    • Force Dampening Zone
By virtue of its Void Stone core and field projecting technology, the PFSU emits a force dampening field from the wearer, out to a radius of approximately 100 meters. Via a series of dials and modulators, the signal can be reduced in power at will by the wearer, down to a personal range of within a few meters, or complete deactivation if desired. The effect this field has on force users includes a mild discomfort due to a hindered connection with the force, as well as a severe impairment to the offensive use of the force; from mind reading, lightning projections, telekinesis, et al. Attempting to ‘push through’ this impairment would require an extreme level of concentration, to the point of leaving one vulnerable to conventional means of attack that would otherwise be easy to overcome.
    • Compact
The device can be installed within a pocket-sized remote casing, inlaid within an amulet, or within a vamprace.
    • EMP Shielded
Thanks to its Duraplast/Chromium lining, the device is resistant to Ion/EMP interference, specifically from indirect bursts or directed waves.
    weak.png
    • Defensive Only
While this device emits a field, which can be strengthened or weakened at will - this field cannot be modulated into any sort of directed beam or burst to target anyone specifically. It is an area of effect, low-band passive field only.
    • Force-Specific
The PFSU-9 is designed with the sole purpose of force-nullification in mind. It cannot project any other disruption field (like for comms) or shielding. It protects against the force only, not against blasters or physical assault
    • Not Ion Immune
A direct shot from an ion blaster can still disrupt the electronic mechanisms of this device. While it would not completely disable it (due to the voidstone core within), it would significantly reduce the ability to strengthen the field and increase the radius. The innate area of effect of the miniature core is set at 20 meters in the event the electronic components within are disabled.
    • Restricted Technology
Due to the advanced and extremely valuable applications of the PFSU, production is very limited and stockpiles are closely monitored by the FOSB and First Order Logistics Bureau. Only those within the top-tier of the First Order Hierarchy are permitted to possess this device.
    descr.png

Among the things prized by the First Order, is contained with its very name - Order. Galactic history has been awash with feuding warlords, intent on consolidating power beneath their influence simply because they have the power to seize it; yet proving inept to prevent the corruption stemming from the sycophants who surround them. Often, those who possess power within the force, lack the will and acumen to properly wield it - which in turn leads to the abuse of such power to the detriment of all.

With technology like the PFSU-9, such power can easily be checked. Those who have the skills and ability to properly establish true order can prevent the mysticism of old from forcing them silent. While in the presence of the ‘Null’ zone it projects, any ‘choking’ would take place by an actual hand as opposed to the unseen tendrils of the force; lightning would spark and dissipate, and the only real threat one should fear, is that of a lightsaber or blaster. In the rigid society of the First Order’s military hierarchy, merit shall reign supreme.

Hello, apologies for the delay

The device emits a Force-dampening field out to approximately 100 meters from the wearer. In Star Wars canon, portable Force nullification devices (e.g., void stone, ysalamiri) typically have much shorter ranges even something as old as Mia and the mandalorians braal from once upon a time. 100 meters is combat-scale denial. This is going to have to be scaled back drastically. with a maximum of 15 meters for unique production and max of 5 meters if you want to maintain limited.

"Attempting to 'push through' this impairment would require an extreme level of concentration, to the point of leaving one vulnerable to conventional means of attack"
This is the core mechanical effect for PvP and in some cases interaction there's no metric making it entirely subjective. What counts as extreme level of concentration?

"Only those within the top-tier of the First Order Hierarchy are permitted to possess this device."
This doesn't affect the device's performance in a duel or battle.

Add at least one genuine combat-relevant weakness, such as:

Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to review. Not to be argumentative, but I'm a bit confused on your point regarding the range.

The wiki article for void Stone is very clear about the 100 meter range. See below copied and pasted text from the bottom of the article:

"The Void Stone had an unusual connection with the Force. Any Force-sensitive person within one hundred meters of the Void Stone would have difficulty using their Force powers effectively. Even those who did not consciously use the Force would suffer from impaired connection to the Force. The hundred-meter range of the Void Stone's power covered the entire cave network of the Charon colony."

My intention was to mimic the same range as the canon material I've linked in the submission.

Regarding the effect, I apologize for the confusion but the text you've also referenced appears to answer the question you have, together with my above sited text from the void Stone wiki. Impairment of force abilities, and leaving one vulnerable to conventional attack.

I have 3 strengths and 4 weaknesses, and I would imagine the 3 other weaknesses are pretty tangible combat ones to offset the 3 notable strengths. It was my hope that such a ratio would balance it out. But ultimately if I need to add a 5th weakness while still having 3 strengths, I suppose I can comply.

Thank you for your patience with me :) please let me know your thoughts to my above questions/concerns.

Yes void stone's in a stationary location in the article was large. If this was for to be solely for physical unmoving locations it would be aa different look for balance. Portable nullification should and is looked at closer with most being severely limited. Personal ranges are a lot easier to pass as it won't blanket an area and seek to impede a large majority of members of the community.
