Private Psychological Entropy

The Zabrak let out an amused snort, unimpressed with her opponent's choice of words. "Really, Allyson? Resorting to playground grade insults? I thought you had more credibilitiy than to use something so childish." Vaylin's feet began to shift, to tap even, as the woman grew more excited. She might not necessarily feel it now, but for years the Zabrak had thrived off the energy, to a point it was just part of her nature now.

Unlike Allyson, Vaylin was all about fighting up close and personal. Physically and mentally, she was no Carnifex but Vaylin had the strength advantage in this fight. But she was also not a fool, and knew simple brute force wasn't going to be the way to go against someone like Allyson Locke. A person who had spent years of their lives living a lie, hiding in shadows or beneath a mask.

Where ones work became the way they moved, the way they fought.

And that brought a smile to the Zabrak's face.

There was no response to Allyson's final words, as there was none. No emotion remained for Allyson to try and pick at, to draw out an angry outburst from Vaylin. Words would do nothing now, only action. The darkness around them seemed to swirl hungrily, threatening to consume even the light emitted from their lightsabers. Vaylin slinked back slightly, preparing for an attack, only to suddenly turn her lightsabers off allowing for the dark to consume her. It was only then that the Zabrak moved, feet quiet as she dashed towards the Corellian.

But she wasn't unaware of her opponent's advantage in the darkness. But she wasn't going to let Allyson know that she knew that. It was a feint to give the woman a false sense of having the upper hand.

Vaylin had researched K'paur, of their innate Night Vision ability. It was something that the Corellian had over Vaylin, but the Zabrak wasn't completely defenseless in that matter. She had spent years stuck in the dense jungles of Dxun, spending nights evading predators that hunted her down. She didn't have Allyson's level of capability, but Vaylin had learned how to adapt her eyes to the dark.

With a fake dash to the left, Vaylin finally closed the gap. She ignited her main lightsaber, swinging in a downward arc and grazing along the floor. Vaylin flicked her wrist and sent sparks flying at Allyson's face. It was followed up by the Zabrak flipping her shoto into a forward grip, and stabbing it towards the Corellian's right hip, intending to ignite it the moment it got close.

Vaylin was a step ahead of her, and with the shutdown of her sabers, it meant that there was no electromagnetic current moving through it. There was no life for Allyson to manipulate in the weapon. Having to deal with two sabers was something Allyson didn’t want to be apart of. The Corellian shut off her saber as well - leaving the pair in the darkness. Eyes followed the quick moments of the Zabrak. She was fast, Allyson knew she was at a disadvantage in this fight. She had to fight like a Corellian.
As the sparks flew, Allyson smirked, her leather jacket caught the sparks, and at that moment, the Corellian disappeared. The lunge from the shorter blade would hit air showing that the woman had more than just vanished from sight. She had become the ghost, a shadow in the night. In actuality, the Corellian dropped to her knees and slid along the ground, working her way behind Vaylin without the woman knowing.
Soft, tender footsteps made no sound as she crept behind the woman and gave her a quick and hard kick to the butt from a crouching position. Keeping the low-ground gave her a bit more oomph on the attack. It was hard not to laugh at the scrappy style of fighting she was doing, but it was the only way she could gain any advantage over her. The Force Cloak protected her from the woman’s already hindered vision for the most part.
Allyson didn’t fall out of the cloak. Instead, she continued to move slowly away from Vaylin, creating a distance between them. Her breathing calm and shallow as she did her best to remain entirely hidden. It was time to play a little cat and mouse - with a blind cat.

She had known going into this that where Allyson might lack in strength, she made up for in speed. But knowing wasn't the same thing as witnessing, or fighting against in this instance. Vaylin had the experience to adapt, to bounce back when an initial plan didn't work out. Allyson had seemingly disappeared before her, much like her namesake as a Shadow.

The sudden, but quiet shift along the floor had caused a slight gust of air against her robes. Vaylin didn't notice it however, as she immediately swivelled to look behind. It was where she'd go if she wanted to get an advantage. But there was nothing, not even a faint outline within the darkness. Vaylin turned back around only to feel a swift, blunt boot to her arse.

She was sent stumbling forwards, but quickly found her balance. Vaylin snapped around to where the attack had originated, her masked visage scanning the area before her. Still nothing.

Damn Corellian.

And yet, Vaylin began to grin under her mask. Her opponent was fighting dirty, a scrapper mindset. Good, it meant she wasn't holding back and using whatever advantage she could get. It then clicked in the Zabrak's mind, just what Allyson was doing.

"Now, either you've suddenly learned how to teleport and fled with a tail tucked between your legs..." Vaylin's aggressive stance slipped into a more defensive one. She began to casually look around, taking small steps as she tried to listen, but not for audible sounds. "Or you're using Force Cloak."

Vaylin had spent years tracking down and hunting Force Users, be it Jedi to turn or Dark Side users that refused to side with the Sith Empire. During that time, she had learned everything she could. If it was an ability she herself couldn't learn, she studied how to fight against it. Force Cloak was something Vaylin had encountered a few times in the past. The fact she couldn't hear or see a single thing from Allyson was evident of her use.

"My oh my, Allyson. You've really had it stacked against you, haven't ya? Mechu-deru, now Force Cloak? Stifled for so long under the Light, when your true self was Dark." The Zabrak kept her lightsabers off for the time being, ready to ignite them if Allyson decided to lash out with an attack. She had no idea just how long the Corellian could hold it. "Deny it all your want, you were fated to be Sith."

No sight.

No sound.

But there was still one thing Vaylin could use to find where Allyson was concealing herself. Emotions. The ability couldn't conceal the swirling vortex of emotions in its user, and they were currently in a room steeped in a darkness that hungered for negative emotion. And what better way for Vaylin, then to go for the heart.

"Truly proving my point as well. a coward would attract cowards."
