Operation Concierge

"Manaan underworld? Your best chance to intercept these Selkath crooks lies on Nar Kreeta!" a guest tipped Varindar off. "It's not too late to enter the race; they hold races four times a week"

Was that guest just telling me this to pull me away from the hotel or pool? Sometimes I can feel that false info may be fed to me, Varindar thought, but she needs to assume the guest is acting in good faith until proven otherwise. [member="Chekīta Awaud"] had a point, though: Varindar's experience with the underworld is, well, exotic, and can be funny to a person that had little exposure to the sport. Yes, the moneylaundering book with a washing machine filled with bank notes sitting in a pool on its cover page was hers, and was available at the hotel's library. But that book would probably be a continuation of what was written in the first book, whose content would extend well beyond moneylaundering alone. Yet she would likely be hit by publication bans on Rishi or Manaan because much of the content would compromise criminal investigations underway (at least on Manaan; law enforcement on Rishi was much less refined). Or at least until these criminal investigations would be completed and the people responsible for the crimes in question would stand trial.

"I guess, time to prepare for this sting operation on Nar Kreeta!"

Chek cocked her head up as an, well information if she had to give a name, came forward. She certainly had her connections, owning the hotel and all, or was she a manager? She had honesty forgot, nor did she really care, only thing that mattered was more sting operations mean more work. More work, more money and if Nar Kreeta was their detestation, she would be right at home. "I think I've handled a few jobs on that planet, nice trade world, probably have a few old contacts floating about". Though to be honest those people she worked for probably had dealings in the slave trade and underworld anyways, buuuut, it could prove useful for Varindar in this sting operation. Send her in to do the talking and once they knew who the targets where sweep in. "Either way can we at least here for the rest of our free visit? not to rushed to get on a ship and travel to the outer rim".

"It's been a while since I actually swam in a meet, much less in a sting operation. But I agree, we may as well stay here on Corellia until your stay ends"

Ceraluen was about her taking part in a meet so as to respond to a blackmail attempt by the Ta'jar Blood Gang to take back the Trandosha hotel. Sure Varindar knew by now where [member="Chekīta Awaud"] would fit in a sting operation on Nar Kreeta, just not swimming those races in the meet program of the day. Also it's not something to be done on the same day either: Varindar needed some time to get a better feel from the hotel and how to go forward running it. And making some time for her to train for that sting operation. The Jedi knew not against whom she would be swimming so she would train on a regimented schedule reminiscent of what her schedule was when she was the hotel's star in the school-vs-hotel dynamic of her first hotel. And hoping it would actually allow her to be able to swim not just against other humans or Near-Humans, but also against Selkath as well. Because let's face it, from what she heard back in the hotel swim team days, the Selkath gangs would always attempt to ensure there would be at least one of their own in a first-round race.

"Well, even if you have been away for a while you are still a Jedi, you train your body and have to fancy 'makes you move' better skills don't you"? "Not saying to cheat or anything when in a race, but having a small edge to stay in the game doesn't hurt anyone riiiiight"? Now stabbing your opponent in the shin before the race started, that hurt and was probably very very illegal no matter where you went. Still, all questions and trouble for later, right now was a time to relax and cool off after the two's work out session this morning, she could leave the planning and other things to Vardinar. At the end of the day she was still just a merc in the employment of said Jedi wasn't exactly in her job description to help plan the operations being considered.
