Promotion of an Initiate to Spellweaver
All new Force User members of the faction are to begin as an initiate and work their way through roleplays and training to the second rank. Every initiate is to have a trainer to ensure their training but their activity in the Open and Private Roleplay forums are at their discretion. There will be times when a trainer will recommend a thread for their initiate to join but in the end, it is the decision of the writer.Key to any trainer-student relationship is also the interaction of writers. Please be sure to do so. When you feel your character is ready for a promotion, discuss it with your trainer. Only trainers can suggest their initiates to be promoted. If no trainer is available, you can always contact the faction administrator to appoint you an NPC for training, in which case, you can consider the faction administrator your trainer.
When an initiate is deemed ready for a promotion, the trainer needs to submit the initiate's name up for promotion, along with the threads initiate has participated in. Please include a short description of the thread (training, faction thread, dominion, invasion, private roleplay). No initiate can submit the aforementioned for themselves or for a fellow initiate. After a quick review, the faction administrator will notify the trainer whether the promotion has been approved or not. If it is, refer to the next post for how promotions to spellweaver are handled in character.
Promotion of an Spellweaver to Elder
As a spellweaver, the character is eligible to train initiates but should also continue their training with their already assigned trainer (or seek out another). Training threads should be handled by the spellweaver's trainer but private and open roleplays are at the discretion of the spellweaver. Their trainer can recommend certain threads there but ultimately, it is the decision of the writer.Training others is recommended but not mandatory. If for any reason, your character is not trainer material, you will not be forced to do so. However, you are expected to further train with your trainer and participate in more threads than before. And while there is no set time for which you should hold your spellweaver rank but more time is expected to pass before your next promotion.
Again, communication between a spellweaver and their trainer is very important. If you feel your character is ready for a promotion. Trainers are agian asked to submit their student's name to the faction administrator, listing the threads done during the student's time as a spellweaver. Please, specific what threads are listed (training, faction, dominion, invasion, private). If the spellweaver has trained others, please specify the name of their student as well. While not custom, writers not the person's trainer, are welcomed to submit the spellweaver's name, but keep in mind that even then, we ask the same thing be delivered.
Once the submission has been sent, the elders of the faction will vote among themselves whether spellweaver in question is ready for promotion. Majority rules the vote and if the voting is successful, it will be submitted to one of the Role-Play Judges who will have the ultimate decision on whether or not the spellweaver in question will become an Elder. If the vote is successful, the Spellweaver in question will be informed by a Board Admin.
If promoted, please check the next post on how your promotion will be handled in character.
