The gunship drove through the void toward Thanatos Station. Sasha felt her hairs stand as the guns on the nearby moons trained themselves onto the shuttle. Though they couldn’t see the weapons she knew they were there, watching. “I’m transmitting the code now,” the pilot said. “You don’t need to worry.” She wasn't worried about the code, she was worried about the idiot pilot. He took a route which was entirely too long and had delayed their trip. He flew barely passably, and was scruffy. Yes when she got to the station she would have him killed. "And they've transmitted the all clear."

The gunship moved toward the gas giant. As it traveled it passed the skeletal structure of a shipyard. Inside was a large framed ship, Sasha smiled at the sight. The gunship broke the gass giants atmosphere and found the station. It landed without incident. Sasha was met by the Chief Scientist of the Hypnos project. She grimaced at the woman. Doctor Yani has been less than helpful so far. "There have been more delays?"

"You killed Doctor Harf," The woman replied obstinately.

"He was purposely delaying the project."

"Yes he was, and now he's dead along with all his knowledge." The beamed a superior smile. "You sith tried to extract it from him, but once you had it you couldn't understand it. Taking one project, one piece of a puzzle doesn't help you understand the whole. No sith can learn a lifetime of skills."

Santhe smiled. "You think you're untouchable don't you doctor?"

"I'm the smartest person in the room." Yani said. "And now that Doctor Yuni is dead, I want to be paid double."

Sasha walked up to the woman and affectionately rubbed her cheek with her hand. "Very well doctor, but no delays, and no sabotage or else you will suffer the fate of the last traitor." She walked past the doctor and headed towards the imperial offices. Two Santhe Security officers followed her....

Year - 835 ABY
Region - Outer Rim Territories
System - Styx System
Planet - The Gas Giant Styx

Sometime before the Clockwork Rebellion, Kaine Zambrano, Grand Vizier of the Sith Empire, traveled to the secret Imperial Research installation in the distant binary star system that was hidden underneath the atmosphere of a large Gas Giant. Acting as the perfect hiding place for the Empire's most prized projects, the remote location was also protected by a system of weapon emplacements on all of the planet's moons orbiting it, making sure that even if one stumbled upon this location, they wouldn't live to tell the tale. He was there to meet with one of the esteemed Santhe nobles, a young woman by the name of Sasha who, interestingly enough, was also force sensitive. Besides conversing with her on the project at hand, he would also evaluate her immensely, perhaps she could prove useful to him in the future.

His train of thought was disturbed by the transmission of the secret security code for passage to the station, and from the large viewport he watched as a gunship passed through the atmosphere and passed through the protective shield to land in one of the station's hangerbays. He would wait here, in the control room for her to arrive as one of his status would be waited on, not wait for another. When she finally arrived he turned and gave a gracious bow, "Welcome to Thanatos, my lady. I presume the trip was uneventful, yes? I sensed your annoyance with Chief Scientist Yani, and while it is well justified, we of course still we need her for now." He looked away for a moment before turning back to her, "How is your family?" The question was quite off topic and meant to catch her off guard, he wanted to know what her opinion of her own family was before continuing.

"I have a lot of family," Sasha said. "I care very little about keeping up with the vast majority of them." She started to walk toward the office letting the man fall in beside her. "I read the progress reports," It was all business for her, "Thing's aren't going to well are they?" A Superior smirk crossed her face. "IMy people are doing their jobs properly, they are professionals after all." She continued tot he office. "i've had some of my engineers fix the design of the vessel, the engines were a mess. But the coat, well that requires a little something extra." turning she shrugged, "But before we start into that, I just want to make one thing certain. I'm now in charge here." She looked at the man and smiled. She was the Empress's Apprentice, and thus clearly more important than him.

Kaine was suddenly very, very close to her in what seemed like the blink of an eyed, his hand already flying towards her face to smack her roughly with the back of his hand in one clean motion. His eyes blazed red with green undertones as his voice seemingly dropped several octaves and lost all traces of and friendly element it may have possessed before. "Learn your place, girl. You may the Empress apprentice, but do not assume that entitles you to command me. I am the Grand Vizier of the Empire, I answer to no one but the Empress herself, and I will not have a child even believe for a moment she is superior to me. Do. I. make. myself. clear?" Waves of anger rolled off of him like tidal waves, and if such a thing happened in the physical realm it could knock you over. Kaine was deadly serious, he wouldn't have his authority undermined by some brat, no matter whose apprentice she was.

No one had ever struck Sasha, not like this. Her face contorted with anger... this, this creature smacked her. She frowned and looked back at him. "If you were any other man you'd be now," she said. The truth of the matter was she knew she couldn't beat him. This however didn't stop her from taking up her superior stance. "You're little Empire needs me." It was a statement of fact. "It would be a shame of our enemies started out producing us in ships and fighters." She snarled back at the man. "I am heir to the ancient and honorable Santhe family, and demand to be treated as such."

He laughed, "Keep up with your little delusions, you'd make for a wonderful comedy act. You will be treated as I deem fit, your status and rank mean nothing to me. You are not my superior, you are not my equal. You will act as an apprentice should, with respect for your betters." He turned away, ignoring any further outbursts for her as this was extremely counter-productive to their task at hand. "I assume the project will continue on schedule now, Lady Santhe?"

Sasha frowned as she looked at the man with utter distaste. "It will if we can get the resources we need." It was a simple response. It would be a waste to further argue with this man. "There are companies that have more expertise than mine on this exact subject matter. We can catch up of course, anything they can do we can do better, but I believe obtaining samples from them would be an easier solution. Arakyd Industries makes the best product currently." She bit her lower lip. "We of course make all the other components needed, and can modify them accordingly."

Kaine nodded, "I will make sure you get your resources, Lady Santhe. You do your part and make sure these Scientists stay on task and get this project done. I will not tolerate any more delays. The Empress will not be pleased with us both if we fail..."
