GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Description |
The Perdition Corps is as its name suggests, a unit within the Sith Empire's Legion that specializes in flame weaponry as well as demolitions, their members being known as "Purifiers". The emblem for the Perdition Corps, a stylized flame upon the shoulder of all those who take up the name of a Purifier, is one to be respected given their line of work and their incredible disregard for any organic life. The Perdition Corps develops new exotic tech for Purifiers to use on the battlefield. A vast majority of its members are psychologically screened and possess little to no empathy to prevent them from second-guessing themselves when dispensing caustic flames upon enemies or civilians alike. They are cold and distant, and often seen by other branches of the military as almost machine-like given their strict adherence to orders and utter disregard for life.

COMBAT INFORMATION

  • Unit Size | Large
  • Availability |
Uncommon - While not typically deployed to the standard battlefield, the Perdition Corps is typically seen much more frequently as a specialized unit in areas with lush vegetation, typically used to clear a path through heavily forested areas for the main force to move through unhindered. This is not to say a member of the Perdition Corps would not be seen alongside a standard squad of Legion soldiers, as they may accompany infantry into battle with their specialized equipment.
  • Unit Experience | Trained
  • Combat Function |
The Purifiers of the Perdition Corps have a singular objective while deployed on the field; purging the enemies of the Sith Empire with flame whilst simultaneously striking fear and destroying the morale of the enemy. They are specialized as anti-infantry as expected of most flametroopers from any era but given advances in weapons development also prove extremely effective in handling enemy armor as well, whether it be vehicles or armored infantry. Purifiers are often at the front, turning the battleground into a blazing inferno and clearing a path for infantry to move unhindered and unmolested. They are an auxiliary support that sees much action in planets and areas rich with vegetation or other organic material that would prove to be obstructive without their presence.
  • Strengths & Weaknesses |
Strengths |
  • [ Purge Everything ] - The Perdition Corps does what they do extremely well. If there is a path that needs to be cleared or enemies melted down, the Perdition Corps will be at the forefront of the assault to burn a path. With their equipment, they are well armed for dealing with soldiers, armored units, civilians and anything else that moves upon the land.
  • [ Relentless Tide of Flame ] - The Perdition Corps is comprised of near emotionless soldiers, who are nothing short of flame fanatics. They will purge with extreme indifference and disregard for life if they stand before them.

Weaknesses |
  • [ Ground Deployment ] - The Perdition Corps is only effective on the ground, if not exclusively deployed on land. Their combat effectiveness is limited on large open landscapes as well due to lack of cover and limited shield life to keep them protected from ranged fire.
  • [ Niche Unit ] - Though great advances were made in making Flametroopers viable and effective against more than just infantry, the Perdition Corps remains as a niche unit that does not see widespread deployment. There may be one seen for every hundred Legionnaires deployed during battle.

  • Historical Information |
There is little to be said for the background of the Perdition Corps. They are simply a flametrooper unit created by The Sith Empire. However, rather than let it be nothing more than a simple unit of flametroopers, Sith Imperial Research and Development worked to make advances to equipment and weapons used by the Perdition Corps. The development of XR-Hellpyre and all equipment pertaining to it has drastically changed and improved the combat effectiveness of the Purifiers, the designated men and women of the Perdition Corps.

Purifiers were designed to be a step forward in making exotic assets like flametroopers more widespread and helpful to the Sith Empire's war efforts, with equipment that make them a force to be reckoned with even if they are alone. Their appearance on the field has been likened to that of Droidekas in days of old, where the mere sight of them was enough of an indication that the enemy should turn tail and run if they did not want to be annihilated.

All Purifiers are screened to withstand high temperatures without aid of external protection, conditioned to feel little to no emotions as well as have no disregard for life. They are very much like droids in that sense that they are emotionless soldiers that follow orders without question. They are highly professional and highly lethal. Their loyalties to the Sith Empire are nothing short of militaristic fanatacism.
