Loose posting order but don’t make more than a couple each, for each of mine. Freely use the NPCs to work on one form or follow my posts to gain a bit of each, up to you all. Freely enter this thread at any time with any alts, and I will move this thread along every few days. You can assume the Masters are helping you and assume they know every form, even ones unlisted or inverse forms. The Orders PC masters can freely stop by at any time to help as well!

Shii-Cho Demonstration

Kei stood in the largest room of the academy, its silver walls and fresh green training mats were all brand new. There were a large collection of training sabers, of all sizes, colors and shapes on the wall for students to take for practice. They were of course allowed their own, but training sabers were often advised especially for new padawans or those trying to learn a form for the first time.

Dressed In forest green camouflaged temple robes, cut short to allow freedom of movement, around him stood a variety of Masters greeting Padawans, and Knights or other Masters of the order who wanted to learn a style today. There were a few people beginning to settle in and greet each other, and their number was growing.

Kei would be speaking on the basics of each style as they trained, while the Masters around him broke down the individual forms in more detail to the students themselves, leading them in their own practice if they wanted it. Finally a few assistants were standing by in case anyone needed a partner, a double for a move, or just some basic assistance in how to work a lightsaber for example.

“Hello and welcome everyone,” Kei said with a grin. The Epicanthix would be starting with Shii-Cho but work through a few basic pointers of each form, to give every student something here today.

A class where she could learn how to use this... saber. It had sounded intriguing and as the Del-Ya moved standing tall and walking down the hallway of the temple. She did get looks, it was hard to explain the large pony with wings and a horn as the humans called the tooth on her head was a student and padawan of the order. She wasn't wearing her cloak and entered the room as she was looking at the teachers. Her wings tucked into her sides while she was levitating the training saber with her horn. She could move it kind of but didn't know how to use it yet.

Quinn walked in and stopped. He decided he wasn't gonna talk about the pony. However, he did chuckle lightly. He looked around for two masters, two masters of the lightsaber forms he wanted to use.

Quinn was different. He was clearly a natural Ataru user, due to his agility and speed. However, Soresu was also something he'd find himself naturally gifted with. His ideal ending was to combine both forms in his way, a little light what Mace Windu had done to create the form he used. Vaaped or something.

He found the Soresu master fist, and bowed to him. Quinn was using one of the training sabers, a result of not actually building his yet. He chuckled, he'd need to get around to that at some point.

They ran through the basic moves of Soresu. The ran through the basic swings and movements of it, trying it with each other, basic sparing. Soresu was made for defense, thus mixing it with an attacking form like Ataru just seemed right.

After a good half hour training with the Soresu Master, Quinn moved along, moved along to the Ataru master. Soresu involved more acrobatics, and it was more attacking that Soresu. Soresu was the defence, Ataru was the attack.

The Padawan and Master spent longer than half an hour running through the basic techniques for Ataru, and when Quinn finally forced the master to quit, they stopped. Quinn smiled, knowing that he'd picked up Ataru quite well.

While the Master’s began training the individuals in their individual styles. The main core focus of the group began. “To begin we’ll be covering Shii-Cho.” Kei was going to do it in detail, not sparing anything as more students began to arrive it was time to begin.

Shii-Cho

Grips

Taking his saber he demonstrated for the class, “Grips, for Shii-Cho are across your palm from the bottom, the saber above your wrist, with the accent on your power from the bottom two fingers, and the thumb, leave the top two loose, don't grab it like a hammer first as you will not have the movement in the wrist.” Which although wouldn’t help Serana, Kei moved to assist her personally to see that her telepathic grip could be done in the same way as a hand, not too tight like a hammer.

Attack Zones:

“Six attack Zones, picture a circle around the body, with a cross through it, the head and the back separate,” This added up to six attack zones, though some divided it up differently, this was the traditional way Kei had been taught. “Your defense should look to cover as many of these as possible, but keep your body balanced as it moves, with a steady center of gravity.” Kei kept a steady center of balance and demonstrated a simple cross cut, or a sai, from one side of his body to the other. Letting the others do the same before moving on.

Trajectories and Stances

“Trajectories are the core of the form, and sequences of moves that combined together to form the basics of styles, their moment and balance is what gives them strength. Master Triblen will be demonstrating Sai strikes, which are simple attacks from the side, above, or below, picture the target circle ahead of you, and copy him.”

The Epicanthix let the others follow the Master, and did so himself by the man’s side, turning to face them again when they were done and bowing. Watching the students go through the motions and begin to learn the basics of the form.

“Shii-Cho opening stance is often done in a guard, and the moves are setup ready make the next move, either with your weight forward to move back, or back to move forward, giving you the advantage of being ahead of your opponent if done right.”

Masters were on hand to help correct grips, stances and assist the students with whatever they need. Kei had never done so much talking in all his life but clearing his throat, it was all needed to get this conveyed to the students.

Grips

Serana was looking at the display and listening to Kei describe where to place her hands as she had a small look of confusion on her face. Mostly in her eyes in regards to finger placement on the grip and how to loosen it. The idea was alien to her mostly while she stood there and was working to understnad the idea with her telekinetic grip on the saber. Her other ear was turned and listenign to the instructions while she held the blade in front of herself at Kei's chest height with her eyes locked on him while moving it slowly end over end to get a feel for the 'grip'

Was leaving it open for others but I am going to push us on, and you get to pick where we stop or you’d like focus on.

Before moving on to Soresu

Kei took some time to levitate a saber up for Serana, “the grip is going to be the same, only in the force. If you want it to rotate fluidly, picture a hand around it, where it is squeezing and how,” if he was honest this was new to him as well, sure he’d tried to levitated sabers before, even considered learning how to fight with no hands, so in the best traditions of Kei Amadis he was winging it.

Though he didn’t have to wait long for a Master who knew exactly how to saber fight to walk up, Chalbran Blith a Cerean nimban master, who knew every force trick in the book while saber fighting. “Mostly true, don't worry about the details of your fingers, you don’t get the sensations from the hand for exact placement of pressure, and you can’t interact with your opponents weapon with the same feedback, or fine movements, but you can do so with less regard for being hit yourself, and commit more.”

A few tips for Serana in saber fighting without using her hands or her body, “you also don’t get the weight behind the swing, not unless your connection to the force is strong, but what you do get,” Chalbran swung his own saber in the force, doing diving Ataru sweeping arcs, coming from up high then down low, twisting it impressively, “is no hinderance as to your angle, or body getting in the way.” Meaning she could pull of some quite spectacular parries, thrusts and other movements with no wrist or body to worry about behind her, just lacking the strength of the physical form added to the technique.

“Does that help?” Chalbran asked Serana.

She was still working to really getting the idea of fingers but was getting it more while she was moving a little. The saber was shifting and turning unhindered to slice and chop with less hindrance of the form while she moved to the side. Her large wings extending and flapping to shift her to the side of the room while she was watching the others. Her horn glowing before she let her energies flare out and added a little power to her strikes.

Silvano slid into the room, Olwa, his wroshyr wood saberstaff, clipped to his belt. He had heard that Master Amadis was teaching a class on the various styles, and that he was having some other instructors to go into specifics on various styles.

Never one to turn away from more training, Silvano had hurried across the temple grounds, using some of the tricks that he had learned by growing up in the trees of Kashyyk to avoid some congested areas. (Think Parkour). He was still a little bit late to the class, but he felt that the run had done well at loosening him up. He decided to go through a quick regimen of stretches anyway, before fully coming into the class.

He bowed to Master Amadis, then looked around. Soon he spotted the instructor using a training saberstaff, and walked over to him. He offered Sammer Finn a bow as well.

"My apologies for being late." Silvano spoke in a formal-esque manner. He then stepped back and watched, trying to gauge where in the lesson they were. He knew that his training had been unorthodox, he knew some Ataru, some of the K'thri martial art and some Wookiee staff fighting that he meshed together into his personal saberstaff style. He knew that this might seem alien to him at first, but vowed to add it to his repertoire.
