Detritus was ready to bask in the glory of yet another kill, already three Jedi had fallen to his blade, but much to his surprise, or his disappointment a fourth Jedi had remained. The crackling orange blade raised high to execute the Jedi, only to unexpectedly meet the blade of of the Jedi known as
Corin Kaze
blades crackled in a lock, before Ren was sent back dragging his feet through the stained sand. He was pushed back several feet, but would stop himself from being blown away any further.
Anger was flooding through his veins, his yellow eyes narrowed first on the boy, but someone who he never suspected had caught his attention. Romi Jade, while he has never crossed blades with her, Ren knew who the Jedi was by look and reputation alone. He looked away from Kaze as if he was an insect compared to bigger prey. “
Well, well, well. Months of entertaining spineless fools, only to find my reward. Before I leave I will kill you.” Detritus declared, the venom clear in his tone as he started to divert attention right towards the Jedi woman.
More blades would activate from within the crowds, more Jedi would follow into the depths of the arena making Detritus pause his sudden advance. Then one brave Jedi stood between Detritus and Jade who was trying to get away. Ren stopped for a moment facing down a Jedi who dispatched one of the arena opponents with ease. His blade facing right towards Ren. The words coming out of his mouth caused a laugh to bellow out.
“
Who are you to deny me anything? My fate is my own, no Jedi, nothing will stop me. Stand in my way and you’ll suffer Jedi scum!” It was clear that Detritus was full of rage unlike any other. His heavy steps advanced towards him, his saber was slightly raised as if ready to cut the man down right then and there.
Then he stopped. A familiar presence made itself known, something different, his eyes went wide.
“N-No it can’t be…. it’s him…” He said, a slight twinge of fear and awe had stopped him in his tracks. Before he could begin his furious onslaught upon the Jedi he had turned his head towards one of the entrances. The door opened and came none other than Solipsis himself.
“M-My Emperor lives? How is that possible?” He questioned himself, his face looked as if he had seen a ghost, before he turned back to the brave Jedi who dared to confront him.
If things hadn’t gotten any worse. Just as Jade was trying to make her escape, some unseen force was causing winds to roar through the arena. Detritus dug his boots into the sand, using his own body and the Force to keep himself from being blown away by the winds. He could sense that Romi was escaping, rage fueling him unlike any other. If that wasn’t enough then Barren who had been watching from the stands decided to jump into the fray, the mad marauder that he was, just like the old Maw days.
His eyes directed into the storm, all he could see was dust and sand, but felt the need to gain his redemption. Jedi were closing in from all over, he could sense it. Gritting his teeth he approached the dark haired Jedi, the one who dared to ask for his surrender, while another would try to surround him.
“I’ve had enough!” Detritus said angrily between the Jedi interference, the blast from the past now the sandstorm and Romi attempting to escape.
The rage boiled up, rising into the surface. A scream finally came from his lips, between the power of his Orbalisks, or his own rage he let out all the energy inside of himself. The Force turned into a repulse sending many within the Arena flying back, The force wave dissipating the sand storm, as the furious winds were centered around himself, before being pushed back. He then looked to Barren, his feet making heavy stomps towards the Jedi. His blade letting out a sinister hum, eager to taste Jedi blood once more.
“Barren! Prevent the Jedi Woman’s escape, she is our Emperors prize!” Detritus said, his tone filled with raw anger and conviction as he was heading on a path right for the Jedi in front of him.
