Proposed Government Structure

oUhE3MO.png

Alright guys, here's my proposed government structure for the Grayson Imperium. Breakdown to follow. Any name can be considered a placeholder.

It would be divided into two main sections: the External Government, consisting of the appointed nobles, and a Central Government, consisting of elected/appointed Ministers.

  • The Ministeriales would replace the Senate and act as the Imperium's central government authority. They would be a Coruscant-based branch that consists of elected/appointed Ministers who are overseen by the Lord-Imperator directly. Their main purpose would be to form the laws and guidelines of the Imperium as a whole. I believe each of the Ministries speak for themselves, except maybe Truth. This would effectively be the Minister of Education (propaganda).

  • The Nobility would act as the external government of the Imperium for anything that does not fall directly in the Lord-Imperators demesne. They'd convene under the House of Lords and report to the High Lords of the Imperium (who in turn report to the Lord-Imperator). Nobles would have control of their own local governments, armies and navies and would be free to govern their territories how they see fit, so long as they follow the core guidelines laid out by the Imperium's central government. This would allow the freedom to create unique territories within the faction, but still have consistency for things like "slavery is illegal" or "the dark side is bad".
High Lords of the Imperium - the High Lords would be those with significant influence, such as those who control larger or strategic sectors, or other areas of particular value. Each High Lord would be part of the Lord-Imperator's small council, acting as personal advisors.
  • Dukes - would typically be someone who controls a sector of space or multiple star systems.
  • Counts - would typically be someone who owns a single star system or multiple planets.
  • Baron - would typically be someone who owns a single planet.
  • Landed Noble - these nobles may not hold a particular title, but are still among the nobility. This would be similar to knighthood, where an individuals may be granted nobility for a significant action, owning prominent resources, controlling a large districts of a planet, or various other reasons.

Outside of these two sections, the Lord-Imperator would have his Small Council. This would be lead by some form of 2nd-in-command "Hand of the Imperator" (when not being overseen by the Lord-Imperator directly) and would consist of the top authorities within the Imperium, such as the High Lords. In addition, there would be:
  • Grand Marshal - the Lord-Imperator's chosen military leader. Acts as the top authority for all central and noble military forces.
  • Grand Admiral - the Lord-Imperator's chosen naval leader. Acts as the top authority for all central and noble naval forces.
  • Jedi Grand Master - the highest representative and authority of the faith and Jedi Council.
  • High Steward - the Lord-Imperator's personal steward.
