STRENGTHS
- Starfighter Superiority: With the speed and maneuverability of this starfighter it is well-equipped to combat most starfighter classes in combat dogfights.
- Sensor Fooling: The Nutorium lining the ship is outfitted with is makes automated weaponry and electronic devices less ideal for targeting this ship.
- Blaster Resistant: Energy and plasma weapons will have a difficult time penetrating the Phrik deflection panels that make up over fifty percent of the ship's hull. The Phrik in these areas has been specially reinforced to defend key areas of the ship.
- EMP/ION Resistant: Thanks to Freebirds Industries Ionite Laminate EMP/ION weaponry will struggle to pierce this ship's defenses. However the Laminate is not a complete fail-safe making the ship only resistant to a certain point. Continuous sustained assault on the ship can result in systems failure.
- Difficult Flight Control: The Predator Starfighter is an extremely difficult ship to master. As it's standard flight speed is much faster than the conventional starfighter's most pilots are not well adjusted to the ship and perfect piloting takes years and specialized training. This means the pilots of these ships are also an important component to an exceptional starfighter.
- Hyperdrive: This starship has no Hyperdrive. For deep-space travel it must be loaded onto a larger transport whip with Hyperdrive capability. This also means this ship has no emergency-exit capability in a dire situation.
The Predator was designed to support and defend Illyria's growing trade network. As the planet was progressing into deep-space travel and commerce there became a need to combat any threats to trade vessels. The Starfighter was designed with a sleek, modern structure to better facilitate the difficulty of taking the fighter down with direct weaponry. With a titanium frame and the lack of a Hyperdrive the ship is relatively light. The ship is outfitted with standard weaponry, outfitted by Roble Manufacturing. Dynetech made sure the ship, while expensive to manufacture, was an exceptional class of starfighter, able to enter combat at a moment's notice.
