Description: The P-15 is nothing more or less than a very powerful olfactory sensor, capable of differentiating between numerous and conflicting scents with a high degree of accuracy. It can adapt quickly to a normal background melange of scents, allocate them to the background, but still break down and recognize each component. It can also make educated guesses on entirely new scents, comparable in size, function, and flexibility to a translation droid's database (however, it would not be able to fill a droid's recombinative functions or draw conclusions apart from those enumerated).
The P-15 has the following functional capabilities in the field.
- Can obtain a significant lock on even a thoroughly cleaned subject, or trace elements from a specific droid.
- With a lock, can track with high accuracy unless a physical trail is broken in a substantive way (as with high-altitude speeder flight, or long-term submersion and mobility in moving water). Can follow a trail several days old under most circumstances.
- Can detect explosives, recently fired blasters, or Vong biots within an average radius of 10 metres.
