  • Due to the use of Concussive Absorbing Materials in a similar fashion to the previous textile made by PGEM, the material provides a safety net to reduce the chance for broken bones and bruising in the case of falls. This does not prevent internal organs from shifting.

+ Sudden Stop + The use of concussive absorption material both in general and at focused points in production use severely limits the effective impact of kinetic weapons and munitions.
+ Non-Disruptive + Integrum introduced in the production process to the weave provides an outstanding boost to protection from this highly destructive form of energy.
+ Energy + While not nearly as protective against this form of attack, it is still noticeably effective, and readily disperses energy across the whole body rather than at a focused point. Allowing for higher survival rates via being knocked out rather than outright death.
+ Ionic/EMP + Banterweave provides a surprising amount of protection to both the wearer, and anything shielded by the material from this form of energy.
+ Falling With Grace + In a similar fashion to the first, the Banterweave is useful for protecting bones and skin alike in falls to prevent broken bones or other sprains by reducing the severity of impact across the material via of the kinetic absorption material.

- Bad Vibrations - Banterweave is relatively weak to this type of attack, and can reduce the protection of the material from Disruptor based attacks should it be used.
- Disruptor Resistant - The Banterweave itself is highly resistant, but should a being be hit on an exposed portion of their body, the Banterweave will remain behind along with anything protected by it.
- Kinetic Issues - The concussive absorption material provides excellent protection against impact but does not stop the transfer of kinetic energy. Should simple clothing be made of Banterweave, a slugthrower round will still bruise and a punch will still push and so on.
- Radiation - The material actually holds onto radiation with alarming ease, and can make the wearer a threat to not only themselves but others around them.
- Acid - The material is highly susceptible to Acids and Corrosives given the kinetic absorption material and provides an easily clung to material for acids and corrosives to work.

Revisiting an old design, the Engineers of PGEM found the previous material to be rather lacking given the more recent breakthroughs in textiles and their uses. Taking more readily available materials and simplifying the process of production, the first iteration of Banterweave featured relatively lacking resistances to most forms of attack. And it was cited a different blend was needed to provide reasonable protection as a general use material.

Using a more dedicated weaving pattern, a more reliable dispersal system was made, allowing energy to disperse across the surface of the material rather than against a singular point. Focusing the absorptive properties to a minimal profile provided a more dense product than the previous version by the name Anti-Shank cloth, it did bring some marked increases in protection across the board.

The material did however present some more dramatic weaknesses to Radiation, Acids, and Sonic attacks due to the increased structure of the weave. Finding that Sonic attacks could temporarily or even permanently reduce the Disruptor resistance of the material depending on its severity alongside harming the being behind it. Radiation and Acid also gained an alarming foothold within the material as well given the denser structure of the weave. Given the textiles purpose as a general use material however, it was cited the issues would likely be minimal and the second iteration of Banterweave was readied for production.
