Xoff Chantin — Holding Cell
I HOPE THIS HURTS

Outfit: Something Nice

The food was perfect, artfully arranged, precisely paired with flattery. This wouldn't do. Xoff needed to regain control of the situation, to get the upper hand one way or another.

He needed a power move before he could negotiate a trade of information. Dignity intact or not.

It was positively criminal, the most devilish thing he could think of. But he was a criminal after all.

Xoff looked up on the perfect feast before him, and asked a small favor of the angel of Valendale.

"Actually, could I have some Ketchup?"

"I can see if the kitchen has any in stock for you,"
Matthew offered gently, moving to step out. He didn't seem the least bit bothered by the request — in fact, he almost looked pleased by it, though it was hard to tell beneath that strange, composed neutrality he carried like a second skin.

"If you'll excuse me."

He passed Roten a look on the way out, meeting the young man's gaze for a beat before casting a brief glance back at Xoff, then slipped through the doorway. Down the hall, the security door hissed shut behind him.

Matthew had indeed... left the cell door open.

And just like that, the towering man was gone , and with him, the low, radiating warmth his presence had brought. The air somehow felt cooler in his absence.

Xoff Chantin — Holding Cell

"My comfort media is Hutt Smut"

At least the biggest threat to Xoff's composure was out of the room.

And the droid started talking again.

"Sushi." Xoff replied belligerently.

Xoff stared incredulously for a moment. The droid really seemed to be trying it's hardest at... Whatever it was trying to do. Hospitality protocols?

Numerous snarky or mischievous answers popped into Xoff's head, but frankly, he was struggling to keep up the snark. His mind went back to the Holorecording of Jobbi.

"I don't know. Lady Velvet or something." Xoff replied, feeling more drained. Perhaps the critiquing had gotten to him.

Xoff stuffed a few ketchupless pieces into his mouth and got up, walked over to the bunk and slumped into it.

The droid was, of course, still present.

Xoff turned over to face the wall instead.

He was not sulking. He was...

He was sulking.

Rain fell in sheets across the shattered ruins, plastering her robes to her skin and casting a silver gleam over the scorched stones. She stood alone, lightsaber unlit, heart pounding louder than the thunder that cracked above them.

He was waiting for her...cloaked in black, eyes glowing faintly beneath the stormlit sky. His saber hung loose in his grip, humming low and red like a warning not yet spoken. She should have been afraid. But all she felt… was drawn.

"You shouldn't be here," he growled, voice rough as gravel, like it hurt him to speak. "You're everything I swore to destroy."
She didn't answer. Instead, she stepped forward, the rain whispering over her skin, her hand reaching, just barely toward his chest. Her fingers hovered inches from the soaked fabric clinging to muscle and scar.

"Then why haven't you stopped me?"
His breath hitched. Lightning danced behind them. Her eyes searched his, daring, gentle, trembling. He raised a hand slowly...slowly enough to stop himself...until his knuckles brushed her cheek.

His gloved knuckles lingered against her skin, just for a moment too long. The tension between them stretched, breathless and electric, tighter than any drawn saber. Her heart thundered in her bosom.

"You always hesitate," she whispered, her voice barely audible beneath the pouring rain. "But not with me."

His hand dropped, balled into a fist at his side. His jaw clenched like he was fighting the urge to say something, to do something. Anything but walk away.

"You make me weak," he said, the words almost drowned by the wind. "And I hate that."

She didn't move, instead just watching him with those wide, steady eyes full of things he didn't know how to fight. Forgiveness, and hope. A kind of softness that had no place on a battlefield.

"Then stop coming back to me," she said gently.

It wasn't long before the pearl-nettled, winged man returned, a large ramekin of ketchup cradled in one hand. He hadn't been gone more than a few minutes.

"You've hardly touched your food," he observed softly. "Poor thing. You must have really wanted this."

He set the ramekin down with care, his movements unhurried. With a quiet rustle, he removed his long cloak, then slipped off his gloves, folding them neatly and placing them aside.

"Perhaps you're used to being treated a certain way," he murmured. "Here… allow me to help you.... You really should eat it whilst it's fresh."

Without hesitation, he picked up the plate and a set of chopsticks, then crouched slightly, selecting a single piece of sushi with surprising finesse. He dipped it — deliberately — into the ketchup and raised it toward Xoff, clearly prepared to feed him if that's what it took.

There was no mockery in his voice, no smugness. Only a strange, serene sincerity.

"You're actually being treated far better than most prisoners, you know... I'm certain things could be far worse than this." Matthew added, with a calm, almost cheerful lilt to his tone.

Xoff Chantin — Being hand fed by an angelic man

I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not enjoying this.

Outfit: Something Nice

Now we were getting somewhere. Lady Velvet holobook, being fed sushi by a handsome, tall being while reclining on a so-so mattress.

It was worth the ketchup and lies. Xoff practically purred as he accepted the oddly tangy ketchup-dipped sushi roll.

Now, just how long could he get away with this kind of treatment? That was a concern for later.

Matthew didn't seem to mind feeding Xoff, in fact, he did so with the gentle patience of someone tending to a pampered, wayward housecat long accustomed to luxury. If any sauce touched Xoff's lips, Matthew simply folded the kerchief with delicate ease and dabbed at his mouth.

Once Xoff had eaten his fill, or at least tolerated as much as he could stand, Matthew quietly gathered the plate and utensils, tidied the tray with an almost ceremonial efficiency, gathered his belongings and stepped out of the cell and closed it.

"Rest well," he said gently, before the door slid shut behind him, leaving Xoff alone once more… with Gidgit for company.

After some a few more hours Gidgit turned the lights down dim and adjusted the rooms ambient temperature before seeming suggesting it was time for the rest cycle and encouraging Xoff to rest. Gidgit then went in to stand by mode.

Some time durring the night the ship shifted and Xoff could tell the ship was landing some where durring the rest cycle and it would be several more hours before any one came to check on him again.

When Braze Braze returned he was freshened up and wearing simple understated all black jedi robes. Gidgit seemed to flicker to life once more and the lights came on. Braze just picked up what things he'd left out side the cell and folded what he left scattered and put them in to a black messenger back. He looked at Xoff in the cell here and there as he did so.

He fetched some cleaning supplies and sprayed down the table and wiped it off.. He stepped away from view and fetched a second chair and brought it over to the front of the cell before settling down in one of them this time arranging things to face Xoff. He crossed his arms and leaned back yawning tiredly, moving a hand to cover the monstrous cybernetic maw that was his mouth.

Soon enough Valery Noble Valery Noble would arrive. These were the same coordinates she had given him to meet at originally for Shadow related business. She would know what was to be done with Xoff.

"No Gidgit that's fine. " Braze stated softly and yawned a second time turning to look at Xoff.

"What did you do with my sabers?" He asked .

Xoff Chantin — In the moment before sleep

Oh, was that what this was about?

Outfit: Something Nice

"What did you do with my sabers?"

Xoff had a full belly and a cozy spot, curled up under the blanket and almost asleep to the point he nearly didn't register the question. He was too pleasantly in a state of dozing to worry about snitching on something as simple as where the Jedi's sabers were.

His drowsy response came through almost unintelligible, muffled but honest:

"I pawned em the same night at the Credits for Crap on the corner of Slimepipe st. And Rotworm Ave."

A gentle snore interrupted before his next thought came through "only got 150 credits each"

Another snore.

"Karkin Sleemo Toydarian undercutting..." The rest mumbled away.

It may not have been pleasant news, but it was honest - and that meant a paper trail existed somewhere far away from where Xoff now dreamed of opalescent feathers, romance novels, and ketchup.

Braze was a little surprised when Xoff actually responded. It was hard to tell if the Zeltron was fully awake or just mumbling through half-consciousness, but either way.... it was something he could work from.

He stayed quiet for a while after that. He hadn't slept himself in far too long and was trying not to yawn for a third time. His focus had remained on the slow, quiet hum of the ship, ensuring they had reached their destination during the rest cycle without incident.

Finally, he spoke again, keeping his voice low and quiet.
"And… what's the name of the hunter who sent that little boxed surprise to the temple?"

There was no pressure in the tone , just a soft and quiet curiosity, like some one asking the next question on a list he already half-knew the answers to. Braze didn't expect a miracle… but maybe Xoff was just as worn down and restless as he was.

Kai'el Brat "Guardian of the Light"

Braze seemed satisfied with the response but chose not to say anything more, letting the silence settle between them. If Xoff was going to sleep, then so be it.... he could rest. Braze would wait.

After all, this was bound to become a very awkward Parent-Teacher Conference once Valery Noble Valery Noble arrived.

He shifted back in his seat, drawing his datapad into his lap and tapping quietly across its surface. A few moments later, he lifted a hand and adjusted the room's ambient lighting, dimming it to a soft, restful glow once again.
