Public Play Us a Song

Location: Taanab, Vercopaanir (A lot bigger now, but needs an update)

Leddie smiled a bit as she stood near the front of the relatively small tavern. She was up there with a rag-tag bunch, not uncommon at Vercapaanir given her clan's tendency to pick up basically anyone who needed help. From slaves and refugees to folks just looking for work. The Zabrak Mandalorian was a bit more focused on the music right now though, and her Bes'bev was up to her lips as she began to play her part, fingers quickly fiddling over the her instrument to get the sound just right, and would start dancing a bit to the music. She would continue to play until the end of course, and smile as she took a breath at the end. She loved doing stuff like this when she could. Just, playing music and enjoying some time. Leddie then looked around at folks there, smiling a bit more.

"Hope you're enjoying the music folks. We need a quick break, like.... ten minutes? Yeah. That." She'd jump off the stage, looking around as she did.

Having time off for the first time in forever Gabriel had decided to go camping, he had heard Taanab was a nice place to go and so he'd bummed a lift there for some camping and relaxation. Driving up to the small town in a rented speeder with the back of said speeder packed full of camping gear and packing out of the way Gabriel got out and walked to the tavern for a drink and to see if they possibly have a room for the night. Entering the tavern as the music died down he made his way to the bar.

"Greeting sir could I get a drink and do you have a spare room for the night?" Gabriel inquired "Also do you perhaps know of any good places for camping around here?"

Leddie had started to head to the bar to get a quick bit of food and something to drink before the next bits of music, and would quickly notice the new person there. The bartender, a Quarren in what was an old flight jacket. He looked at the man, pulling out a glass.

"Well, for the drink depends on what you want. I have a couple of rooms, but as for camping.... Might be difficult nearby unless you wanna camp with the livestock. I'd say you have go pretty far.... One sec. Leddie! The usual?"

"Yeah. Gotta get it and go for the next set." The Quarren chuckled a bit, looking at a human woman behind him.

"Can you handle her Lihira?" She simply nodded, giving a hand motion before getting some things, and the Quarren turned back. "I can probably grab a map or something for ya."

Waiting patiently so not to appear rude as the bartender spoke to the young Zabrak no older than 15 if Gabriel had to guess.

"If you've got whiskey I'll have that unless theirs a local drink you recommend?" Gabriel replied "Thank you for the help sir. Do you need a hand with anything by any chance? I don't much like sitting on my hands with nothing to do"

The Quarren chuckled a bit.

“Well there is Tihaar if you ask the Mandos, but it might black you out for a day. Whiskey I can do though.” As he poured a shot of whiskey, Lihira pulled out some food, and a glass, putting it all where Leddie was sitting. She smiled a bit, quickly pulling out some credits.

“Thanks. This all smells good.” The woman gave a silent smirk and nod before taking care of something else, or she was before she heard Gabriel ask for help, getting him a look from her, Zali, the Quaren, and Leddie. She’d curiously peek over the bartender’s shoulder while Zali spoke up.

“Honestly not use to anyone asking that. Honestly if you could just keep your room clean I think that’d be a welcome change.

An're listened to the music in the tavern, taking in the atmosphere as she cradled her drink in her hands. She was sat at a small table with her back to the wall, watching the rest of the patrons enjoy their respite.
She had decided to land on Taanab simply because she didn't know what else to do. The few smuggling jobs she had been able to find in the past few weeks had only earned her enough credits to keep her ship running, and she had all but run out of food.

Vercopaanir was a farming outpost, seemingly inhabited mostly by Mandalorians. The conversation in the tavern was a mix of Basic and Mando'a, and although she couldn't understand the Mando'a, the sound of constant chatter was comforting after weeks of quiet. An're liked big crowds. She liked being able to blend in.

The music stopped and she watched the Zabrak musician walking towards the bar. She seemed to strike up a conversation with a large, muscular man, covered in scars.

One more drink, An're decided. Besides, she wanted to hear more music. She drained her glass and stood up, ready to head back towards the bar.

Leddie quickly finished up her food, half listening as quickly started running to the stage again. She'd run past An're, a bit too quick. "Oh! Sorry." Leddie was a tad flustered for a second before getting back to the stage. She looked over at the others, smiling a bit as she got readying her Bes'bev again. As they started playing, with a Zygerrian girl and Human boy quickly taking to sing. Zali looked at Gabriel and chuckled a bit, pulling out a small glass and pouring the Tihaar in it and sliding it up.

"Well of course. Started as a Mando outpost. A lot of us ended up joining under Gred Fleet running from, well a lot. Sith and Hutts tend to think twice when you have a full fleet watching your back. A few of us know better than other...."

At the same time, as An're came to the bar, Lihira would see her, pulling out a quick list of food and drinks before giving the twi'lekk a curious look. She'd test a couple of signs to ask the young woman's name, seeing if she'd understand before either signing or pointing at what they had to eat and drink.

A look of surprise appeared on Gabriel's face as he spotted the Zygerrian child as he had not seen one for many a year and as far Gabriel knew they tended to keep to themselves unless they were conducting "business".

"I can honestly say I'm growing fond of this little town so far and I wish I had found a place like this when I ran from Eshan" said Gabriel said "Is it always this lively?"

As the twi'lekk approached the bar Gabriel gave a polite nod towards her.

On her way to the bar, the young Zabrak rushed past her, bumping into An're.

"Oh! Sorry." The Zabrak gave her an apologetic look before running back up to the stage. An're was surprised, but called out "It's okay!" behind her, hoping the young woman had heard.

An're managed to order a drink from the woman behind the bar, communicating by pointing at what she wanted. She wasn't sure how to talk to the woman immediately, but she ordered herself the same again without too much trouble.

The muscular man she had seen before was engaged in conversation with the bartender. She heard him say something about running from Eshan. She frowned, trying to remember what she knew about Eshan. Not much. It was on the outer rim, but she wasn't sure what was even on that planet

The man gave her a polite nod, which she returned.

"What's on Eshan that you're running from?" She asked.

Taking a sip of Whiskey in order to gather his thoughts before answering.

"Well Eshan is home to the Echani if you didn't know, I'm half Echani on my mothers side however due to circumstances I was raised by the government. 10 years when by and I was being bullied by kids my own age for awhile for reasons I've never figured out, unfortunately it turns out I'm force sensitive and it chose the worse time to make itself know and during a nasty beating I accidentally drove the kids beating me mad with terror with the aid of Force Horror and being a kid at the time i ran"

Zali looked between the two, listening carefully as Lihira listened in quietly as usual.

“Dang kid…. No one should have to go through that. Eagan’s a world that’s seen a lot over the years, so I was somewhat worried what exactly it was that happened.” The quiet young woman seemed to do some signs directed at Zali, which caused the Quaren the sigh a bit.

“I wasn’t there, but news got around fast. That’s all.” He then looked at Gabriel. “But either way, but I’m glad you like the place. We aren’t always this busy, but an escort group got back so they’re celebrating.

Leddie, meanwhile, smirked a bit as she looked out at everyone, tapping a bit she spoke up.

“I’m guessing we have some Concordia crew here, so I think you’ll like this.” She would kick off with the sharpened flute, with the others quickly joining in to the tune.
