OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To create an exotic weapon for future roleplay.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Ionized Blaster Rifle
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Average
  • Ammunition Type: Ionized Prothium Gas
  • Ammunition Capacity: Average
  • Effective Range: Long Range
  • Rate of Fire: Very High
  • Stopping Power: High
  • Recoil: Low
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Lutetium and Agrinium plating.
  • Ionized mixing chamber creates positively-charged blaster bolts.
  • A high concentration of blaster fire in a half-meter radial sphere creates a bidirectional channel of highly ionized air.
  • A high concentration will create a lightning leader that results in downwards-streaming lightning strikes in the concentrated area.
  • Sufficient concentration requires about ten uninterrupted seconds of continuous fire in an area of a single half-meter radial sphere.
  • The potency of the lightning strike is variable depending on existing weather conditions.
  • Muzzle flash and sound suppressor.
  • Lightweight frame.
  • Stock contains extra power cells.
  • Automatic power-cell disposal and replacement system.
  • Glowrod attachment on the bottom of the barrel.
STRENGTHS
  • Stormcaller: The Perun's Call uses advanced technology to create ionic-charged blaster bolts that, when concentrated in a tight area, can summon a lightning strike.
  • Long Range: The fact that the Perun's Call's blaster bolts do not dissipate until after longer-than-average ranges and its low recoil make it stable in engagements even when at longer ranges.
  • High Worth: The antiquity, uniqueness, and design of the Bonedigger make it an extremely valuable weapon to own.
WEAKNESSES
  • Break the Charge: If at any time the concentration of blaster fire is broken before the ten-second period is up, the charge will diffuse and the user will have to start over again with making the electrical charge.
  • Indoors: The blaster will not be able to summon lightning strikes when it does not have a direct connection to the atmosphere of a world, meaning underground and indoors.
  • Size: Perun's Call has a large frame that can make it bulky in tight situations
DESCRIPTION
The storm is your ally. Control its wrath and direct it at your enemies. Become victorious.

The blaster features an ionic-charged mixing chamber in which the gas from the power cells is diffused and charged with both positive and negative ions. These charged blaster bolts, then, when fired, create an expulsion of both positive and negative-charged ions when the blaster bolt diffuses; that is to say when it hits a target. Rapid diffusion and expulsion in a single area, functionally a spheroid approximately a half-meter in diameter, will create a bidirectional channel between the ground and the atmosphere. When this process has continued enough that there is a sufficiently high charge, a downwards-streaking lightning strike is summoned that will hit a point on the ground in a three-meter radius around where the initial charge was made. Once this lightning bolt strikes, a completely new charge will be needed to summon another as residue ions will have no impact on the time it takes to create a new charge. Existing weather patterns and conditions affect the potency of this lightning bolt, with more negatively-charged atmospheric conditions producing a strong bolt than otherwise.

While this ability has awesome potential, it relies on many conditions to produce a successful lightning strike. One of the most important conditions is that the build-up of the ionic charge must not be interrupted, or else the charge will diffuse. Thus, a user must continuously fire in the same area for ten uninterrupted seconds to produce a sufficient charge. Another limitation is the fact that the Stormcaller perk will not work when there is not a direct semi-vertical connection to the atmosphere, which means underground or indoors. This limitation is slightly variable, as foliage and tree canopies will not obstruct the lighting charge, but an artificial or solid overhead covering will.

Altogether, the Perun's Call is a blaster with extreme potential if harnessed correctly, with the power to become a lord of thunder.
