Operation Guillotine: First Order Dominion of Pa'Desh

Prefsbelt Commander
Character
Pa’Desh, a gem of the Unknown Regions. In a part of the Galaxy, dominated by piracy, violence and barbarity, the system is one which sits as a beacon of relative stability and civility. In the past years, Pa’Desh has sat as an ally of imperial order in our part of the Galaxy. Pa’Deshi blood was spilled for Sieger Ren during our great war against the Galaxy at large, and their kyber crystals and other development in weapons helped us bring the dreaded Galactic Alliance to the negotiating table on Kaeshana.

But despite their previous support, Pa’Deshs’ priorities have changed. In the intervening years, the planet has been struck by political instability, caused by a decades old schism within the caste system. An emergent faction of Raj’s and officials have risen and asserted their will over our, albeit weak minded ally, Badishah Reynash Chieema'bal III. Pa’Desh’s own messenger from the Gods has in recent years moved his politics away from us. Trade from the system is now scarcer, and no longer do Pa’Deshi troops train with our own forces.

With so much potential wasted, and so many resources at stake, the First Order seeks to change things on Pa’Desh, once and for all. A group of Chiss generals has offered us a way into the planet, and now seeks a regime change. One with us acting as the blade to sever the head. A guillotine if you will. But our operation must be precise. To allow this betrayal of an old ally to become public, will turn the populace of billions into zealots, who will fight against us in a religious crusade.

We must act fast. We must act quick. And we must conquer.
Not only for Pa’Desh’s future. But the future of the First Order. The future of our Galaxy!
Page_divider_Praetor_with_grad.png

1. Operation Guillotine: Using a diplomatic visit as cover, a detatchment of First Order stormtroopers, and other special forces operators have embedded themselves in the Badishah’s palace in Pa’Dan. Their objective? Hold the line against a counter offensive by Pa’Desh’s security forces, until an FOSB team can ‘convince’ the God King, to share power with Sieger Ren. Secrecy is vital. We cannot allow the battle to spread beyond the city, or risk an all out war with the Pa’Deshi.

2. Directive Omega IV: While we perform our coups a medical and political team has been dispatched to Bala’Dahl. The cities toxic atmosphere means that the rates of child mortality and the standard of living are horrifying. We must help these people, inoculate them from disease, and see to the creation of pollution controls. If we are to control Pa’Desh, what use are its people, if they are too sick and weak to serve our Order?

3. Operation Nachtsilber: Mulli’grund is the centre of Pa’Desh’s culture. A city, stepped in mist in the tropical mountains. Its museums and artefacts are that of legend. But there is one, which has caught Grand Admiral Carlyle Rausgeber’s interest. The Eye of Killi’bal, Pa’Desh’s God of Death. A massive, red kyber crystal, the power of which, must be researched. Locate the crystal, and extract it for scientific research. But perhaps most importantly, make sure to leave no clue as to your identities.

4. Bring your own objective: For the First Order to successfully capture the system, and secure our reach, miscellaneous objectives must be completed. Go forth, and serve your Supreme Leader.

Sitting in a dimly lit and claustrophobic room at the peak of tower is a tall figure draped in a cloak of black armour with rifle slung over knee where it's barrel stealthily peaks between two shutters forming a barrier against the outside world looking through the Scope Kyli breathes sharply and adjusts the railgun's preset with left hand to one which provided clarity at long range. Bringing that wrist upto where her lips would be behind the helmet before the annunciator she speaks. "All Alpha callsigns this is Alpha-Two, axis of advance one-thousand meters palace road large force of dismounted security infantry. Shall we kill the power and execute the snap?" 'The Snap' referred to setting up a quick impromptu ambush for the incoming Gendarmerie with Kyli in quiet confidence asserting within her own mind the futility of engaging ALPHA in close-quarters in Kyli's mind it was better than permitting them to engage from range where they might employ heavy support weapons and do serious damage to the palace potentially drawing unwanted attention from the world's Citizens and local civil communication Networks.

Kyli's crosshair drifts over what was obviously a local inspector leading the Company-sized force of law enforcement and special forces personnel; Kyli disdained the killing those who had previously supported the First Order although based on the brief it wasn't like she could avoid assigning blame to them for this fate. The Order is "Prevent interruption of the negotiations between nominated representatives of the First Order and the Padeshi Sovereign." And was exactly what they'd do, the FOSB delegation was to be sealed safely in an isolated wing of the Palace; they'd seized digital control of the royal palace's security apparatus shortly after arrival. Kyli watches the Security forces draw closer for a moment before shifting receeding back into the tight room and opening the thick wood blinds slightly before mounting some dusty table; pushing the monastic dining ornament made of ceramic onto the archaic brick floor with some subdued cracking noises. Using the table for firing support she begins taking deeply of breath and watches the crosshair climb up and lower steadily with each lazily and drunk inhale followed behind by a long pause and long-awaited exhale by the muscles in her body. Nestled high in the Forbidden's Palace's steeple yes, from this perch would death descend down and strike their enemies in the form of Kyli's merciless railgun.

"Hostile contacts are special forces and tactical police units, they know what's on the table and so do we. No half measures, gentlemen. Destroy all combatants standby for continued updates on OpFor movements, Alpha-Two out." Kyli's voice would again send another albeit more informal message across their TEAMCOM, their enemy could attempt to surround the Palace but from the steeple she could keep the rest of ALPHA and the Stormtroopers aware of these flanking attempts, more than likely the other members of her team would be distributed throughout acting as force multipliers for their Stormtroopers. Today Kyli would finally have a target rich environment in which to fully exploit her considerable skill as a trained and lethal Sniper though she won't fire the first shot lest the tell-tale trail of her slugs lead to the steeple not that she'd be in the same spot long Kyli had prepared several firing positions throughout the upper levels of the Sovereign's luxurious Palace.

The servants sat in silence, uttering not a word as a squad of stormtroopers rushed in and took them hostage. They sat together in the corner of the room, guarded by two stormtrooper privates. The rest of the troops followed in, carrying in two E-Web turrets. While the crew began the laborious task of setting up the emplacements, Luther contacted Kyli. "Hold for one moment Alpha-Two. Just need five minutes to get the guns set up". The room overlooked a large swathe of the surrounding land, making it an ideal spot to fire upon the enemy. With his finger off the comms, Luther could now hear a low murmuring from the back of the room. He approached to find both the ST guards talking.

"Why here?" the first one said. "This is the worst place to keep servants. It's at least a 15-minute walk to the palace!" The second shook his head. "Don't ever pay attention to briefing? These are Hostar'du, they're too low to be anywhere near the palace. They are probably here to do the dirty work". Luther had approached silently and hadn't been noticed yet. He leaned between the two and said: "Unless you wish to do 'dirty work' for the rest of your life on some miserable backwater planet, I'd keep your mouth shut and focus on the mission". The two fell silent and straightened their backs.

A corporal approached. "Pa'Deshi security spotted, sir. They haven't noticed us yet" The mention of Pa'Deshi force caused some of the servants to stir. Luther turned away from them to address the Corporal fully. "What's the status on th-" he was interrupted as a Twi'lek man leapt at him. Luther had underestimated their desperation, and the small rebellion stirred the rest into a frenzy. The privates stood still, momentarily stunned at the unexpected attack. The Corporal, to his credit, wasted no time and tackled the nearest servant. Luther spun, his fist colliding with the face of the Twi'lek male.

One of the privates was now wrestling his gun with a Zabrak servant, while the other chased one who had fled. The rest of the troop, initially distracted by turret set-up, now ran over to help neutralize the rest of group. With the group once again under control, Luther called over more troops to keep them docile. "Excellent work" the Corporal remarked. "That would have gone downhill if a shot wa-" he was interrupted as a blaster bolt sounded from downstairs. Luther growled in the back of his throat and motioned the Corporal to follow. He drew his rifle and stalked out into the hallway.

The private lay dead in a spreading pool of blood. His gun was missing, as was the servant he was chasing. Looking up, Luther caught a glimpse of the slight figure as he fled the building. Growling again, Luther activated his comms: "This is Alpha-One. I have a hostile: slight build, dark hair, male. Heading towards the security forces". He would pursue himself, but his position was already compromised. Charging into the night wouldn't help anything. He returned to the servant's quarters just as the turrets were finalized. "Warm them up and get ready to fire on my command" he ordered.

Objective 1 - Operation Guillotine: Negotiate with the Badishah
Badishah's Palace

"You have quite the lovely palace here," Samka Derith pleasantly smiled as she inspected the room she was in. "Very grand, I love it." It was the truth. She did love the large pillars, artistic tapestries, marble furniture and fancy rugs. She admired the three statues at the end of the room, no doubt carrying some religious significance. Yes, she was enjoying herself. It was the sort of place she would like to visit and truly take in during her spare time. The small girl, dressed in a non-specific First Order officer's dress robes for the occasion was in good spirits.

Yet she seemed to be the one of the only ones in the room like it.

The First Order delegation had been made up primarily of agents from the FOSB undercover. They'd sealed the room, jammed communications subtly swept the room for traps or bugs. They were clear. What the agents didn't seem to like was how she was in charge. They didn't know her, she was a mysterious stranger taking charge of what was their operation and they were the types who enjoyed having all the knowledge, it made sense, but they'd know different soon enough.

The Badishah and his council sat opposite them, upon a grand chain of chairs, the Badishah's himself slight elevated and the most extravagant. At his side sat his wife, a beautiful if meek looking woman, and son who looked no older than eleven years. The rest of them were the Badishah's advisers, incidentally, likely to be his extended family as well asides from the man Chiss at the end who gave her a subtle nod. He must be one of their collaborators.

They seemed displeased for other reasons. The group remained blissfully unaware of the special forces seizing control of the area. Instead more attention was brought upon how their honoured guest was a young woman.

"I mean no disrespect, Madam," the Badishah grumbled, his tone full of blatant disrespect. "But when the Supreme Leader said he would send a most important figure, one who spoke with his voice, I was expecting something... more. I am the ruler," the man gestured to the riches around him, "of one of the most important systems in the region. I deserve an envoy of true power to speak with, not a little girl."

Samka's head tilted as she regarded the man. Her smile lingered but it was no longer joyful, it was empty and suddenly sinister. The temperature around the room seemed to plummet, causing a notable shiver from both locals and the First Order alike.

"I'll show you true power soon enough, Badishah," the Ren said softly.

OBJECTIVE TWO

"Feth, this city must be a garbage heap."

"How'd the Colonel pull the short straw on this Op? We should've been kicking these savages heads in."

The first words were those of his obnoxious squadron. It was a surprise to him to see they sported the crimson symbol of his superior's House.

Boring, is probably what happens to those directly assigned to the Supreme Commander.

Shaking his head, Jaeger rotated his head to look to the rest of his team.

"Cut the chatter. Secure the LZ. Don't shoot anyone unless they shoot at you. We're making a show of cleaning the atmosphere for these savages."

There were grumbles of confirmation, and then he shut off his own comm system. His purpose was to protect the construction zone of the station they were constructing. From atmosphere they had descended when the low ranking politicians set to work on convincing the city officials of Bala'dahl to entrust their future to the First Order. Deal with the pollution, were his orders from Graush, though he was nowhere to be seen.

Landing outside of the city limits, they had found as much of a clearing as they could and had immediately set to work. A barrier was being constructed, to prevent the local populace from getting in the way, and for future fortifications. Even if the original plan to bring the population in peacefully failed and violence erupted in a fashion that was much too hostile to resolve, Jaeger knew the Supreme Commander would come, and when that happened on a battlefield, there were no limits to the mans power, or the lengths he'd take for victory.

Quick and easy, and then we go home.

She'd heard the talk, sure. A grunt had spread his story around until the CO got wind of it told him to shut his damn mouth, but speculation took it from there. They were supposed to be some new breed of supersoldier, hand-picked from the best of the corps. Seeing them in the flesh didn't come close to the rumours... they had this dark presence that swallowed up the whole room. Gave off the feeling they were just waiting for an excuse to rip someone's spine out. They towered over even the strongest stormtroopers, and the scrambled chatter from their annunciators was inhuman. Bee had to remind herself those things were on her side.

She had orders to join the stormsurgeons bolstering their fortification of the palace, in case Sith hit the fan. Truthfully she'd never gone full medic in the field before, but she expected it would be just like the simulations. They worked closely with a unit of engineers to load out all the equipment, get set up behind the barricades and ensure there were clear lines of traversal throughout. In other words, it was a hell of a lot of waiting...

The monotone was broken soon enough. Even if she wasn't on the front line, Bee was always ready to act. The escapee could not pass the walls and reach sight of the approaching force, or things would get much worse, much sooner. "Eyes on."

Couldn't risk firing a shot out here before clearance so she grabbed whatever was nearby and broke into a sprint, bearing down on the runner like a vornskr on its prey. Oh... no... you... don't! The hydrospanner practically flew with a whistle, and landed with a nasty crack. "Executed. Situation controlled." She grabbed the stolen weapon and her quarry. Hadn't thought the first casualty she'd drag back would be some skinny butler.

Rexus' eyes glazed over the security monitors, waiting for the moment. He, Twigg, and a squad of FOSB operators and stormtrooper watched as the Chiss and Pa'Deshi security performed their final checks, and monitors. "We set?" Wenck inquired, grip tightening around his rifle. Right now, the entire First Order detatchment faced the very real possibility they could spark war, on such a scale that it would require a horrific amount of manpower, and a terrifying perseverence on the part of the defenders.

A Pa'Deshi security technician paused, and clicked on the screen, before pausing, and sliding in a line of code. "We are clear, communications cut." The officer barked, "We are ready to move." The officer continued, "All systems black, and ready for us to launch."

Rexus, who had anxiously been waiting for the last few hours, grinned from beneath the helm. He could not help suppress the primal rush of adrenaline which pulsed through his body. The excitement which bubbled beneath his veins. "Good." Wenck drily replied, before latching and patching himself into the comms unit, a single word was uttered. "Sieger." The code phrase, Now, a mixture of Pa'Deshi traitors, and First Order special forces, would take up defensive positions. The ideal scenario being, that they take the Badishah, and either convert him, or replicate him to the cause.

Operation guillotine was in effect.

Kyli listens to Luther's alert and quickly shifts her eyes over to the macromotion tracker represented on the helmet-mounted display she shift her rifle's scope to intersect with the fast-moving contact on her motion tracker that she concludes must certainly be the armed insurgent. Kyli waits for the fool to run into his own end, death's spectre waits patiently above an ostensibly warm and welcoming door leading to the man's freedom were it not for Kyli who was prepared to serve them with a brutal coup de grace at the end of a railgun's barrel. But then it catches the Sniper's eye; a second contact rushes after the First she doesn't flinch or shift comfortable that even if the contact following was a Stormtrooper her eyes and hands would react with such speed to dispatch the correct individual Kyli is willing to risk hitting a Brother or sister in arms although in her mind there was zero risk she'd made much more difficult shots at sniper school. Kyli's gaze stares unflinchingly through the scope as the two contacts dissapear just shy of coming into sight Kyli spares less than half a second to assess her macromotion tracker and then focuses again; waiting with nothing to come of it concluding that whoever chased after the insurgent must have neutralized them. "All Alpha-Callsigns this is Alpha-two the pup has been neutralised, out." The lens now shifts onto the advancing column; the security forces have shifted into a single-file on the side of either road while armour brings up over the road itself between the two single-files of Infantry. The armour consisted of tracked tanks, they had weaknesses in crew positioning and ergonomics Kyli was all too familiar with from her own personal experience.

"All Alpha-callsigns this is Alpha-Two, be advised several bandit wagons and two hatcheries worth of dismounted on the axis of advance, prepare for contact out." Kyli thinks for a moment before sitting her railgun's sight on a rounded hatch partially obscured by one of the tank's telegraph-pole long cannons and prepares to deliver a shot into what she knows will be the driver's head or abdomen. Since it was the lead vehicle it'd force the other vehicles to fan out around it into an extended line exposing them to anti-tank weapons held by the First Order Troops inside the Palace. Whether or not the Stormtroopers on the ground floor are ready or not she was going to initiate contact, pulling the trigger steadily back against the receiver Kyli releases a sharp exhale bringing her stomach towards spine and releases a shot so loud even the armour crews in their tanks would probably hear it; the sound of one shot and two impacts visibly strike the first tank it's tracks grinding to an abrupt halt with its' Commander standing proud above his hatch splitting around the round which must of hit him. Kyli's shots had followed so closely they couldn't be identified or perceived by the normal senses, it took a Superhuman to recognise she'd shot the Driver beneath his Durasteel canopy first with that Lethal anti-material railgun of hers. The Pa'deshi soldiers start screaming they'd seen the tell-tale red trail and the second tank's cannon raises and fires smashing in the spire's apex demolishing Kyli's position with a high-explosive shell with no immediate response over the comm as the explosion rattles the palace's foundations, walls and ceilings shaking dust free from the building.

"Sergeant" the Corporal approached Luther as he inspected the turrets. "Private BE-183 has neutralized the escaped hostage". "Good" Luther responded. "Glad to see some competence in the ranks". He supposed he shouldn't be so hard on the troops, but his nerves were on edge. The Pa'Deshi approached, slow and wary. Their caution was, of course, warranted and Luther was sure to cover the windows lest they spied the turrets.

Luther walked from soldier to soldier, making sure their equipment was in check and that they were all in position. Despite his earlier reservations, he was proud of his men. He'd served with most of them before, veterans of Kaeshana and Dagobah. When he wasn't with Alpha, he could rely on them to get the job done.

His train of thought was interrupted as his comms crackled to life. A single word was spoken: "Sieger" and Luther snapped into action. The men on the turrets pulled down the covers from the windows and started pushing the emplacements up into position. A group of men armed with bulky Model 851 Launchers moved up the stairs to take position in the roof. Luther joined them, keeping low to stay out of sight. Orders were to keep things as quiet as possible until the most opportune moment to spring the ambush.

Time slowed as they waited. Silence filled the air, broken only by the hiss of his breathing. It seemed like an eternity before Kyli made the shot, yet it must have been only mere minutes. The sound tore through the quiet, reverberating in Luther's bones. The enemy forces stirred up into as frenzy at the sound, scrambling for cover from an unknown foe. The second tank at the back took little time to retaliate, firing upon Kyli's position. Luther heart lurched as the roof collapsed, but after a moment of hesitation he turned away. The woman had survived far worse, and he had a job to do. Regaining his senses, he activated the comms: "FIRE!" he commanded, near screaming.

Above and below, a barrage of blaster bolts opened up. Downstairs, the E-web turrets targeted nearby soldiers, the flash of red tearing through their cover. Upstairs, three troopers unleashed their payloads into the closest tank, which exploded into a crimson fireball. The Pa'Deshi, well trained, took their losses well and started returning fire. Luther and the others backed away from the edge as the shots flew past them. One of the men collapsed, his helmet smoking. Luther pulled him away into cover.

The man was dead, and Luther wasted no time on mourning. He instead moved to help one of the men reload his launcher. No silence now, instead a cacophony of screams, fire and explosions...

Warm. Moist. Painfully lit. These were the kinds of horrid adjectives Racosidae would ascribe to the sickening conditions in which she found herself thrust upon. Once again she was in pursuit of chasing the interests of some far flung benefactor, toadying about with the clarity of an errand girl while the unseen beneficiaries awaited the eventual profit of her determination. Is this what Supreme Leader had designed for his children? Turning them into little more than abstracts that handled the nonsense that average could not? Or was the grander lesson of cooperation, of humility -to suffer the whims of these weak, subpar bundles of ego to foster a more wide reaching and everlasting empire.

Who could say?

At least this time the orders were coming from Navy, and the handlers were straightforward with a clinical approach to objectives and the intel -unlike those frantic schemes that were birthed in the more seedier parts of this empire.

Recover the eye, get it safely out of the system, and into the hands of Fleet Admiral Rausgeber’s team.

With that internally reviewed, the sullen disciple of the Ren deftly maneuvered the uppermost spires of the structure, using her unnatural abilities to dash the temple like a jungle cat. It was hot, and the movement made her sweat, but her cloak was fastened tightly, and her weapons would strike true. Undeterred by the majestic vistas, Rae searched for access from near the tallest, bulbous spire on the structure.

Explosions rocked the palace, and shook the walls. Rexus glowered privately as Kyli detailed her report. This was meant to be clandestine. Professional. And now, something had gone wrong. Very wrong, sealing his helm, he turned to the Chiss general, and the security staff, "Set up a comms network, patch us in on frequency 4." Wenck barked. "And make sure," He pointed menacingly at the smaller, and dimunitive technicians, "That their signals network remains cut, we are all karked here, if you can't do your bloody jobs!" He snarled, before storming away from the command centre. The locals were left in stunted silence, at the brashness of the Death Troopers, but offered no form of emotion in response. Rather, busily returning to the calculations and interference. They of all people must have known what was at stake.

Immediatelty, the security apparatus of the First Order sprung into action. Stormtroopers, and Pa'Deshi regulars, now surrounded the throne room, ready to seal it as a strategic choke point. The Badishah could not, and would not fall. As Rexus and Twigg marched briskly from the chamber, Wenck activated his comms unit, "Alright ALPHAs, this Three and Four." Wenck breathed huskily into the unit, his grip tightening around his rifle, and a sneer pursed his lips, "Where the hell do you want us boys?"

She teases dispassionately though the opposition could not yet hear her, Kyli breaks into a sprint with both hands supporting her weighty weapon Kyli bashes open some antiquated wood door on the end of her charge revealing a room littered with haybales she quickly mounts four neatly placed together and shifts rifle's sight towards a small square shaped opening in the tower's wall and immediately puts an Officer in her scope's crosshairs. For a moment Kyli hesitates spotting a gold band around the man's left hand when he raises it upto face to rub the sweat visibly rolling down his skin; married or not their enemies will be destroyed this man has picked the wrong side as so many before him had chosen, reminding herself that it wasn't personal Kyli's rifle fires a single-shot, lancing across the open space from the small opening in tower and slamming into the man's clavicle sending pieces of it everywhere. Listening to Rexus' voice invade her ears over the gentle rattle that echoes through the building, being hammered with tank cannons Kyli calmly answers him. "Rex, Twigg grab some Ar-pee-gees to the courtyard and neutralise the hostile armour." Kyli did away with the former comm communication protocols and quickly claimed another Officer. One of the tank's Commanders takes note of the blue plasma visibly venting inside one of the towers and steadily his tank's turret traverses around towards the Death Trooper's now compromised position, hoping that Rexus or Twigg will smoke the Tank before it forced her to relocate once again. The vehicle she'd fired at was now a smoldering wreck, so much for deniable operations.

Jets of red, green and blue light filled the air as blasters discharged. The 'thud' of the E-webs downstairs reverberated through his feet; the launchers let out a mighty 'ChooOOoom' that made his ears ring. The Pa'deshi were putting up a fierce resistance, responding to the ambush with fervour. The hulking wreck of the first tank provided them cover from the turrets; any trooper caught out of cover was gunned down.

The enemy had discovered his position in the servant quarters. Despite the suppressing fire, the security forces were slowly chipping down his forces. Two more men lay on the roof: one groaning, the other immobile. A break in the firing downstairs was likely due to the death of an operator; another man moves the body and resumes firing.

"Sergeant!" The Corporal shouts. He'd accompanied Luther up top to assist as attrition whittled down all his support. "We're taking too much fire! We can't get a lock on the second tank!". Luther's mouth settled into a grim line. The Pa'deshi weren't opposed to destroying parts of their own palace, and it was only so long before the tank decided to take out his position permanently. "Alright, hold here" he shouted back. "I'll deal with the forces bel-" he was interrupted as the tank fired at the building.

He was thrown off his feet as the shell exploded downstairs. His ears were ringing, a warmth tickled his arms and back. The ground groaned underneath him and collapsed. He fell, wordlessly, down into the ruins of the building.

The entire room shuddered. A chandelier on the ceiling shook slightly, making a soft jingling sound. It was enough to make several members of the council look around nervously. The temperature of the room plummeted both as people realised the intent of the First Order delegation and the Dark aura of the young woman began to rise.

"What is the meaning of this?" The Badishah glared at her as gunfire broke out in the distance. Several of the council looked intimidated, the Badishah's son looking at her with growing fear as he felt her ice grip into his very bones. The Badishah himself, however, was defiant. A powerful and proud man who would not be so easily coerced.

A panic button was no doubt pressed but Samka had faith in the FOSB agents that the room was secure.

A simpering smile rested on her features and she shrugged coyly, as though she'd eaten the last snack instead of launching a military coup. "You went behind our backs," she said simply.
