Intent: To make a ship for pirates
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Tenloss Sydicate with permission from @[member="Popo"]
Model: Privateer-Class Frigate
Affiliation: Xeni Kraylu, Scum and Villainy
Modularity: Yes, the Frigate is intended for a similar audience that the CEC freighters are made for, an underworld of illegitimate traders always looking for new things to do. Thus the ship is like an engineering child's toy, many of the parts are removable, interchangeable, some are even addable, but power constraints limits how much one can add without adding another power generator or simply getting a stronger one. Due to this the frigate is highly customizable, but major modifications would require a unique ship entry.
Production: Minor
Material: Durasteel, Transparisteel
Description:

The Privateer-Class Frigate refers to the polite-name for it's customers, usually pirates. One of the largest ships dedicated to piracy it sets itself ahead of the pack by coming equipped with two Gravity Well Generators for pulling ships out of hyperspace, allowing for surprise attacks along trade routes and easy catches. Due to the power constraints of said gravity well generators however the Privateer does not have equal armaments or hanger size for a ship in it's classification, which is deemed as an acceptable trade-off as the Privateer is not intended to engage capital ships at all, rather preying on weaker ships and making lots of smaller catches.

The down-size of using an interdictor to conduct raids however is that you're simply pulling ships out of hyperspace, you don't necessarily know what's coming. You could get a shipment of freighters heading to the banking clan, or you could get a Republic patrol fleet. Thus no corners were cut when it came to the engines or hyperdrive of the ships, allowing for it to make a quick escape if necessary, or a quick ambush if opportunity presents itself.

The weapons of the Privateer are rather simple and straight forward. 2 Heavy Turbolasers to take down shields and deter other 'privateers' from muscling in on your catch, 2 Ion Cannons to disable enemy systems(After all, there's no money to be made in scrap metal) and a few sets of Quad-Laser Turrets to deter enemy fighters as well as take on smaller craft. Some pirates prefer to change out the Ion Cannons for http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Conner_net]Conner Net launchers(6 cannisters each), but it's not a standard edition. The Hanger however is decidedly less simple. Their is no standard layout of ships, as privateers don't all wear the same stripes, so there is no real way to tell what exactly one is carrying inside it's hanger bay. Most keep a few squadrons of starfighters and interceptors, a few shuttles or boardings pods for boarding target crap and a few gunships to assist in a fire fight in space or air. Most are filled with publicly available ships but it's not unheard of for a good pirate to get his or her hands on some military grade fighters with luck, effort, or daring.

Though the most reinforced areas of the ship are of course the cargo holds, the Privateer also houses an uncommon number of detention cells for a ship it's size, about 40% more than average. This is if the crew stumbles upon a ship with high-value passengers, or in case of taking prisoners from an enemy raider. As a result their detention cells are also noticeably smaller than average, and thus taking prisoners of larger species, such as a Herglic or a Wookiee, is much more difficult, if not impossible, but most are fine with the trade-off. The detention cells are not designed to hold Force-Sensitive prisoners, or commandos, or similarly trained adversaries, and a talented man can usually find his way out if his guard gives him a moment of freedom.

I'm really hesitant to approve two grav-wells on a ship this size however they come with a massive reduction in defensive armament as well as the removal of a fighter squad in addition to what's generally considered sub-par shielding.

Approved pending secondary.
