Located on the aquatic world of Ando, Ophidian Consolidated is dedicated to creating a brighter future for the Galaxy. A subsidiary of Roble Manufacturing, Ophidian Consolidated operates within the realm of experimental weaponry and technology that can be developed and used to further the safety, security, and prosperity of the galaxy at large.
That is the corporation's public purpose, at least.
In actuality, Ophidian Consolidated is a front for the Ophidian Dusk Crime Syndicate, an organization run by the mysterious man only known as the Nomad. A subsidiary of Roble Manufacturing, Ophidian uses this access to the intergalactic corporation's resources to be able to develop weapons and technology of serious purpose. Roble Manufacturing, aware of this secret, agrees to these terms on the basis that Roble gets a cut of the experimental tech and profits, legal or illegal.
Based out of Ando, a water world known for its turbulent seas and storms, it is remote enough that most of Ophidian's activities go unnoticed, and those who do cast a gaze towards the company see nothing more than a small corporation fiddling with weather and water technology. Altogether, Ophidian Consolidated may put on a public face as a corporation dedicated to creating the future, it is a front for something with a much more sinister purpose.
RATIONALE
The Nomad is a mysterious, enigmatic personality. How he came to be, how Ophidian Dusk came to be, or how Ophidian Consolidated came to be are all largely mysteries. It is true that the agreement made between the two companies seems to be mutually beneficial, but how the Nomad and Alban Roble met in the first place is still unknown -- and it might forever be.
