The Pumji live in groups called prides that center their community around hot springs in the cold mountain regions of Zanjiani. In Zanji culture, they are considred a regional minor god of good fortune. At one point they were hunted for their warm and water repllent fur coat but now they are generally left alone and sometimes even allowed to wander through and bathe in the hot springs that are the center of Zanji towns and villages in the mountains.

General behavior:
The Pumji generally stay within 1600 meters of a hot spring at any given time due to the necessity of the sulfur infused algae that grows around hot springs as it is the Pumji's main source of nutrients. The feline species live in large familial groups known as prides. Similar in size to most Scarred, the Pumji are cowards who mostly feed off of algae and other fruits that grow in the harsh climate of the frozen mountains of Zanjiani. Rarely they will go ice fishing or eat creatures that have succumbed to the harsh cold.
Generally the Pumji live alongside the Zanji who make their home in the mountains, though never as pets as cornered Pumji make a formidable foe, especially in a group. It is believed in the mountains that they bring good fortune due to their rarity and because they lead the way to hot springs.
History:
Hunted for many years for their warm, water repellent pelts, the Pumji were pushed out of much of their territory as the Zanji developed communities around the largest hot springs in the Zanjiani mountains. As a result the Pumji became rarer and rarer until they became an urban legend and regional gods of good luck. Currently due to the Zanji's small and spread out population their numbers have begun to bounce back and some have somehow made it to Mandalore, though only a very small amount live there due to the small amount of natural hot springs present in the Northern mountains and ice caps of Mandalore.
