OOC/ The rules are simple. Roll a d20 using the board's new system: that's your gunshot. Highest roll in the next 12 hours wins 10,000 UCs. Lowest roll in the next 12 hours gets attacked by a rancor. Ties will be decided by the whim of Blogga.

IC/ A NAMELESS ARENA
THE OUTER RIM

"Ho-ho-ho!"

"The mighty Blogga offers you redemption! Each of you has been provided with a pistol containing a single shot!"

The Hutt and his translator droid were, of course, behind armor-grade transparisteel. The target — a hapless human pirate who'd neglected to pay certain debts — was not. The pirate struggled against the ropes that bound him to a pole, but he wasn't going anywhere, not even if several people shot those ropes.

"The finest shot wins a prize of ten thousand credits! The poorest shot will be dinner for the mighty Blogga...'s rancor!"

CLEM gripped the single-shot blaster pistol in his tiny auxiliary manipulator, aimed at the tied-up pirate, and fired without remorse.

"Wait, what?" There was a chance he might be paid for shooting the man? He must have misheard the Gamorrean - he thought for sure he was about to participate in some kind of expensive blood sports, while actually... hold on, had he said a rancor?

Well shit. Better not miss - fortunately, he was a decent shot and a certified sociopath.

Blaster flourish.

Jashin Flips, spins, lands on his feet, then bends over and fires his blaster between his legs and at the bound and hapless pirate.

EDIT:
"Dank frelling Farrick!"
As the bolt goes wide and strike some hapless NPC in the knee, Jashin tosses the blaster onto the ground.

If the pirate had been tied up there, he more than likely got what was coming to him. Milou picked up the pistol, and took the shot without much thought. If a rancor came her way for it, oh well.

"Pirate scum."

It wasn't often that Ollis found himself in situations like this, but the noble Galidraani freedom fighter and border reiver had found himself in a very unfortunate turn of events. He had little fear of a rancor, or of what the Hutt was willing to do to him...but his home had been taken from him by pirates allied with the Sith and a clan that had turned against him. Even though this one wasn't one of them, the grudge was still there, as was the knowledge that they preyed on the helpless, with no thought for what might be a worthy, honourable pursuit.

He raised his arm, straight, taking aim like the proper gentleman he still was somewhere at heart, and fired.

Lora welcomed either outcome as a Mandalorian she would take either on after a bad hand at gambling she owed money but she could pay it off easily enough but wanted the thrill. Of this event plus it was one less pirate in the galaxy in her eyes it she was doing the galaxy a favor by shooting him really.

So she took aim and fired at him hoping it would hit its mark.

At this stage, so far as CLEM could assess, his shot was not the worst. That dubious honor went to Kirk Korrado (3) — unless someone shot worse. And the best shot thus far came courtesy of Zelannia Arcrin Zelannia Arcrin (14). Judging himself out of the running for both the prize purse and the close encounter with the rancor, CLEM dropped the empty blaster and headed out.

As he passed the very dead pirate, he offered a good-natured "GONK" of encouragement.

As the final shots pewpewed away into silence, two sail barges drifted over the edge of the arena.

On the bottom of sail barge number two, a hatch opened, dumping several tons of symbolic shiny plastic currency over Zelannia Arcrin Zelannia Arcrin . (10,000 UCs was also transferred to him.)

"The gracious Blogga gives you all clemency — all but the notorious Kirk Korrado!"

On the bottom of sail barge number two, a hatch opened, dumping a full-sized rancor on Kirk Korrado.

He'd gotten out of worse, right? That's what he told himself when the rancor came down. He escaped the battle of Csilla, how hard could escaping a very hungry, very angery rancor be?

He guessed he'd find out whenever his writer decided to write him again.
