Probing the Defenses ATTN: TSE

Adorned in the Golden panoply of war, Khonsu found himself standing upon the command bridge of the 'Solvognen' when the call to battle had been given. He remembered standing before the tactical table, with his hands firmly clasped behind his back, and his helmet resting on a terminal nearby. His darkened eyes watched with vague interest has his superior officer had listened to the transmission, and silently weighed their options. While they were currently without a contract, many within this portion of the Golden Company had wanted to take it easy, and relish the sudden surge of credits that had fallen into their hands. However, it wouldn’t do them any favours with the Empire if they had refused to heed their beckoning call. Who was to say that they would ever hear from these Sith-Imperials again, should that eventuality come to pass?
Without waiting for his Praetor to respond, Khonsu counselled that they should accept the commission, and pull in favours from a nearby asset to see the mission through to completion. This meant they would be even with the Coruscant Android, but the Thyrsian Cohorts would see themselves all the richer for it. To the Twisuns Legate -- that was more than worth the expenditure of a previous courtesy.

With the decision made, after several moments of silence enforced by wordless order of the Outfit’s Praetor, Khonsu began issuing orders to his deckhands and their enslaved thralls to make ready to depart. It was more than likely that they would translate into an ensuing exchange between these hostile vessels and the warships of the Sith-Imperial Armada, thus meaning they would have to make their preparations before they had made the jump to lightspeed. The fact of the matter was if they had taken the time to recycle their shields in transit, or even draw power from their reactor to enliven their various weapon systems -- it would take precious time away from joining the escalating skirmish.

Not to mention, it would provide the enemy with a stationary target for them to hurl their munitions at. Something that wasn’t favoured by anyone aboard the Sellsword’s Corvette.

When every station had reported their status with a flurry of short transmissions, Khonsu turned towards his Praetor and nodded curtly. Every Sun Guard that was aboard the vessel had reported to their stations throughout the 'Solvognen,' ready to repel boarders if the enemy sought to take this warship for their own. All of the Enlisted Personnel from the Thyrsian Auxilia had manned their posts, allowing their darkened fingers to dance across the holographic terminals that laid before them. Even the enslaved Thralls were ushered towards the crew-decks by lash and rod, finding themselves performing menial tasks alongside specifically programmed droids to ensure that the vessel operated smoothly.

Returning the gesture to the most junior of his second-in-command officers, the Twisuns Praetor ordered his starship to engage its otherworldly drive and accelerate to lightspeed. With a flicker of pseudo-motion, the blunt-tipped corvette had vanished from reality in the blink of an eye and made for the Yavin System, nestled within the Gordian Reach, at speed. Soon, the Golden Company and elements of a nearby friendly task force would find themselves joining the battle against these would-be upstarts who sought to test the Empire’s might.

Upon arrival into the system, the 'Solvognen' was torn out of hyperspace earlier than the occupants would’ve liked by the various ‘mass-shadows’ generated by the myriad gravity wells stationed throughout this portion of the sector. While it wasn’t ideal and had given the Praetor an excuse to curse and swear in his native language, the Thyrsian’s found themselves in an ideal location. To which, they could use to their advantage, in assisting the Sith-Imperial Armada and their soon-to-be-arriving allies with long-range targeting data. This would allow for the next wave of reinforcements to translate where they would be most effective, and able to inflict the greatest amount of damage possible - before either succumbing to the firepower that would inevitably be directed their way or leave nothing but molten slag in their wake.

Whilst the various officers of the Thyrsian Auxilia went about their calculations, cross-checking the information with the ship’s primary computer core, Khonsu found himself directing his attention towards the Navigator at the helm. The man had issued a command to see that the Corvette’s massive solar sails were deployed, and oversaw the armatures extension with practiced ease. It wasn’t the first time that the man had seen to his duties, nor performed them admirably, and the Legate doubted that this would be the last time he would follow through with such tedium.

The deployment of the Solar Sails would allow the blunt-nose Corvette to run silently throughout the void, as they’d be carried aloft by the swirling solar-winds cast forth the Star that gave its namesake over to the entirety of the system. With minimal ionic readings to betray their position, it was doubtful that any weapon - especially those that belonged to the twinned hostile fleets - would be able to track their position from so far away and launch an attack to dissuade their advance into the system. They were, in many ways, free to roam about the stars unmolested by enemy munitions. Well, that was until they had reached their intended destination, retracted their solar sails, and revealed themselves to their newfound foes.

Until that moment would come to fruition, Khonsu was ordered to take his Legions below deck, and reside within their gunships. There they would wait till the appointed hour had arrived, and would cast themselves out into the void - either to board an enemy vessel and lay claim to it as their own, or defend their mobile berth from harm. Regardless of what path fate would drive them towards, the Sun Guard carried out his command with all the authority he could muster and housed himself within the armoured husks of their purring transports. It was only a matter of time, now. With the gravity wells engaged and the various astronavigational hazards that were rife within the Gordian Reach - there was no possible way these interlopers could escape from the Yavin System with their lives.

When these Gnats had translated into the system with the intent of causing harm against the Sith Empire - they had reverted to what would eventually become their grave...
