The Pigeon is an early entry from Bespin Motors that remains in limited production after centuries of manufacture. Designed to be a more compact alternative to the Cloud Car, this speeder was designed for more congested city environments. It is a tank of an airspeeder, with an overbuilt frame, redundant systems, and even Ion-shielded circuits. The robustness of the model is due to its intended market as a security airspeeder for law enforcement and corporate security forces. Its low-armament reflects the desire to disable and capture criminal vehicles rather than destroy them- a suitable pursuit on mostly law-abiding worlds. The harpoons also present a good way to reduce collateral damage as the harpoons capture the vehicle before it can fall. Although designed for law enforcement, the vehicle can be sold to anyone. The Pigeon's modular nature means that aftermarket changes and upgrades are frequently installed. Most of the galaxy considers the venerable Pigeon to be outdated and underpowered for its intended role in law enforcement, but some backwater systems and civilian operators still make use of it here and there.
