Missed me, Missed me, now we got a history!

Ellie slipped over the arm of the couch and into a casual sit, picking up the device. "No, it's cool." She promised with a grin. "I can handle negotiations pretty okay. Just because I'm young does't make me an easy mark!" Turning the testing device over in her hands, Elanor gave it a pretty comprehensive examination just to sate her curiosity before withdrawing a strip from the side for her own use. "Once I started showing him galactically trending costs for identical work on my model cross-referenced with parts and labor quotes from nearby Silk dealerships, he pretty much gave up on trying to haggle." If there was one thing to be said for Ellie, it was that she wasn't afraid to do her homework. If there was a second, it was that she very rarely gave anything less than all of her attention.
She pricked her finger and let a couple drops of red stain the testing strip, sliding it into a notch as Tobias had done. "Oh! My mom says 'hi'. She wants me to bring you 'round for Independence Week, to see the fireworks." Elanor explained as she set the test down so it could do it's work. "You don't have to come if you don't want, but she always makes so much food that the leftovers stink up the fridge for weeks afterwards." Ellie laughed. "It's like she was always cooking for the son she never got, I guess!" After a minute, the testing device beeped and reported it's findings on a digital display, beside a green light. They had a high percentage of matching DNA - slightly more than was usual for siblings, in fact, but within the typical margin for error. As they certainly weren't twins, it likely meant (to Ellie's understanding) that they simply had inherited similar genetic structure. "See? Technology reveals what the heart knew hours ago, Toby!" Ellie chirped, leaning forward with a bright grin. "We're siblings - you, sir, are stuck with me, now."
