  • Due to the use of Graphite in the compound, the material retains some surprising characteristics not usually found among most common metals. The material does not exude a magnetic field unless exposed to a magnetic field. In which it will generate and align it's newly generated magnetic field with the introduced magnetic presence.

+ Face Hardened + Fresh off of the mill, the material is face hardened and is difficult to damage using physical force.
+ Conductive + While the material is conductive due to the alum and graphite present inside. It is resilient to foreign ionic and emp signatures after being tied into a framework with proper grounding and forms a rudimentary faraday cage when properly applied.
+ Radiation Resistant + Another boon of the graphite present in the blend. More resistant than it's predecessor, the tighter atomic structure makes it more difficult for radiative energies to permeate the material.
+ Energy/Plasmatic + Using graphite in the compound alongside reliable grounding procedures during construction gives the material better chances against standard energy based weapons to dissipate the energies along the dense cellular structures. The floating electron within the graphite structure inside the compound allows the foreign energy to be drawn across the surface of the material rather than concentrating it's destructive power to a focal point.
+ Added Material + The addition of Chanlon into a previously concocted composition further compacted the materials atomic structure though it largely retains the same resistances to most while adding benefits in other areas.

- Thicc - The dense blend of materials offer above average protections at the cost of being quite cumbersome. Not applicable for anything small as a starfighter as the heavy plating will be to great a burden for most engines to propel.
- Brittle - The face hardening of the material during casting or application is a boon against kinetic and other physical attacks until the material is damaged. While the core of the material might be flexible, the shrapnel that permeates the hull or diffuses across the front is a life threatening caveat.
- Improperly Caged - If the material is not properly grounded to the framework of whatever is being plated or built upon, the first foreign ionic charge will fry everything in contact with the plating with devastating effect. The material is very conductive and improper or damaged grounding will result in more than electronics being scorched.
- Disrupted - While the material is dense and offers adequate protections against most commons forms of weapons, without any dedicated auxiliary systems the material offers little in the way of protection against the dangers of disruptor fire.
- Spicy Glowsticks - The process of making a highly dense material came with a surprising twist given the conductive nature of the material. While the density of the material will make the process of cutting through a chore, the material itself will readily take to a lightsaber and the more lightsabers heating up the material, the more readily it will give.

The production of Alardite saw a small alteration when the idea came through to add a small amount of Chanlon to the composition. A far greater success to the material's resistances than anticipated, the composition required some caveats come into place given the sheer density and uncommon occurrence of Chanlon to begin with. Noting that smaller vessels such as starfighters would be unable to plate themselves with any substantial amount of the material, an addendum was placed in the foundries to do list to specifically seek out a material for starfighters.
