Special features: The ability to retract the blaster into a small, less than fist size module located on the wrist. The ability to expand wrist module into a hold-out sized blaster that fit's in the user's hand.
Strengths:
- Easy to conceal: The entire concept of the OS-102 is to provide the user with an easily concealable weapon that can be activated and utilized quickly, making full use of the element of surprise.
- Difficult to reload: While the OS-102 does come with the ability to swap out power cells, the wrist rig to which the blaster itself is mounted makes reloading difficult. This weapon was intended to be used as a last-ditch self-defense measure, or as a sudden surprise/assassination instrument.
- Limited range: The OS-102 is a hold-out blaster, intended for point blank to personal distance combat. As such, it has limited effective range of approximately 250 to 300 meters.
- Under-powered: The OS-102 is little to no stopping power and is intended to be used on unsuspecting/lightly armored to not armored targets. As such, the weapon can be countered using virtually any modern mass-produced body armor or better.
Description:
The OS-102 Wrist-mounted Retractable Hold-out Blaster is a hit-man's tool through and through. It trades stopping power, range, and ammunition capacity for the ability to retract and extend the blaster using a wrist assembly that is easy to conceal. The concept behind the OS-102 is surprise, nothing more, and in that comes it's deadliness. After all, all the powerful blasters and armor in the galaxy won't save you if you don't see the blaster bolt coming.
