Private Price For a Mother's Love

It didn't take much research to find out what at least one of her children were up to. The holonet was filled with articles of the Elysium Empire and her daughter's marriage to it's current King; Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun . The Empire was growing and seemed stable. Alliances were being built, but lurking in the shadows there were enemies as well. Kay didn't know how much about politics the young King knew, but she was certain that her daughter didn't know enough. And it wasn't as though she wanted to teach her daughter about politics either.

At least not yet....

But there was certain safeguards that she could put in place in the meantime that could help protect her daughter from dangers both within and outside of her little Empire.

Looking at her holotablet, she thought long and hard about who to contact. Many that she knew were dead or completely out of reach, while some wouldn't even care. Yet there was one possibility that came to mind.... Strider Garon Strider Garon . If he was still alive she could maybe ask for a favour or pay him if need be. She was certain his cost would be high and whatever it was, she knew she'd have to pay it. A mother's love knew no bounds, afterall.

Kay penned the ol' Mando a message:

~Hello Strider old friend,

This is Kay Arenais. I have a proposition for you. If you are available, then please come to my shoppe on Altiria/Annaris. It's called the Sphaera Tea Shoppe. But don't worry, I won't be making you drink any tea. It's in neutral space, so all should be well.

Please let me know if you'll come.

Kay~

The old man sat in the wooden chair across from the bed that was currently occupied by a sleeping zeltronian. He puffed on his cigar as he focused on her petite form only slightly mask by the light sheet of the bed. He felt envy for her youth, it was very early in the morning and He had already been up multiple times in the night to relieve himself in the refresher. What he would give to sleep a full night away. The benefits of youth have long escaped him, leaving him with the curse of old age. Most mandalorians were blessed to die in battle within there formidable years, to never get old and be witness to one's own deterioration.

Strider's holopad beeped, signalling incoming message. He placed his cigar securely onto the lip of the ashtray while reaching for the holopad, curiosity on who was contacting him. He had been out of the limelight for a long time, spending most of his time planet side on Zeltros recovering from Cancer. His stomach looked like a jigsaw puzzle from the multiple surgical incisions, which blended beautifully with the rest of the scars that littered his body. He scrolled down to the message alert that had the Sender as Kay. His curiousity now as greatly peaked. Clicking on the message, it was brief and straight to the point and so was Strider's Response.

((On my way)))

With that Strider closed his holopad and rose from the Chair. He silently collected his kit and left what was owed too the Zeltonian on the dresser.

Strider Garon Strider Garon 's message came quicker than expected. He must not have been busy. And he was on his way. That was a good sign. He could easily have ignored her message and brushed her off like so many have done.

But maybe this is part of what Veiere's ghost had told her. Things would fall into place and the purpose of her second chance at life would be revealed. It felt right anyways.

Kay kept to her normal duties while she waited for Strider to arrive. How long it would take she didn't know for she had no idea of his whereabouts. Nor did she know how long he'd stay. He could end up taking on her proposal and leaving straight away. Or he could linger for a night or two. So she prepared a room for him as well.

Now it was only a matter of time.
