- Organization Symbol: A split sphere, representing balance and the convergence of the living plane and the Netherworld.
The Order of the Uneti emerged as a splinter group of the Guardians of the Whills following the Netherworld Crisis. When Akala and the horrors of the Netherworld threatened the galaxy, the Guardians found themselves unprepared to confront them. As protectors, they considered it their duty to study the threat and learn how to resist it.
The Uneti formed to pursue that purpose: studying the Netherworld, containing its influence, and protecting the living plane from further incursions.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Headquarters: Scattered.
Domain
The Order of the Uneti hides in plain sight. Known publicly as humble, charitable monks, its members travel throughout the galaxy, listening for signs of Netherworld activity while maintaining an unassuming presence.
The Order provides homes for children and funds orphanages in major cities across numerous planets. These institutions offer education, financial support, and a comfortable upbringing while allowing the monks to discreetly identify Force-sensitive children. Some are offered the opportunity to join the Order; others receive the support needed to build successful lives, whether they are adopted or leave upon coming of age.
Beyond their orphanages, the monks are known for spiritual healing. Their knowledge of the Netherworld offers comfort and mental stability to those affected by loss. Certain monks specialize in the Aing-Tii practice of Flow Walking, allowing mourners to revisit moments with their loved ones. Through these memories, the Order also searches for evidence of Netherworld activity.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Hierarchy
Grand Master → Master → Disciple → Initiate.
Membership
Selection begins in childhood among those raised in the Order's orphanages. Masters observe the children for Force sensitivity, perception, and the other qualities required of a prospective member. Those selected receive specialized classes and training alongside the same general education provided to the other children.
Upon coming of age, candidates choose whether to join the Order. Their shared upbringing establishes a sense of community and reinforces the secrecy on which the covenant depends.
Full membership is restricted to those raised within the Order. Outsiders considered useful may become contacts, but they are never admitted to its inner ranks or informed of its secrets and true purpose.

Climate
A shared upbringing binds the monks into a close-knit family. Members who follow the Order's rules and place the community before themselves receive its support and protection.
Breaking that trust carries severe consequences. Those who betray the Order's secrecy are ostracized or killed without hesitation.

Reputation
The Order enjoys a favorable reputation among ordinary citizens, who know its members as charitable monks.
Curios
At a glance, an Uneti monk is difficult to distinguish from any other, save for the Uneti staff they carry. Each staff bears etched and burned runes understood only by members of the Order. Intricate tattoos repeat this symbolism across the monk's body, with their patterns varying according to rank and individual.
All members share one marking: a small burn at the base of the neck, shaped in the Order's symbol. When light catches the scar, faint shards of embedded kyber crystal become visible.
Initiates who choose to join the Order fully undergo a brutal branding ritual. While the burn is still fresh, slivers from the same kyber crystal embedded in their staff are pressed into the folds of the wounded flesh. Masters tend the injury and work to prevent infection, though the nature of the ritual makes healing difficult.
As their bodies attune to the kyber shards, initiates suffer a high fever accompanied by visions. Those who survive the healing and attunement process leave the rank of Initiate behind and become Disciples.

Rules
- All things originating in the Netherworld are unnatural and must remain within their own realm.
- Drawing power exclusively from one side of the Force is impractical.
- Secrecy and the Order take precedence over the individual.
- Remove Netherworld entities from the living plane.
- Close Netherworld gates where possible; monitor those that cannot be closed.
- Maintain balance between the living plane and the Netherworld.
- Prevent another crisis on the scale of Akala's incursion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Order traces its roots to the Guardians of the Whills, a monastic group active on Jedha during the rise of the Galactic Empire. Self-appointed protectors of kyber crystals, the Guardians believed in both the crystals' power and the Force itself. With the Jedi believed to have been destroyed, they sought to preserve balance through quiet devotion and protection. Their full numbers remained unknown.
The coming of Akala turned whispers of the Netherworld into a galactic catastrophe. Force-users and non-Force-users alike suffered as portals claimed loved ones and worlds were devastated. The Guardians worked quietly to understand the crisis, but their knowledge proved insufficient.
Among them, a woman named Kirin emerged as a leading figure in the study of Akala and the Netherworld. She taught others and assembled a network of lore hunters, gathering whatever knowledge might help return Akala to her own realm. Through a wider galactic effort, Akala was eventually driven back, and the galaxy began to recover.
The damage endured. Corellia and other affected worlds could not simply be restored to their former states. Recognizing the need for a dedicated response, Kirin separated from the Guardians of the Whills and founded the Order of the Uneti. The new covenant focused entirely on studying the Netherworld and resisting its threats.
Others drew a different lesson from the crisis. Having witnessed Akala's power, some sought to claim it for themselves. The Sith, in particular, delved deeper into the Netherworld, opening rifts and uncontrolled portals. In response, the Uneti monks began to make their presence known, increasingly determined to develop a force capable of confronting these dangers without relying on the Jedi or galactic governments.
As the Order grew, more wayward Guardians joined its ranks, and the monks extended their reach throughout the galaxy. Their independence became increasingly important as governments fought one another while overlooking the Netherworld and those seeking its power.
The Order continues its work in secrecy, moving beneath the familiar guise of a charitable monastic community.
