Past the Point of No Return

"I only saw my parents a few times. I didn't even suspect that the vagabonds who gave food and supplies to my village every few years were related to me... It took them dying for me to wonder why their Force auras caused mine to flare up. I just assumed that they were exceptionally strong."

I sighed, and leaned the side of my head on the wall. I tried to smile weakly, but it wouldn't come.

"They didn't even recognize me, before the day they died. Except for the blonde fur, I looked nothing like them."

Lexa sighed as well. She leaned up against the door frame. "We're a mess, aren't we? The Galaxy just keeps chewing us up and spitting us out." She crossed her arms and kept her eyes on Malachite. Maybe staying wouldn't be such a bad thing. They had both lost much. They knew what it felt like to be alone in the universe. Maybe sticking together would give them a chance to grow strong enough to move on.

"Maybe... Maybe I could stay. Just for a little while..."

The corner of my mouth turned up, rubbing my jaw against the wall a bit. The side of my hair fuzzed out a little bit as the sparks came flying off it. Flattening it back down, I peeled my face from the wall and looked at Lexa.

"And I'm supposed to be the one to chew and spit people out. Irony can suck."

My smile spread thin across my face, and I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, I suppose, if it's just for a little while, that's fine."

Lexa gave Malachite a single nod. "I'll do my best not to annoy you while I'm here. Thank you, Malachite." With that, she stood upright and left the room, deciding that it might be good to explore it a bit and remember where things were.

"You tried to melt me into a furry Puddle-chite, earlier. Compared to that, nothing you do or say could possibly annoy me. I've had more fun today than I've had in the last thirty years. This is the least I can do."

I smiled at Lexa, and followed her out the door, vaguely wondering where in the four decks of my ship her wandering would bring her.

She first made her way to what appeared to be a small kitchen. Next, to a sort of sparring room. She ducked her head into several of the other sleeping quarters and a small observation deck out of curiosity before finally making her way to the bridge. Lexa stopped there, just behind the pilot's seat. Well, that was it for her. She'd seen all the places she usually went to on a decently big ship. Shouldn't be too hard to remember.

I grinned wider and wider, as I quietly watched my guest quickly sticking her head in and out of doors. Sure, he'd had guests on this ship, before, but none of them had really looked around so much. By the time she wandered to the cockpit, I was sparking with excitement again. Leaning on a console that didn't really do anything, I gestured to the chair.

"Go ahead and fly, Miss Volcano Captain Lady. I'm rather curious to see where you bring us. Might even turn out to be less aimless than my drifting through hyperspace for the past month."

Lexa shook her head lightly. "No thanks. I wouldn't know where to go." She said. She turned to look back at Malachite. He was grinning like an idiot at looking back at her. "What?"
[member="Malachite Avachei"]

My expression turned to one of total innocence. I'd simply been enjoying having another person on the ship with me. But with her looking at me like that, I almost laughed.

"Nothing. Just nice to have other people around, is all."

[member="Lexa Imura"]

"Oh." She said. She looked back to the window of the cockpit, crossing her arms. "Do you have any ideas where we'll go?" She said. He didn't have to answer. It was just something she was thinking.

I grinned lazily again, still leaning on the console, and shrugged.

"I wanna go somewhere cold. Gotta say I'm sick of places like Tatooine. I need some snow in my fur."

I held out my arms, and wiggled my flaming fingers.

"Not like we're gonna freeze, after all."

[member="Lexa Imura"]

Cold. They could go to Hoth... No. NO. It was too early. She couldn't go back there now. She wasn't ready. "What about the Nightlands on Ryloth? It's cold and dark year-round." She hadn't been there in years.

I raised an eyebrow at Lexa's suggestion. It wasn't that it didn't sound like it fit with my desire for the cold, but the obvious choice would have been Hoth. I opened my mouth to say so, and then closed it again when I felt something from her that stopped me. I didn't know what it was, but it got rid of any question I would've had about her decision.

"Well, then, to the land of Twi'leks and spice we go. Hope my vision adjusts fast."

Nodding, Lexa sat down in the co-pilot's chair. "You won't have to worry about that. You can just make some fire for light." She replied. She was relieved that Malachite had accepted her choice. Hoth held... Too many fresh memories. The last thing she wanted to do was relive them.

I smiled again, sitting down in my pilot's chair. Setting a course for Ryloth was easy. It was programmed into just about every ship in the galaxy.

"I don't like to do that, very often. It'll mess with my eyesight... And a fox needs his eyes to eat."
