and began to run out of the cockpit. Darkness consumed her and the ship rocketed over the city and into the coastline.

---

When she came to it was dark and the Aquarius was half sunk in silty, polluted water. It stank something foul but she could hear the whir of servos in need of repair and the unsteady rasp of her breath under a mask. The sound of waves and running water, no. She turned her head and saw the pipe spewing green sludgy goop into the ocean. Sewage. She swallowed hard and strained to turn her head again and fixed her bloodshot eyes on KIX who was hunched over a small portable console and some sort of portable med unit with a familiar yellow vial jammed into it, nearly drained. Her head fell back and into something sticky.

"Ah, mistress. You're awake. The hadeira serum is almost finished."

"Just use an injector," she croaked.

"But Madam, your dependency is already extremely high. The doctor said-"

"That doctor can burn salt," she muttered. She was too weak to get up. "We don't have time to-" as if to punctuate her point a pair of TIES screamed overhead. "DD-6 should be able to fix her up to fly, but we can't stay here. I can't be useless like this." The droid's photoreceptors stared at her for a time before it stood, yanking the vial from the med unit and jamming it into his arm like a microrocket.

"This will be painful."

"I kno-YEEEE-ump" Cold metal hands clamped over her mouth. It felt as if KIX's entire hand had just been jabbed into her thigh but almost immediately the burning sensation faded and she felt her breath return to normal. She sat up and flexed her hands. Still shaky, but good enough to blast some stormtroopers. At least now they'd be on equal footing.

Holy chit.

Just watching the fireworks from below was enough of a thrill to last a lifetime. TIES chasing down what she guessed was a wanted fugitive, firing away those beautiful green bolts to take down their foe. It was like watching a holofilm! But nothing compared to this. Her 'borrowed' speeder was parked atop a nearby hill as she stared down at the wreckage. They'd actually shot the ship down! Her com had been constantly alive with trying to find where the ship had gone.

It's crash wasn't the most graceful, but this little outcrop made it hard for the TIES to find it. By all rights the young Imperial Knight should have immediately reported the crashes location, but that would of been boring. She was already so bored of this world and patrol! If she went down and made sure to capture any of the crew alive, surely she'd get reassigned somewhere better?

That's the only reason why she stood just before the ship. Her lightsaber was held in a loose grip, just in case. But this crash looked terrible. Whoever was alive couldn't be in the best shape, right? She grinned.

"If you surrender, you won't be killed. Come out with your hands up! If you cannot move, tell me now."

The sliding of rocks and industrial rubble had given her away. She almost felt bad for the kid, being stuck on the edge of Imperial space, and not only that but from her uniform, she saw she was a cadet of some kind. They really did indoctrinate them young. Limping, holding on to KIX she stepped from the sewage pipe and splashed down behind the girl.

"Or you could rusting step away from my ship." She said weakly, her blaster carbine held shakily in one hand. KIX was definitely the more imposing figure, holding a much heavier-looking weapon aimed directly at the cadet. The waves crashed against the shore, sending a spray of saltwater onto her beautiful wreck of a ship.

"Don't bother trying to call. She's not as beat up as she looks. Her jammer is active in this area and we're so far out of the industrial zone nobody will hear a blaster go off." She really hoped the kid didn't know how to use that lightsaber. Or worse, have the Force. That would just really karking ruin her day.
