[Past RP] Misadventures of Iron Knight and the Ever-Colonel Kerrigan: Bando Gora Bonanza!

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

The droid cocked the shatterpistol once more, ready to fire off another round as Kerrigan fell to the ground, the cracks in his armor getting slightly smaller as the misshapen armor plates cooled off.

However, he didn't get much chance for another shot as Kerrigan threw off her arms, and the droid would soon find his arms gripped with her mind-pincers. Those dreadful mind-pincers, her will-clamps?

Either way, his claws dug into the ground and magnetic soles clang to any metal underneath the surface they could in case Kerrigan would try to flung him around again. His form would raise up, arms spread as if he was on a cross, metal groaning under Kerrigan's assault, he tried to shift his arm and aim her down with his pistol but he couldn't at the current state of his body. How he wished he had Jacen's over powered laser eyes right now.

His armor was the first to go, it took a lot of effort but the thick structure of plates would start to collapse and groan under pressure, his chestplate starting to tear in two and spark as the power-armor was being ripped under Kerrigan's assault.
Possessed HK rose his face up in a loud screeching raspy call,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rtI86rgZ9I

In the rips and cracks of his armor the plates of his body would be seen, bending and ripping much like the armor just did, sparking and alighting with purple flames as he was receiving severe damage.

It was then that the flames swiveled around him and burst, shooting out towards the ceiling of the cave somewhere far off in the darkness in a pillar of purple flames and the foul dark-side energy.
The spirit escaping him before he could be vanquished together with the droid's destruction.

"Kerrigan, enough! I'm baaaaack!"
He would call out to her, his words prolonged by his body's damage under Kerrigan's telekinetic assault

@[member="HK-36"]

HK's words did not resonate immediately with Siobhan, for she had succumbed strongly to her rage and anger, blotting out everything except her will to destroy and exterminate. Thus was the way the Butcher did things, without remorse, without mercy. But then she finally heard him call out to her. Not the spirit of the Machine God, but HK. Abruptly her telekinetic attacks upon him ceased.

"Cease fire! Stand down!" she called out to the Omegan troops and Moira before they could riddle HK with bolter rounds and blaster bolts. He was not her enemy, but her friend. Ironically enough, despite being a droid created for destruction and killing, he was probably a better, more moral person than she was.

Abruptly, as the daemon spirit had escaped from his mechanical form and vanished out through the ceiling of the cave to Goddess knew where in a pillar of purple flame and the vile energies of the dark side of the Force, she returned as well. Butcher Kerrigan vanished from the driver's seat and now only Siobhan was left. Along with the relief she felt at not having been forced to destroy someone she considered a friend.

Likewise, with the energies of the Force no longer flowing through and strengthening her, she also felt a searing pain shoot through her, something like tiredness also overcoming her, her legs feeling wobbly, though she refused to let herself keel over. "Don't you frakking charge off like a bloody idiot again, you bloody hear me?" she yelled at him, though despite her harsh, angry words relief was evident in her voice. After all, if she ddi not care she would have no reason to be angry.

The droid would fall to the ground, pushing the ripped plates together on his body to shift them enough to cover his injuries as he pushed himself off of the ground on his hands, reaching to the nearby dual Sith swords he has taken off of the other HK droid, using them to stabilize himself as he stood up and balanced himself, re-evaluating himself in his damaged state.
"We each have to do what we are meant to do."
The droid commented back to Kerrigan, he would walk over to the head and spine of the other HK unit, the corrupted one, digging it from under the rubble he would pick it up by the metallic spine,
"Besides, honestly what were the chances of this happening?"

Holding the droid's head and spine, his memory banks would be quite useful to find out the location of fabled Mechanus, he would come over closer to Siobhan, reaching he would try to pat her shoulder softly.
"At least we have taken down the Machine God."
"That was no Machine God."
HK would turn slightly at the words as some of the rubble nearby would move and from under a cowering Bando Gora cultist would peek out, apparently playing possum through the whole thing.
"Excuse me?"
The droid asked,
"I said that wasn't the Machine God, ha-ta-ta-ta-ta."
The cultist would point up then,
"That's the Machine God."

The droid would look up at the ceiling where the pillar of dark energies disappeared. Somewhere off in the darkness there was faint flicker or two purple flames.
The flicker would spread, as if blood running through veins, as something has awoken.

Then, a roar was heard as the darkness parted, purple flames churning out from large metallic jaws of an unholy machines as it was given an artificial breath. The figure was long and large, serpentine almost, its metal body black as night, flames of propulsion and weapons burned on him like false beacons.

"You know what I said about there being no more Mechanical Dragons in the Galaxy?"
HK said, looking up at the ceiling and then to Siobhan,
"Well, there may be one more left."
He quipped.

The metal beast above gave our a resonating metal roar as it breathed fire from above them, letting go of the ceiling he would fill the whole cave hall with purple light as with a whirring sound his wings would flap and adjust, causing him to hover above them.
"I am Mag'ladroth the Void Dragon! Look upon me and despair, organics, for I am the Machine God!"
With that he would roar once more, breathing out another jet of flames above them.

HK would look to Kerrigan, reaching to the pockets on his toolbelt he would toss something to her, it was another Sigil of Hope. Yeah, the droid had one of those as well, although it was more or less utterly useless to him, it was given to him by the Jedi Order after his aid during the undead event thing. He wouldn't want Kerrigan to be totally running out of energy now.
"Run or fight, Colonel?"

@[member="HK-36"]

Of course the fight could not be over yet, for that would have been way too easy! As much as tearing down a pyramid could be considered easy, but you get the point. The mechanical Void Dragon roared, a deafening bellow that was carried across the entire hall of the now ruined and thoroughly wrecked temple, echoing across the corridors the heroic band of Omegans had already traversed, all strewn with corpses and covered with blood, to be heard in the burning factories that had been put to the torch by Omegan artillery and tanks, where until now the Machine Cult had been churning out the demon engines and machines of terror.

The mechanical dragon spat out purple flames from its large metal jaws as it built itself up to its full enormous height, towering above mortal humans and droids alike. This was the Metal Dragon, the mechanical terror to whom the acolytes of the Machine Cult made obeisance and to whom they brought legions of slaves, for whom they laboured day and night in the factories to construct metal automatons. All in the hopes of one day being granted the honour of being processed, that is ascended to a higher state of existence as a creature of metal. For that was the perfection the Harbinger of Terror offered the true believers.

Those that failed were consumed by his purple flames that were like burning hellfire, their incinerated corpses being left to serve as an example to others.

Siobhan had faced a god before, way back on Terminus together with Qae, from whom she had not heard since then. That Mad God had driven the entire planet insane, his mental influence such that they had almost succumbed and been likewise driven to madness before they could defeat his vile influence. Compared to that this was...well, better in the sense that she knew what to do.

She had been all but about to keel over and fall to the ground, but the sigils of hope gave her a boost, energy shooting through her, enabling her to blot out the pain, shake off the tiredness. She would have thanked HK for the sigil but there were more urgent things on her mind now. "Kill it. Suppressive fire on it, I need cover. I'm gonna rip its wings apart. Be ready to chop its head off!" she had to yell to make herself heard over the dragon's roar.

Piles of debris rose up into the air as she concentrated, all being hurled forward at great speed and velocity. Suffice to say that thoroughly wrecking the pyramid had given her a lot to work with and so the the debris rose. Her intent was not really to bombard the dragon with the wreckage of his temple, for she doubted that would do much damage, but rather to provide some measure of cover against the jet of flame that was shooting from his enormous mouth. Then as she sank deeply into the Force, drawing on the energy that the sigils were granting her, she exerted her will to manifest two gigantic telekinetic hands.

Both grabbed the wings of Mag'ladroth. Grabbed them in a grip that refused to yield, one that lifted walkers from the ground and tossed them through the air, and pulled. This took concentration - lots and lots of it! - thus leaving her vulnerable, for there was only so much energy she could pour into a force barrier to shield her, only so much into the debris that was flying and would no doubt get consumed, but for a telekinesis master specialising in throwing very things it was feasible. Pulling so hard to rip the wings of the Mad God off so that he would hopefully come falling down, brought to the plateau of mere mortals.

The surviving Omegan soldiers and Iron Knights, space marines standing against the onslaught of the forces of Chaos, had sought cover as much as that were possible, what with plenty of debris lying around, though the flames would no doubt exact their tribute in blood, and were firing, lobbing in thermal detonators, volleys of bolter and repeater fire, missiles, anything. Moira, who incidentally was still alive, had apparently found some cover behind some debris and was hefting a missile launcher. Bringing the heavy launcher into position caused her no difficulty with super strength, but was awkward given the fact that she had only one arm. The other had been ripped off by a rock demon before she beat the crap out of it. The explosive was loaded and ready to go. Hoisting the heavy weapon on her shoulder, assassin droid searched through the guidance system with her eye Locking onto what passed for the dragon's enormous, the trigger was pulled. A flash of heat indicated the launcher had sent its weapon. Quickly she reloaded the weapon with machine efficiency, locked on target, fired, then no more missiles to be found, ran.

The rubble projectiles thrown at the dragon by Kerrigan melted in the heat of his fiery breath, splashing him with molten metal and rock instead. The beast roared once more as the molten materials dripped off of his body and fell down onto the troops below, slightly hardening on the way down.
"Let us hope it will be that simple, Colonel."
HK quipped at Kerrigan's command to kill the beast. The droid would grab his MK 1 bolter, raising it up at the beast he would start to clunk out bolt after bolt, sending the explosive projectiles flying at the metal dragon. The projectiles would explode upon contact, joining the others in creating poofs of black smoke and rain of shrapnel around the beast.

The beast struggled to remain in air, its mechanic muscles groaned and propulsion systems roared when Kerrigan grabbed a hold of its wings.

Mechanic dragon whipped around its tail, there was something at the end that looked like a sting. Green light formed about the sting as the Dragon launched a beam of energy towards Kerrigan. The beam would hit right in front of Colonel, not Kerrigan herself but ground before her, soon enough it would whip to hit her, of course.

But by then a clank was heard and scrape, HK dropped his bolter and wielded his new Sith alchemy swords. Jumping in between Colonel and the energy beam the droid would cross his blades, taking a secure stance as the beam whipped towards them. HK shifted the swords so that the beam would hit upon where the swords crossed.

The beam hissed and pushed back on HK, his stance was strong enough, although there was question about how long he would be able to hold the position, after the damage Kerrigan gave to him, thank Kerrigan. He would adjust the swords soon enough, deflecting the beam back so that it sizzled against the grand before shifting the blades bit lower and turning them.

The beam roared about the wall of the cave upwards and hit the dragon back, delivering good damage to his chest and jaw.

The beast screeched and roared more as he was shaken and began to fall down from his height. His wings were being pulled, but his body still held, Kerrigan would be able to pull them off eventually, but that would take more time, more energy, more concentration.
The dragon roared more as he was falling down, his tail, wings, and members flailing about as he tried to cling to the wall.

He was able to catch the wall and stop himself from completely falling just before he would crash the Omega troopers.

Instead, he roared once more, his face moving to look upon Kerrigan as he opened his maw wide and roared, he was preparing to unleash another torrent of flames, directly onto the Colonel.

@[member="HK-36"]

Pain shot through her. Burning pain as the torrent of flames shot towards her. Sure, the sigils of hope had amplified her, given her the boost she needed to carry on, they would undoubtedly play a vital part in her duel with Abaddon, but even so she had expended lots of energy in the battle with HK and thus could not be expected to suddenly shoot upward into the sky and dodge the firstorm like she had done before when the possessed HK unleashed his purple flames.

Rubble projectiles were thrust forward by her powers to be eaten by the flames, along with the corpses of the dead Bando Gora, metal plaiting from the wall that could serve as a shield until it was cooked by the flames. All this took the heat off her, no pun intended, kept the fires at bay for a while, but they could not fully stop the firestorm.

The force barrier that had been summoned to protect her shimmered as its force energies clashed with the torrent of flames unleashed by the magicks of the dragon, both warring in what would undoubtedly be a brilliant clash of light that would make many a holovid director terribly envious. The barrier flickered as she struggled to maintain it, it felt like she was on fire as searing, burning pain spread through her body. Her armour felt like it was being cooked as it was singed with jets of flame, portions of it just melting away as metal eventually did when confronted with fire.

Siobhan fell and was thrust backwards for several metres as the blast of what flames had gotten past her improvised defences hit her, crashing into a pile of rubble, the molten metal adding to the pain she was feeling. Part of her cheek had been burnt, her bionic hand was worse than useless, it seemed it would need to be rebuilt all together, she was quite certain that one solid durasteel finger had simply been burnt off. She coughed violently at the poofs of black smoke that were rising up into the air, it felt like she was being choked, but she forced herself to stand. At least being exposed to the flames meant that several of her wounds had been effectively cauterised, though that was not much of a mercy!

Eyes ablaze with righteous fury - well, perhaps not as ablaze as the flames shooting from the enormous mouth of the dragon! - she focused again, feeling a sensation of rage rippling through her. Anger, fear, pain, all these feelings gave her fuel as she reached out again to grab the wings of the beast, this time refusing to give way, refusing to give ground. From across the wrecked temple grounds discarded bolters and blaster rifles rose into the air at her mental command and fired at the dragon. She expected the effect to be minor, but fire they would.

All the while she gripped the wings of the Machine God tight and force pulled, with renewed vigour, with a renewed desire to utterly crush and destroy the beast, tear its wings off and beat it with them, plunge one of them through its enormous mouth until it had been impaled upon it.

The dragon screeched and the light of its flames danced about the cave hall as the jet of flames splashed about the rubble and improvised metal shields Kerrigan summoned. As much as the Colonel was determined to destroy the unholy machine, the machine was determined to destroy the Colonel and maintain its reputation as the Machine God. The flames quickly devoured the metal and stone shields, giving Kerrigan still those few precious seconds to act.

In mean time,
"Fire!"
The droid yelled, his bolter in hand he clunked out a barrage of bolters among with other Protectorate soldiers, coordinating their fire for maximum efficiency, they kept the dragon distracted from making that final powerful jet of flames towards the Colonel to finish her off, even as her barrier failed and she was thrown back the dragon was kept back from lunging forward to chomp her by the Protectorate.

With a flick of his wrist HK armed himself with his trusty shatterpistol. The dragon gave a rumbling roar-laugh at its sight,
"Fool! You think a toy will be enough to de-"
The drake was cut off as the droid pulled the trigger with a quick aim, the projectile was shot silently and then a large crack and sizzle of electricity echoed as one of the dragon's eyes exploded.

The beast shrieked and roared, poised ready to burn the soldiers and the droid in a wall of fire from his gullet when the guns rose into the air by command of Kerrigan and opened simultaneous fire. The barrage of discarded guns and the projectiles from surviving Iron Knights and Company jerked the dragon back, his wings moved with flatter and crossed in front of his body, creating a shield between him and the Protectors, keeping him away from counter-attacking.

And then Kerrigan threw out her arms once more, gripping the dragon's wings once more, the metal groaned and shrieked as they struggled and wrestled, the powerful durable metal body against equally powerful telekinetic powers of the Colonel.

The great beast groaned and roared as it was plunged down from the wall it kept to, the Protectorate soldiers jumping and tumbling aside as they dodged the great metal body from crushing them, HK threw aside his bolter once more and gripped his swords.
The dragon slithered and wiggled on the ground, throwing each way as it clawed on the ground to pull back, being pulled on its back as his wings fluttered and were thrown every way, their metal joins slowly starting to compact and crack as they were being pulled away.

It was then that just in front of the doorway to the cave a pillar of black and dark blue smoke appeared, a whirlwind of flames and powerful pulse of dark force was felt as from inside large slender demon appeared, his body was covered in a mix of dark blue scales and feathers of purple and sky-blue, two large black wings extended from his back like those of a raven, his head had a large sharp beak as well, he carried a staff of a sorcerer, lightning and dark arcanic energy emanating from it. He squawked and spoke in raspy screech,
"Behold, for I am the mighty avatar of God of Sor-"
"Shut up!"
The dragon called out, watching the raven demon with its one good remaining eye, the new demon squawked, his arms slowly lowering as his speech was interrupted.
"Run, save yourself! It's the Kerrigan!"
The dragon roared to the Raven Demon as HK jumped on his chest, the claws on his feet digging into the metal bones of the drake as his wrist started to rotate at high speeds, turning his hands into two buzzsaws made from alchemical Sith blades, he started to cut away and saw at the neck of the Void Dragon to decapitate him.

The creature roared and screeched terribly as metal groaned and sparks flew from his back, his wings finally being pulled away from his body, torn violently, in a gruesome spectacle by Colonel Kerrigan, who will probably proceed to beat him with it while his head was being cut off.

The Raven creature just watched the scene with his wide eyes, slowly backing off into the entrance before he turned around and just ran for it.

One might note that Siobhan still had to fight Abaddon, the dark overlord of the Bando Gora, which might also explain how utterly broken she was after that duel and would have fallen into a pit of lava if Maelion had not saved her. Perhaps it also explained why after Gehenna the broken splinter groups of the Bando Gora would come to venerate THE Kerrigan as a new Chaos Goddess. Doubtless the Iron Knight would be a good Chaos Champion of hers, after all the Eldorai already called him the Metal Demon.

Across the hall chaos reigned, flames shot throughout it as the Chaos Dragon, the mechanical god, tried in vain to crush the Omegans who dared to attempt to topple him from his throne. But now the great beast was in its death throes, its power was broken and soon it would be cast into the very oblivion it had visited upon so many. Just as the Bando Gora would be wiped and their unholy city utterly razed. Amidst all the chaos Moira advanced, slowly, for due to the damage sustained she was limping. The scorching jets of flame that had raged across the ancient temple grounds had burnt away most of her synthetic skin, leaving her machine form exposed for all to see, her mechanical limbs were likewise damaged and singed by flames, but she advanced with the relentless of a machine.

In her one good hand, for as has been mentioned before a daemon made of rock and with eyes the colour of lava, doubtless likewise a creation of the twisted mind of the mechanical dragon, had ripped the other off before she crushed him, she held an MK1 boltgun and its flat crack would have echoed dully in the air if the sound had not been blotted out by the defeaning roars and screeches of the dragon, metal groaning, sparks flying as Siobhan worked her telekinetic magic and wielded his Sith blades like buzzsaws to decapitate the great beast now that it had been brought low.

She squeezed the trigger and the bolter roared as she fired into the beast's massive neck, enhanced machine targeting sending the rounds to just those spots were weak points had been identified before, her magazine depleted, she grabbed a thermal detonator and, activating the trigger mechanism, flung it with great force through the air so that it would land right in the great beast's mouth as a deafening roar escaped it along with a futile jet of flame that had been the burning death of so many that had come before the Omegans to slay it, and failed at that.

A powerful explosion resounded across the hall, joining the symphony of chaos, death and destruction as the thermal detonated inside the beast's mouth, a shower of metal being the result. Through the flames Moira kept advancing, though limping, grabbing a discarded alchemically hardened Sith blade, perhaps from one of the priests HK had slain, she held it in a tight grip and lunged to ram it into the beast's throat where the explosion had blasted a hole. Her eyes were void of life, devoid of humanity, though they seemed to glow an eerie blue so at odds with the coldness she was feeling, but this was what she had been created for, though of Mechanus for now she only knew the name.

That would change. Many things would change in the future. A future of machines.

As for Siobhan, she was still standing, thanks to HK and his tactical direction of the surviving Iron Knights, Iron Company and ODF soldiers she had been shielded enough to carry out her unrelenting telekinetic onslaught. Battered, bloodied, burnt, but also unbent, unbowed, unbroken, even as flames swept through the halls, providing a beautiful spectacle. The mechanical wings, now torn free from Mag'ladroth the Void Dragon, the new Leviathan whose flames devoured all, were raised by her mind, then brutally slammed back upon the dragon.

She beat the Mag'ladroth with his own gigantic mechanical wings, wielding them much like one would wield a hammer, only in this case the nails she was hitting were rather big and rather than just hit she wanted to crush them utterly. With the two sigils of hope, one courtesy of Iron Knight, fuelling her and incidentally also probably keeling her from just toppling and falling to the ground, she beat the dragon. Again and again and again...

The armor on dragon's neck cracked under onslaught of HK's cuts and bolts from Moira's guns, the droid was able to cut deeper into it, the dragon gave out another screech, quickly cut off by Moira throwing a grenade down his throat, the beast chocked a bit and gulped as explosion rocked his belly and great cloud of smoke rose around them.

The sounds of battle were heard, slamming of wings against metal body, buzzsaws cutting into metal body and components, bolts exploding and cracking metal plates. All of this violence was obscured by the cover of dust, it was something that could not be described by words either way and one would have to only imagine all of it.

But after a few good minutes of pounding and robot mutilation, HK's voice could be heard as the dust began to settle.
"Stop, everybody stop!"
He called out,
"I am pretty sure she is dead."
He stated.

As the dust fell down and all was visible again it was clear the droid was right. HK clanged to one of the large metal spike-horns on the beast's head, his fangs broken off and jaw twisted, barely hanging on. The head was some distance away from the body, trail of oil and cooling liquid leading back to the main of the body from a portion of its long slender severed neck.

The body itself looked more like a roadkill, smashed and torn into pieces, blue and black from oil and other liquids in the creature, its limbs thrown aside and the torso almost flat from being smashed and pounded by the creature's own wings and other forces. The creature wasn't just slain, it was an overkill.

"Yep, she is dead."
HK said, hopping off of the dragon's neck and sheathing his swords, he would keep them, although Siobhan would feel there was still trace of the Dark Side on them, but then again, there would be trace of the Dark Side on pretty much any Sith Alchemic Sword.

HK picked up the head and spine of the other HK unit, conveniently nearby, as he dug his hand into the dragon's skull and pulled out a memory unit, covered in wires and with a circuit board attached, it will serve as another clue as to where the beast came from and what its true nature was. Perhaps indeed it was forged by the Bando Gora, but the droid had a feeling it was a machine forged on Mechanus as well.

"Well, looks like the Machine God is dead."
The droid glanced about, reaching to the hilt of one of his swords in case somebody else would jump out and correct him with news that there was yet another beast in the cavern to fight, although the last surprise enemy ran off on them at sight of the carnage.
"Anyway, let us get out of here and regroup with others? I could use a pit stop at the CP for some repairs."
He would look to Moira and Siobhan to check how they were holding up

@[member="HK-36"]

It was done.

As terribly overused as these three words were, in this case they were quite fitting. The Void Dragon, Machine God of the Bando Gora, was dead. That was one way of putting the fact that the creature had been completely smashed, twisted, beaten to a point of ridiculous overkill, limbs tossed aside, torso almost flat from being beaten by its own wings, liquid seeping out of open wounds.

Siobhan felt the traces of the darkside emanating from the Sith blades that HK had acquired for himself though she did not care much. For one there would be traces of the dark side on any Sith blade - indeed any weapon or device forged through the Sith alchemical arts. Moreover, it was not like she was free of the dark taint...just the opposite actually.

For her part Moira removed the blade she had plunged into the beast's neck, the weapon now coated in a strange blue and black liquid, and sheathed it. Blue eyes flashing eeriely she tilted her head to the side, something common to her both as a human and as a human replica droid it seemed, as she contemplated the dragon and tearing the memory unit out of its skull. "As all 'gods' fall. A most interesting creature. Exploring this Mechanus would be worthwhile," she spoke calmly, emotionlessly in her dull monotone.

It had been an interesting experience for her as well, less apparent perhaps than for Siobhan and HK, but upon Gehenna she had been awakened to truth, about her true nature, about her purpose in existence. Let Siobhan go and have her heroic moment against Abaddon. At this stage Moira could not yet know that she would prevail, albeit at great cost that would make the victory appear almost Pyrrhic, but it would not matter. An inaudible, purely electronic transmission was sent to @[member="Maelion Liates"], telling her that the Machine God had been destroyed. It meant a potential rival was gone.

Siobhan was still standing, though she looked and felt like hell, without the two sigils she would have collapsed by now. "Yeah, let's get out of here. 22nd ODF has set up a CP not far from here. We'll link up and then get on with the final push into the Bando Gora city after stocking up on ammo and evacuating the heavily wounded. We broke the Machine Cult, so most of their heavy armour is gone, the rest of the Bando Gora will share their fate and be wiped out," she coughed slightly, her throat felt raw, all the smoke billowing up into the air had not helped matters. "I need a frakking drink," she muttered as she walked towards the area where the great doors should have been, but they had been destroyed during the battle.

She could not rest yet. A battle would still have to be fought. Even as our heroes had been duelling the Machine Cult and crushed their God thousands of Omegan soldiers pushing through the caverns, along with tanks, droids, machines of war, inexorably, ruthlessly, like an unstoppable juggernaut, a crusading force that had come to bring light to the darkness and cleanse the Chaos worshippers with fire and steel. At this stage Siobhan could not know just how abruptly, cruelly and tragically her time with the Protectorate would come to an end, nor would she know about the crises the great nation would soon face, that it would in due time find itself facing invasion, a battle she would ironically miss due to circumstance.

But that was far off. Today she was still Exarch, HK as this writer recalls should be a Colonel, and the Bando Gora menace would be ended. The culmination of the Grand Inquisition she had begun years ago, what she had worked towards since that fateful day when she, HK, Jorus and Maelion had fought their way through a capital ship infested with Reavers, when she had duelled the Primarch.

Blood for the Blood Queen, skulls for the skull throne of THE Kerrigan!

"Who said you were coming to explore it in the first place?"
HK said to Moira at her comment about exploring the planet of Mechanus,
"I was the one that struck the flint across steel and threw the first spark that lighted the forges of Mechanus, it is my responsibility, and by extension that makes whatever way the planet tied into this Bando Gora mess, and you, my responsibility."
He motioned to the Mechanical dragon then, looking to Moira,
"I saw these beasts before and they were guardians, not gods of evil cults, if he has found his way here with one of my brethren then something must have gone wrong in the long forgotten crypts of Mechanus' darkness."
Of course, Moira would most likely find her way into the expedition anyway, she was a crafty sort, she would have tricks up her sleeve.

As Kerrigan gave her orders, HK nodded and walked closer to offer his sturdy, although rather shattered and damaged, metal body for support of the wounded Colonel,
"I will need that sigil back later on once we will get back to CP, by the way, I do not run charity."
He quipped, leading others along with Kerrigan through the huge gates of the cave hall and then down through the dark corridors.

It would be a bit of a walk before they would be able to arrive at their destination, but soon enough they could see faint light at the end of the tunnel, of course the light was rather reddish and flamey, after all once they would get out of the tunnels they would be greeted by the sight of hell-hole that was Gehenna. Either way, would there ever be a perfect moment for @[member="Maelion Liates"] to arrive for last bit of comedy it would be now as the group was nearing the exit.

@[member="HK-36"] @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Receiving the signal, Maelion was waiting for them at the exit of the tunnel. They both looked like they'd been through a meat grinder, which was nothing unusual, especially for Siobhan.
"You have returned," Maelion said blandly. She was so good at stating the blindingly obvious! "We shall expect a full report on proceedings," she added. No 'good job guys!', just a statement. It was hard to imagine that she and HK were both machines.

@[member="Maelion Liates"], @[member="HK-36"]

Maelion was her subordinate, had been so for a long time actually, so Siobhan would most assuredly not be reporting to her. The HRD was good for killing things at least, though if she or Moira - the latter was annoying and terribly overrated as far as Siobhan was concerned, though doubtless the feeling was mutual - got added to the casualty list Siobhan would not care. Doubtless that feeling was mutual as well.

"I need a sitrep on our progress and the troops ready for the final push, Agent," Siobhan said flatly similarly not saying anything along the lines of 'good to see you' or 'good job' to the HRD, who assuredly had slaughtered lots of Reavers and monsters. "The Machine God's dead, the rest of the Reavers will follow when we take Abaddon's Citadel." These were truly inspiring words, but then one good thing about HRDs was that they had no interest in listening to dramatic speeches that in any case were full of redundancies, and so Siobhan limped out of the tunnel towards the ODF command post that had been erected in what had been the Bando Gora factory grounds.

"Doubtless we will have save her from her own foolishness and crude recklessness. Once this battle is done we shall leave 'Protectorate' control behind us." Moira communicated to Maelion in a purely electronic and thus inaudible transmission, impossible to be intercepted by anyone who was not part of the link. The Machine God had committed the error of still relying on organics, being tied to a deluded death cult, rather than processing them entirely.

Onward to victory! Glory! To sacrifice yourself upon the altar of the motherland!

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] @[member="Maelion Liates"]

HK just stared at Maelion as she spoke, waiting for that perfect last joke set up that never came. Seconds turned into minutes as he kept looking at her awkwardly while Siobhan limped besides them towards the command post for quick rest,
"So in a way you are asking what we have encountered down there? Because if that is what you are asking then we have encountered-"
He would look in Siobhan's direction.
"The usual."
He said by himself as Siobhan was too busy shambling off to get her wounds check.

And with that joke ruined, he just shook his head, shuffling behind Kerrigan to get repairs of his own.
"I will just go now."
He muttered as he went past Maelion.

And that concludes this episode of Misadventures of Iron Knight and Ever-Colonel Kerrigan, tune in next time as they get themselves in trouble in tunnels of the forgotten planet Mechanus. What will they find? Will Kerrigan collapse more roofs and wreck more havoc? Will HK find the cause of disturbances that led to his brethren turning to service of the dark? And will Moira find out who created her cybernetic body and for that purpose, perhaps bringing Maelion along with her for it? Answers to that and more will come in the next episode Dungeons With Dragons!
