Partners for an In-Depth, Long and Complex Role-play!

Hello and thanks to all who decide to pop in and check out this thread!

My name is Austin and I'm interested in finding capable and active writers to help me on the creation of a long-term and very high quality role-play, revolving largely around the dark themes of human flaws on both large and small scales. All around I intend for this very long arc I have in mind to be a very solemn and intelligent story, written by equally serious writers who, after I can prove to them that I am capable of assisting to shepherd this dream towards its goal, are capable of remaining dedicated. For this to remain as in-depth and complex as I hope it to be, OOC cooperation and communication is a must and unexplained, mysterious disappearances (something I'm certain a lot of us have experienced on the behalf of others while role-playing) is an obstacle I would very much like to avoid.

An integral part of the story in mind does involve a fair share of faction role-play. However, I have chosen to post this advertisement here primarily because of the fact the story spans over the faction itself, rather than vice-versa. While the faction itself will play a core part of the story, the role-play itself extends beyond this, heavily involving personal character development and, perhaps upon its success, hopefully laying the groundwork for bigger and better things, setting a strong example of well-written and thoughtful role-plays, without the use of excessive violence or overused, cliched plot devices that may serve as a model for many other stories to come.

I'm willing to accept any amount and type of writer or character, with the only requests being a good grasp upon plot development and grammar, as well as being an active contributor to the story as a whole. Together, I would like to nurture a very capable and interesting story that will be both a memorable and learning experience for all those involved, and perhaps, in addition, all those who may enjoy reading our content.

The Reborn Imperium. A brand new minor faction I began initially as the spiritual successor of the Tenebris Triumvirate, a very briefly run minor faction which was owned by a friend of mine.

While the link provided shows the faction as the most barren, skeletal outline of what I intend for it to become, it was only created yesterday. :p Expect it to become more dense and fleshed out by this weekend.

I'm quite active here as you know. You can count me in :) I had a story before that lasted for a five years. So I can handle long term and in depth ;)

No problem, I understand! I've been very conflicted over how to formally describe the faction on the page, so there isn't much up other than a few rough draft threads I've pulled from my friend's previous dead faction. (Still written by me, so no plagiarism. :D)

My initial concept for the Reborn Imperium is largely open to debate, mainly because, in such an early stage of its development, it's really a hit or miss to see what ideas will function properly and garner a good response, and what others might fall flat.

Right now it fixates upon the idea of absolute equality. Acting as a socialist theocracy, it promotes a rather benign philosophy but, in truth, the reality of its goals involves a darker path that will draw it into open conflict with both of the Force alignments. While initially proposed among the masses as an almost romantic, freedom fighter-esque group, it will grow to become more malign and twisted as time progresses. As the intent remains well founded, the means to create such a peaceful society further pressures and warps the faction, pushing it to take further atrocious steps to utterly annihilate all differences that remain an independent factor which, in their eyes, could threaten all that they have built upon.

Obviously, it takes heavy influence from the Grand Republic and Empire, but I hope to add a fresh perspective by additional influence from real world issues, such as Germany's rise to fascism and the Soviet Union's downfall to create a very organic structure of development for the faction.

Not going to lie, this sounds highly realistic. The more they try to eliminate difference in order to create equality, the more corrupt and twisted it looks from the exterior, oppressive in a sense while trying to be liberating. Very, very interesting. I may have to throw a character into the mix, though I'm not sure which, and help stir the pot in some future RPs. Color me interested.

I'm interested by this, and it might be a good start for a character I'm plotting to create, is there one main faction leader i.e a Mao type person?
and is this socialism a blanket type or is it Animal farm like whereby the political elite get to keep their luxuries as the character I plan to make is highly materialistic?

I'm happy to hold your interest!

While my character implements the theocratic part of the government by dubbing himself the Imperial Paladin and preaching as a divine figurehead of the coming new age of equality and stuff, there will be no direct IC faction leader that holds power. Instead, ICly, I hope to promote a very hostile, greedy and conflicted political environment where those interested will receive their shares of power, find themselves in deadlocks with rivals and formulate conspiracies for power, unhindered by an overarching main faction leader.

Thus, I believe we'll go with the luxurious lifestyle for the politicians. It would help to give our faction the appearance as a declining light of hope, steadily turning into what they originally hoped to destroy and would also help to externally simplify that we're trying to present ourselves as the bad guys, while retaining the internal, complex and realistic nature that is influenced by the decline of the USSR.

And also, it's fun to have nice things. ;)

I've tossed you an invite! I hope you'll excuse the rather bland appearance of the page right now, there's still quite a bit of writing to do on my part.

Also, if you're interested, I can make an introductory thread where you can be recruited ICly.
