OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Pesmenben IV Imperial Garrison
  • Classification: Imperial Military Base with Fortified Ore Storage
  • Location: Planet of Pesmenben IV
  • Affiliation: Mimkin's Imperial Remnant and the The Final Dawn
  • Population: Moderate
    • Moderate ( approximately 28,000 total personnel ). This breaks down to roughly 18,000 Army and Ground Security Personnel, 6,000 Navy and Support Crew, and 4,000 Logistics, Mining Overseers, and Technical Staff. The garrison maintains two full Imperial Army regiments, an armored battalion, and a dedicated starfighter wing for planetary defense.
  • Demographics:
    • Predominantly Human ( 75% ), reflecting Mimkin's core recruitment base, with notable contingents of loyalist near-humans, Zabrak, and Myke officers. A significant number of indentured miners and penal laborers drawn from conquered territories. Specialized droid crews handle the most hazardous mining operations.
  • Accessibility:
    • The garrison is situated in a remote, mineral-rich highland region, deliberately isolated from the planet's scattered outlaw settlements. It is not hidden, but it is heavily restricted. Civilian access is forbidden, and the entire zone operates under strict martial law. Orbital approaches are tightly monitored by patrol squadrons and ground-based sensor grids, while surface approaches are blocked by layered defensive perimeters and natural rocky barriers.
  • Description:
    • Dominating the hazy, rust-colored skyline of Pesmenben IV, the Imperial Garrison is a sprawling, fortress-like complex of dark durasteel and plastoid. Massive interconnected structures rise above the industrial haze, linked by broad elevated bridges and walkways lit by cold white lights. Towering command spires and sensor arrays pierce the smog-filled sky, while the constant traffic of shuttles, TIE fighters, and heavy transports moves through the polluted atmosphere.
POINTS OF INTEREST

The Command Spire serves as the nerve center of the garrison. This heavily armored central tower contains the command bridge, holoconference chambers, and Governor-Commander Carvel Sneads personal quarters. Its elevated position offers a commanding view of the entire facility and the surrounding badlands through reinforced viewports.

The Grand Transit Bridges are among the most striking features, vast elevated causeways connecting the primary structures. These reinforced bridges allow rapid movement of troops, vehicles, and cargo while serving as secondary defensive platforms lined with automated turrets and patrol routes.

Hangar Complex Delta occupies several large bays beneath and around the main structures. Capable of housing two full starfighter wings and numerous support craft, the hangars feature rapid-launch tubes and reinforced blast doors that allow operations even during enemy bombardment.

The Ore Processing and Repository District sprawls across the lower industrial levels. Automated smelters, conveyor systems, and heavily guarded vaults store and refine the planet's valuable minerals. Thick atmospheric scrubbers struggle constantly against the choking dust and chemical byproducts of around-the-clock operations.

The Arena of Obedience, located in a fortified sub-level, functions as both a training facility and a venue for public discipline. Here, troops sharpen their skills and disloyal elements are punished in full view of the garrison, reinforcing absolute obedience to Warlord Mimkin.

SECURITY

Pesmenben IV Imperial Garrison
maintains a High security rating appropriate for a major military base so close to the High Republic. The base is monitored by sensor grids, encrypted surveillance holocams, and passive motion detection fields buried within the surrounding grounds.

Access points are protected by blast doors, biometric locks, and internal automated defense systems designed to neutralize intruders before they reach the subterranean listening post. The highly trained Imperial garrison is supported by Tekcane Troopers, Phase I Dark Trooper and Imperial LV9-Series Security Drones who operate from barracks below the surface of the base.

Defensive shielding can be raised over the underground facility in emergencies, though it is deliberately calibrated to avoid detectable energy spikes that might alert authorities within the The High Republic. The result is a site that relies on deterrence and rapid military deployments instead of stealth.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Construction of the Pesmenben IV Imperial Garrison began in late 902 ABY shortly after Warlord Vortigern Mimkin Vortigern Mimkin secured mining rights and political agreements with the Trade Federation. Survey teams had identified rich deposits of rare metals and energy-rich ores beneath the planet's surface, resources critical for starship construction and weapons manufacturing.

With funding and technical expertise provided by the The Trade Federation |:| 900 ABY, and broader strategic support from The Final Dawn, Mimkin's forces rapidly established the base. Thousands of droids and penal laborers worked around the clock to raise the massive interconnected structures, elevated transit bridges, and defensive fortifications seen today. The garrison was built with both military projection and industrial output in mind, its imposing architecture deliberately designed to intimidate.

The primary purpose of the base remains the systematic extraction and export of ore to finance Mimkin's growing war machine, particularly his planned campaign to seize the junkyard planet of Attahox within High Republic territory. Already, the garrison has successfully repelled multiple raids by pirate bands and smugglers who once operated freely in the region.

Under the firm command of Governor-Commander Carvel Sneads, the Pesmenben IV Imperial Garrison continues to expand. New processing wings and defensive emplacements are under constant construction. In the blood-red haze of Pesmenben's skies, the base stands as a dark monument to Mimkin's ambition, a fortress whose mineral wealth will help fuel the Warlord's vision of a restored and far grander Imperial order.
