  • Charge Time: While the basic shot is fairly potent against infantry it needs a three second to charge between each single shot, five seconds between each three round burst, and more powerful anti-vehicle shots require about ten seconds of charge time and consume a much larger amount of ammunition.
  • HUD: If the HUD of the wearer is compromised or disabled, the weapon is much more difficult to use and must be carried like a normal carbine or fired directly forward.
  • Explody: Its got Isotope-5 Fuel rods, if they were to become severely damaged or compromised, they could violently explode.
DESCRIPTION
Darzhur’s Plasmacaster is a relatively simple design based on Mandalorian K’uur Jurkadir shoulder mounted disruptor and ancient Isotope-5 Fuel Rod enhanced blasters used by the Hutt Cartel during the Great Galactic War.

First, the controls of the Plasmacaster are linked to a HUD, allowing the wearer’s eye movements to control the aiming and firing of the weapon. A targeting reticle appears on the HUD in line with the weapon’s crosshairs, capable of tracking moving targets with excellent accuracy. When not in use the weapon retracts and collapses into a discrete placement on the shoulder-mount.

The weapon itself is a Particle Beam Blaster, firing powerful unstable bolts of energy that violently explode on contact with an object rather than deflect or dissipate. Secondly, the weapon uses an Isotope-5 Fuel Rod to significantly boost its firepower and destructive capabilities. The weapon is comparable to many tripod mounted weapons in terms of firepower, like the E-Web or M-45.

However it has a charge time of about three seconds between each bolt as the weapon recycles and overcharges its capacitors. For short bursts, the weapon can charge to fire short three round bursts, but these bolts aren't able to independently target. The weapon doesn’t really hold a charge for very long, meaning that it can’t be snap fired immediately when combat begins but instead. If allowed to charge for about ten seconds the bolt consumes more energy and becomes more potent, allowing the weapon to be used as a moderate anti-vehicle weapon.

Given the power that this thing puts out in relation to size, weight, and range, this thing is a bit imbalanced. We'll have to fix that before moving forward.

This is too high. You've effectively got an anti-vehicular weapon that weighs as much as a standard blaster rifle. Please reduce dramatically.

I'd really like to see a little bit longer cooldown between shots. Offhand, one every three seconds for a standard bolt seems about right, with a longer delay for anti-vehicular shots.

This is significant enough that it needs to be listed as a strength.

Once you've got those edits complete, give me one more good weakness and you should be good to go.

I increased the Weight to 6kg. A minor increase in the grand scheme of things, but its now equivalent to the DXR-6 Carbine in weight and length and I added a three round burst option at increased time.
Is that, coupled with the use of Isotope-5 Fuel Rods (And that inherent Weakness) sufficient to keep 50 shots.

I think 30 is a nice middle ground. That's still a lot of ammunition for a powerful weapon such as this, but it brings it closer to balance.
