TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Point defence: Can shoot down projectiles
  • Detection: Has a number of scanners which can detect things.
STRENGTHS
  • Meticulous point defence: The drone can shoot down projectiles from a relatively long range and create a safer environment for itself and its allies. Its laser is so precise that it can even target smaller objects than missiles - artillery shells and extremely large 'bullets' can also be targeted.
  • Detection: Can detect and warn about movement that it picks up on its numerous sensors.
  • Staying power: Has a good defence against EMP attacks and is quick to restart if an EMP-attack is successful. It is also built to withstand extreme weather conditions and can survive for prolonged periods if bathed in fire, for instance. This makes for a drone with very good staying power.
  • Small: It can be hard to target the drone with traditional weapons, seeing as it is very small.
WEAKNESSES
  • Combat droid without offensive capabilities: The droid is built explicitly not to harm people and while its lasers will destroy missiles and other projectiles, it will do very limited damage against organics and armoured droids.
  • Vulnerable if attacked: The drone does not have much of a defence against being shot or chopped - if an attack reaches it, the drone will be about as vulnerable as another droid.
  • Slow movement: Vertically, it can travel at acceptable speeds but tends to move slowly horizontally.
  • One sensor system: The drone's one sensor system which stores all of its sensors - if this system is damaged sufficiently, the drone will perform much worse to the point of not being able to perform at all, seeing as the sensors are needed both for the detection and the point defence.
DESCRIPTION
The Pimento Point Defence Drone was designed by Mathieu Brion and a lot of help from his friends and acquaintances along with some Silver Jedi Concord engineers. It is very small for a combat droid but then, it is not built for combat in the traditional sense either. Instead of fighting other droids or sentients, the Pimento is designed to fight projectiles.

With an advanced sensor system, it can quickly pick up incoming projectiles and calculate the most likely path with its heuristic processor. When this is done it will utilise its point defence laser to shoot the projectile by firing in an interceptory course. If the laser bolt fails in destroying the projectile for some reason, it will still most likely have diverted its course away from the intended target. If multiple Pimento Point Defence Drones are in the same area, they can establish a wireless connection to each other in order to coordinate their efforts.

The advanced sensor system can also be used for early warnings of incoming troops, sudden movements or of other events which it picks up. This can help the allies which it seeks to defend, allowing for them to prepare for something to happen.

With its small size, the Pimento could be tricky for a foe to get rid of, seeing as it could therefore be rather hard to hit. This effect was amplified with the drone being capable of moving and thereby even harder to hit by the marksmen who decided to give it a go.

While it was created to intercept projectiles, most bullets were too small for the drone to deal with. This was naturally not true for all bullets - some travelled more slowly, others shone brightly and others were simply massive. All factors which had to be taken into account. Still, its main function was to ward off missiles, grenades and shells which was the field where it shone the brightest.

Many droids tended to develop personality quirks unless memory wiped regularly and the Pimento was no different. A tendency which many noted was how proud, patriotic and perhaps even heroic it could become - especially after having seen a field of battle for the first time. Outside of combat, the Pimento could serve as a training drone for those who wished to hone their blaster deflection skills. If dedicated for that purpose specifically, however, it would be an extremely expensive training drone.

Hello again, Krass Wyms Krass Wyms

Thank you for reviewing my sub, again, hahah

The height I set was Extremely Small which should give one more point than very. If you would prefer for me to go to very small and instead lower one of the defence ratings, I would be willing to do that.
